With a highly ranked French chef, you can expect a great meal. The setting for formal, with a hostess to seat you, and a champagne cart rolled out to offer you a drink to start. There's a full bar with plenty of wine options and fresh juices and delicious coffees as well. They have normal sized portions so don't expect a family sized meal to share as many of the restaurants in the area do. This is quite nice because you can sample a number of things and not feel overstuffed. We had a half bottle of a Chilean wine, a suco and water to drink. The wine options were numerous so it should be easy to find something you like. I had the crab ravioli entrada which was bathed in a sweet maracaju (passion fruit) sauce which was delicious. Also tried the 6 hour lamb which was very tender and tasty. This dish is definitely worth a try even if you are not a fan of lamb. It did not tasty gamey and was very nicely played with a small copper pot of mashed potatoes. Last but not least, you must save room for dessert. The server recommended the petit gateau verdade (the real kind, implying it wasn't overly sweet like many Brazilian style desserts). It consisted of a fluffy chocolate cake with molten chocolate that pours out once punctured and delicious ice cream on a bed of nutella and toasted almonds. Absolutely superb! Service was excellent and ambiance was pristine, which sparkly chandeliers and dim lighting. They even offer you a truffle on your way out. It may be difficult to catch a taxi on that busy street, so the hotel will easily call one for you.

Second: the food is served from a buffet (although, they do have items that you can request from a menu, the majority of the food is served from the buffet). When I went to eat there, I saw people "sampling" the buffet items with their hands!!! If that wasn't bad enough, the food trays are not being attended, so you may pass trays with food that's been there for quite a while (looking anything but appetizing), or they may be empty. The waitstaff are overworked or uninterested because it was next to impossible to get anyone's attention for a soda.. It's got a big metal tree-like netting on the outside, with industrial cement block outside and a cool running fountain underneath, and large open dining room windows. The inside has deep wood paneling with a curtain of heavy white anchor rope to separate the dining from the reception. It takes two servers to hug the ropes to let you through. The food was amazing but huge family portion style so make sure you share or get a half portion size. We tried the garlic shrimp and the beef dishes which were both quite amazing. Atmosphere, food and service makes this place a winning combination. One thing that was annoying was the family table that let their kids run all over the restaurant, screaming and bumping into servers, which seems to be a disaster waiting to happen.
