The training paid off because this is one of the best ice cream shops I've experienced not only in Brazil, but considering all my travels. They have about 40 flavors, with 18 available daily. There are three sizes, but it's so good I wanted to eat it per kilo if only my room had a freezer! They opened less than a year ago, so it looks new, clean and organized with a nice patio and an ocean view. The chocolate extra black is made with 75% cacau, making a delicious combination with mint or other flavors. I haven't ordered plain vanilla and chocolate ice cream for years, but this was just such good ice cream I was more than satisfied with the classics.

The menu and the wine list are not large, but there are definitely enough choices both that no diner will be disappointed. Portions are large--I was so full after the main course that I couldn't even think of having dessert. Pastas are made in-house and was very good. Many of the dishes have northeastern Brazilian influences. They have outdoor seating available in a cute garden kiosk. The bar makes signature cocktails if you're not in the mood for beer or wine. I ordered the commemorative dish (Prato da Boa Lembrança) because I collect these plates. It consisted of shredded dried beef with fried curd cheese (queijo coalho) served on a bed of refried black-eyed peas (which had a very bitter taste). Visually, it was striking, but the taste missed the mark.
