Wife went and got the lobster tail with cannoli cream when I'm a much bigger fan of pastry cream. That said, this was excellent. The cannoli cream was smooth and rich, and the shell was crunchy and huge. I also loved the peanut butter and chocolate tart thing she got- really good. Kiddo and wife ate all the croissants without offering me ny, so I guess they liked that. The -1 is for 2 reasons. 1, wife went on a Saturday at like 2 and they were out of carrot cake, which is a bummer. And 2, the brownie she got was all kinds of weird. It 100% tasted like cake, and was crumbling apart. I asked if she ordered cake or a brownie, and she insisted brownie... so that was just a terrible brownie. I used to love the different crumb cakes but I stopped there this week and was very very very disappointed, The quality was not there and crumb cake was old and dry like a rock, I even asked if there is a new owner since I did not recognize the staff , but was told that it is the same old owner and staff- I don't believe it ! We found Guzzo's after searching on Yelp. We didn't know a bakery existed in that shopping center. Nick was very patient & knowledgeable as he went over all the delicious- looking cakes in the showcase. We ultimately decided on the chocolate ganache cake. It was one of the most delicious cake we've ever had, cake was so moist and just the right sweetness. We will definitely go back for more bakery needs! It's nice to support small business! read more

New place Fall 2022 with immediate social media presence. Large portions, creatively named items on the menu, food a little bit on the bland side even if well cooked and tasty. oddly they don't have salt shakers on the table but IMO they need them. first time there got a egg meat and cheese on a hard roll (not by that name ) second time got a kicken chicken sandwich, which comes with a tiny amount of buffalo sauce a tiny amount of lettuce, but happily lots of grilled chicken and fresh french bread. beware what looks like a cinnamon coffee cake - it has cheese in it and it's just too much...who wants that much cheese? but overall, it's very Nice to have a place like this. Another time I will have to sit outside, but not in the rain first visit or the cold second visit. read more

I just ate breakfast here, and I was very happy with the overall experience. The employees are beyond kind and very accommodating. The chocolate chip pancakes and egg whites and potatoes we ordered were yummy. The coffee was strong, just like I like it. All of the pastries there looked appetizing, but we were full from bkfast. This visit I bought some Raspberry Rugelach because they looked so good. And they were!

Great local place. I was introduced to theo amazing lard - meat bread as a sample during Matawan Day. Decided they were worth checking out as they are close to home. Their breads are HOT and fresh! Perfect crisp on outside and soooo soft inside. We have also purchased their rainbow cookies and cannolis. Their donuts look so home made, huge and packed with fillings! They are on our to try list even though we are not huge donut people I don't think we can pass these up. All of this pastries and cookies are so beautifully done and also on the list to try. The several times we passed by, the tables were filled with happy people enjoying sandwiches and breakfast dishes. Definitely glad to see this family business so close and wish them the best. I've been missing "true" bakery style goodies since moving to NJ. This is a game changer! read more

We took our family here for lunch and pastries. While the prices seem steep, we were all able to split meals, so it wasn't so bad for the amount of food you get. We had sfogliatiella , cannolis, three color cookies, and donuts and they were all delicious. The employees were nice. The coffee was just ok but they have non dairy options for milk and creamer. Called two days before a Gender Reveal party thinking it was probably too late. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Even after I damaged the cake on my first drive home, they touched it up in minutes and wouldn't accept additional payment. It not only looked great but it tasted amazing! Guzzo's caffe and bakery is the definition of quality delight in each bite. We went in there to get some cannolis and let's just say I added more items to that list. I had their French toast for breakfast and let me tell you, nothing like a common French toast. It was light yet not soggy but just the right texture and consistency. I had the marble option and let me Just say that syrup was not even needed. A fresh baked doughnut, a turkey sandwich, coffee , two fresh Italian loafs, one French loaf , lobster tail, cheese danish, and a few cannolis later later I'm a happy customer. If you want quality this is where it's at. You can feel the love that it's put in to their craft. Nick and his staff where amazing. Amazing Cafe! One of my all time favorites! Thank you to the staff for being courteous and helping with my massive order! Originally, I came in for a couple of Cannoli. Instead, I left with Coffee, Brioche, French bread, Eclairs, a Lobster Tail the size of my head, hot Doughnuts, Italian Cookies, a Napolian, a Killer Breakfast Sandwich that, and of course, 6 large Cannoli!!! Went here for first time yesterday! The owner was soo hospitable! We ordered some sandwiches which were delicious, but the pier de resistance were the desserts!!! Omg- the blackout cake was a replica of Ebinger's Bakery from Brooklyn when I use to visit the store as a little girl!! The apple crumb cake was Devine! I went several months ago and got a grilled cheese and potato leek soup after waiting close to a half hour not busy at all I took my order and left went home the potato leek soup was sour no potato inside or leeks the grilled cheese was made on this very thick bread ok so I called back the person told me to give my name and I could come back and get a soup replacement I didn't eat one spoonful after I tasted it and looked at it i know potato leek soup and that wasn't it ! read more

Had the pleasure of stopping by Guzzo's Cafe on Easter Sunday 2023. The gentleman at the register was super attentive, friendly, and welcoming. I ended up purchasing 2 items. Some almond Paste cookies, and a whole Cheesecake. The almond paste cookies were on POINT! Super moist and full of almond flavor. Not super sweet which i appreciated and made for an excellent gluten free alternative. The cheesecake truly was delicious. It was creamy and moist without being too dense and hard. i appreciated the depth of flavors and the fact that it did not feel overwhelmingly sweet. **That being said, my only complaint with the cheesecake was the fact that it still had quite a few chunks of raw cream cheese that were not thoroughly blended well. My only critique would be to make sure the raw materials are blended a little better to avoid chunks of cream cheese ending up in the final product.** Despite that small issue, will giving this bakery a 5, as the service was great, the staff super accommodating , and the products still delicious. Will definitely stop by again to explore other delicious items that they sell! read more

Stopped here for a quick sandwich and was blown away by the amount of desserts they had. Ordered the California sandwich but also got the pizza because it looked and tasted homemade. The staff were really sweet and made a bunch of suggestions about different things to try. I am assuming they were all family which is so nice to see. I also walked away with a box of donuts and 7 layer cookies that I didn't intend on buying. The were probably the best my family said they had in years. This is coming from an old school Italian raised family from Brooklyn/ Staten Island so we know our stuff. They also said they make homemade fresh mozzarella which I will be going back to try.
