I think one has to remember that Papa Ganache is a vegan and gluten free bakery so some items might taste different from a traditional bakery. Also I think that might depend on what someone orders. Nonetheless, I would skip on the cookie because it didn't taste like anything and the peanut butter brownie was good. I think the brownie has a unique flavor and gets better with time. However, some might not like it. I would give this place another try but would try different things.

MATAWAN: a delicious bakery right downtown, Papa Ganache has amazing cupcakes, cookies, muffins, brownies, full cakes, special baked goods, and even savory items. They take special orders and make custom cakes too! They also have a full catering menu! We were able to take Brie inside to order and then enjoy the treats at their dog friendly outdoor seating. Everything is SO GOOD you may not even know that 100% of their products are vegan. A lot of their products are also gluten-free. In 2013, Papa Ganache won Food Network's Cupcake Wars competition! They also have a social mission of helping young people in need.

This was my first time ordering from PG. I had picked up from the Matawan location. It was St. Patrick's Day weekend. one of my family members has a gluten allergy so I thought to try PG 's Irish soda bread. And I thought $10 was reasonable for a pre-ordered limited holiday item. Well... if it was a regular-sized soda bread, yes, it would have been. BUT the bread was pretty much the size of a Portuguese roll. I couldn't believe how small it was! As a first impression, not great. It tasted ok for a gluten free bread. But the size of it, and costing $10, not pleased.

I love Papa Ganache, everything they make is so good. They recently started offering baking classes in their dedicated gluten free & vegan kitchen. I've taken several of them and have learned so much! I've been an at home baker for many years but head Chef Coco has many techniques, tips, and tricks that he shares with the group. The classes are small so it's not overwhelming and Coco takes the time to explain everything and help out when needed. All the classes have been a great time and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn gluten free/vegan baking! Plus you come home with everything that you make!!

This bakery is amazing! They make vegan and vegan gluten free cakes and sweets. And they even have a company that makes vegan gluten free meals, Mac and cheese and chkn wraps,rice balls,etc. lovely staff and being that there are not alot of vegan places around the area, they can get really busy.

Was in Keansburg today and wanted rolls for our lunch. So I stopped in to the Dixie Lee bakery…read more Always remembered their great products from my time in the burg. I ordered two hard rolls . They looked great. Got home and just now was going to make lunch with them. I have to say so disappointed. I asked for two "hard" rolls and boy did I get them. They were more like day old hard rolls . Instead of being crispy they were rotted it seemed. Completely fell apart, crumbled at touch . No crunch or crispiness and my fingers pushed thru the outside surfaces like going into cardboard. Crumbled and felt so stale under these circumstances had to be at the minimum day old left out dried up rolls. I had heard they went down a bit down the "old" Dixie Lee, but this was embarrassing. Sorry David Burke, I expected so much more from you... I learned my lesson today.. off to J&M where I should have gone to begin with. And it's a shame. 3 yrs ago I was a fan. Not any more...
