On one Saturday morning, racks of vintage clothing had been placed out on the porch, leading us to believe that the store was open for business, so we drove on into the driveway and to the parking lot in the rear, prompting the owner to ask if he could help us. It wasn't open, though it sort of looked it, and we were told that they weren't open until 11 a.m. When we returned, there was a sign that said they wouldn't be open on an upcoming Saturday. They have artwork and antiques that are beyond belief. There is nothing that even looks used. About half of the clothing is absolutely brand new/unused and the remainder looks brand new. Someone told me that they cull thru the donations and only keep the absolute best of the best. This is a new location which is larger than the old one and located in the center of Margaretville in a beautiful old building which is the cornerstone of the Village. They have frequent "Bag Sales" where you can fill a bag for a fixed price and also regular "2 for 1 sales". Many NYC visitors make sure they come to the Margaretville Thrift shop because of the quality and low prices.
