I was in Moreno Valley for a business trip and had several life insurance appointments in the area from 4:00 p.m. until almost 9:00 p.m. With about 15 minutes between appointments, I decided to stop by Papa's India Grill--and I'm so glad I did. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The owner, a young Sikh gentleman, welcomed me with a genuine smile and made me feel right at home. After looking over the menu, I ordered the soy sticks, garlic bhuna, and garlic naan. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The food, the service, and the overall dining experience exceeded my expectations. I also noticed the restaurant's impressive awards and recognition displayed on the walls, which speak to the consistency and quality they've maintained over the years. If you're looking for authentic Indian food with outstanding hospitality, I highly recommend Papa's India Grill. I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in Moreno Valley. read more

i truly do love this place and the customer service is always great their samosas, pakora, lentil soup and all those appetizers are yummy even tried the soy chicken wings and omg texture crazy like chicken! my only thing is i ask for SPICY everything and everything was mild at best..even temperature wise..i wish the food was hotter in every aspect. also the amount of tofu in the curry is literal microscopic. it felt like i was just eating the sauce lol so that felt like a rip. they also put tooo much oil on the roti/paratha like drenched so maybe just ask for no oil on it lol flavor is there for everything, there just needs to be tweaks read more

Best Indian food in the IE! We ordered the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, cheese-stuffed garlic naan, lamb biryani, mango lassi, and strawberry lass. Everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and perfectly spiced. We went with medium spice, and it had just the right kick without being overpowering. The garlic naan was --simple, but done right (which is harder to find than you'd think!). Every dish was packed with flavor, and you can truly taste the care and pride they put into their food. The butter Marsala is sweet. I requested it mild to medium but it came swwwwweeeet. No heat at all. I think the tomato sauce must be sweet and the meat isn't cooked into it. Not for me. Amazing dishes at this family owned establishment!!! Seriously this is the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot, including several in the Cerritos Little India area. I love finding spots like this where the whole family runs and operates it the way that it should be. Just note they are closed on Mondays. The main entrees are not only perfection, but they have sooooo many Lassi flavors! I had never seen a Sweet Lassi before, or a Strawberry one! Even the regular Naan was so good it could be eaten all by itself, and most of the time, that's not the case. We are for sure coming back here, even though it's pretty far. The staff were attentive and the sweetest people ever! They gave a soup to start and I forgot the name but it was very good and flavorful. The garlic naan was great we ordered another order go. Savory, with a well-balanced paneer texture (not too hard or too soft). A 10/10 if you love cheese, but I personally prefer other protein options. Chicken Saagwala Curry - 9/10. My first time trying saagwala curry, and it was delicious--savory with a kick of spice and ginger. Lamb Butter Masala - 10/10. Rich, savory, and the lamb was incredibly tender. Tofu Coconut Curry - 8/10. Slightly sweet, with soft, easy-to-chew tofu. Chicken Coconut Curry - 9/10. Sweet, flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly tender. Cheese & Garlic Naan - 10/10. The aroma alone had my mouth watering! Savory and pairs beautifully with all the curries. Our food was ready for pickup in just 15-20 minutes. The service was friendly, and the restaurant had a casual, welcoming vibe. Portions were generous--easily enough for at least two meals. Ate here about a year ago and loved it. Today I ordered mixed grill tandoori which was so HORRIBLE as to be inedible. The chicken was old, over cooked and VERY dry. I ordered a large mixed pickles and was charged for the large size but given a small portion; I also ordered garlic naan but there was NO garlic on it but I was charged the additional dollar for the garlic, I was so disappointed in this I called them to let them know they lost me as a customer and I would be posting a bad review. I never asked for a refund and was not given that option. 5 minutes later a man called me back and at first asked me something about taking a picture. Then he asked me what color the chicken was and I said the white chicken. He DID admit that the chicken was dry and asked how this could be resolved but I told him while the last time I ate there I was TOTALLY happy, this time all things considered I did not want to try something else and he asked me if I was diabetic!!! Then he suggested that due to my older age, that could be why I felt the food wasn't as good. Finally he said he was recording our phone conversation to show that I was too stubborn to try and resolve the issue!! We found the sauce a bit sweet...plus there was no spice option and my mother in law doesn't do spicy so she wasn't a fan. The chicken tikka masala was OK. They seemed very grateful to all the guests that were there. There is a parking lot and a great ambiance inside the restaurant. The paneer tikka masala was extremely flavorful and even though we got the medium spice, it wasn't too spicy for me. The garlic naan came out piping hot and the garlic flavor shines through beautifully. The only disappointment was the mango lassi. Unfortunately, it had a distinct fermented taste to it so we didn't drink too much of it. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were perfect. We have been to the best known Indian restaurants in Los Angeles and other areas around, but....no match to this restaurant. Place has very welcoming environment. Excellent Ambiance. Stopped by this amazing restaurant today. As soon as you walk in your greeted by the amazing Sandy. She was so welcoming and friendly which always makes an experience very memorable. Started off with the spicy chicken wings which were packed with so much flavor. Hands down some of the best wings I've ever had. Also enjoyed one of the specialty plates known here at papas. Which was the Chicken Mango Curry. Wow!! It was so delicious and full of flavor! Everything was! Even had a delicious garlic and cheese Naan bread which goes well with the curry! We found this place by accident one day, and we are so happy we did! We've become regulars here, even though we rarely eat out otherwise. The lunch special is amazing--every dish is well-seasoned and spiced to your preferred heat level. We've tried every (vegan version) of the curries on their lunch menu many times, and each one is a delight, offering unique flavors, vibrant colors, and a lovely balance of sides. Their naan is top-notch, and we could easily live on their samosas for at least a month! Their customer service is exceptional; they make us feel like part of the family, just dropping by to share a meal with them. They are all incredibly warm, personable, and helpful when it comes to making recommendations if you're unfamiliar with this amazing cuisine. They are also extremely accommodating to our dietary preferences, as we don't eat any animal-derived products. They always seem to know exactly what substitutions to make without compromising the flavors or textures that make their dishes so extraordinary. We love Indian food and have been to many Indian restaurants across Southern California, but this one is the winner, hands down! I've only ever loved one other restaurant this much in my life (a little Japanese place in Riverside that sadly no longer exists), and I honestly can't recommend Papa's India Grill highly enough! Solid Indian restaurant. I had the Korma paneer and butter chicken marsala. Both dishes were extremely flavorful. So good in fact, I think the chicken actually took away from the butter sauce. All I wanted to do was dip my garlic Naan into the sauces and chow down. As mentioned in other reviews, yes the Naan is thinner than other restaurant I've tried, but that's not a bad thing. I actually liked it being less heavy. I was able to eat more of it with the sauce and not fill up as fast.
