This hotel is one of the cleanest Ive stayed in. One thing I noticed, and it might sound strange, is the smell. There was none. No odd smell. No strong smell of cleaners or chemicals. Just fresh and neutral. The bed and dressings were very comfortable. There is very little noise from inside the hotel such as the hallway or adjoining rooms. I assume its due to solid walls and the way it was built back in the day. There is noticable street noise such as loud stereos and exhausts but its not a hotel issue and wasn't horrible. Weekends might be a bit louder. But, again, not the hotels fault Self parking was easy at the city garage a short walk down the street. Perfect location downtown. When In doing business here, this will be my go-to hotel.

Check-in went well enough, the person who checked us in was functional. Not rude but not really pleasant either. The downstairs common area is beautiful and the room itself was quaint and cute! Everything was also clean and kept. There was a small annoyance however. In our particular room there was an air conditioner right at the ceiling above the bed which had a very bright blue light. There was no way to turn it off unless you turned the AC off, so if you're anything like me and need it to be dark, bring a mask or something. My husband even said "I feel like we're on the moon..."

We love staying at a B&B rather than a chain hotel when we can. We took advantage of the Crayola Experience package, which is offered for either of the two-room suites that accommodate up to four guests. The main room has a King. The second room (more or less a sitting area on the way to the bathroom) has a twin with a trundle that can accommodate two kids. The package can be booked for a single night and includes admission tickets for up to four people, a Crayola gift pack for each kid, and a tray of snacks. Ours included some fabulous homemade peanut butter cookies! We booked two nights (the additional night was less than the first with the package). As a family of three we basically broke even on the additional package price vs. buying our own tickets, gift, and snacks. But this is vacation and to have that all taken care of plus the fun surprise for our daughter waiting in the room made it more than worth it. Lafayette has a comfortable, family feel. The wrap-around porch was a great place to sit (and run if you're a toddler) and everyone made my daughter feel welcome. By the second day she was calling it "our new house." The breakfast menu for the next day was posted in foyer each night. We had made-to-order omelets with choice of bacon or sausage each morning with different fresh fruit and homemade baked goods each day. Yogurt, cereal, and a variety of breads were also available. There were to-go cups for coffee along with mugs. Pastries plus coffee, tea, hot chocolate, whole fruit, and sodas were available all the time in the parlor. Having a DVD player in the room allowed us to have a family movie night. We brought our own, but the front desk also had lots to borrow. Only wish we had had some popcorn!

I booked this bed and breakfast because it was close to blue mountain and cheaper to stay in than elsewhere. The plan was to arrive on the 31st and stay to the 4th. So I placed an inquiry through their website to book a room and I called several times (about 5) leaving voicemails and finally got a call back. I was told to leave my card and that we were all set but that I would not be charged yet because it had been so warm out, and the lady was nice enough to tell me she would call if there would be no snow on the mountain. Well the week before it was still warm so I called to cancel myself. This same lady then told me that if I didn't not reschedule this season that she would charge my card. When I asked what kind of policy this was she told me it could be found on their website when I booked. This was silly because their website is out dated and there is just a form to request a room. Once the form is submitted the reservations are made over the phone when they finally decide to answer or call you back. So there was nothing online that indicated that if you cancel you must rebook and this also wasnt over the phone. Once booked or cancelled you also wont be sent email confirmations. Beware of this place. Oh and of course, I cancelled this card that she said she would charge if I did my rebook by March.

The things I LOOOVEd the most was our jetted tub didn't work Tori & maintenance got on it the same day I told them! She even called to make sure I was okay with it before he came into our room(we were out on the town) I LOOOVE their policy of Quiet time 11pm-7am! not even a radio was playing when we got in at 2am! (Doors are locked by 10pm). LOOOVEd that they are highly secured! You have to use a code and a card swipe when coming in and leaving even at the elevator doors I believe! . Your room as well!.. The Classic Room with the jetted tub& shower was a niiice touch! The Bed soooo super comfy!! we didn't want to get up!! We slept so comfortably and A/C you can control it was heavenly. The Housekeeping was great!! We just asked for Towels they changed your whole room!! . All your belongings are there from start to your exit!! I know ppl always read about stuff being taken or unruly staff/management YOU GET NONE OF THAT HERE!!! everything's cleaned!!, kept safe and peaceful . They don't serve breakfast but it's such a cute Shop on the ground floor to get whatever you want to eat! . Overall I'd definitely recommend GE to anyone looking for a peaceful pleasant getaway or just a solo business trip without being disturbed .

We stayed in the privacy suite, and after reading all the wonderful reviews, I just hoped that it would be as great as it sounded! It certainly met all of our expectations! The owner, Lynn, gave us a tour when we arrived and made sure we knew how everything worked and they were happy to give us recommendations for restaurants in the area. They were accomodating when we arrived a little past their 3-6pm check-in because our bus was late. Speaking of, we chose this place because we didn't need a car at all to get there or to get around! We took the trans-bridge line bus from Manhattan and it drops you off right in Frenchtown. Then Frenchtown is so small, we did everything we wanted to do just by walking. The room: Very clean and homey, with a very large bathroom with jacuzzi. Very romantic room, with candles surrounding the jacuzzi. They provide robes and a bottle of wine and the room also has books and magazines for your reading pleasure. It is very well-thought out, and even though it had a tv, we didn't turn it on once. The breakfast: We stayed for two nights, so I have two breakfasts to review. In the privacy suite, they deliver breakfast in a basket to your door, and you set up the table in your room with the placemats in the basket. Our first morning we were served waffles with blueberries, a warm peach pastry (maybe cobbler?), freshly baked corn muffins, yogurt, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Our second breakfast was totally different and equally delicious: sausages, breakfast potatoes, brocolli and cheese quiche, bowl of fruit (cantelope, blueberries, and cheeries), two more muffins (one blueberry, one cinammon nutty type), yogurt, and orange juice again. We couldn't even finish our breakfast the second day, there was so much food! Activities: We did Paddle Creek Kayaking (highly recommend), and ate at Bridge Cafe (so-so), Frenchtown Inn (I would stick to their Grill room), and Bamboo House (average asian food). If we ever return to Frenchtown, we would love to stay here again!

What a great weekend getaway from Manhattan! This B&B is so…read morecharming with its authentic Victorian decor. The minute we arrived we felt transported to another place and time! Lynn, the owner, was very welcoming and helpful throughout our entire stay. We were in the Anne James suite and it was beautiful. The room was large, comfortable and romantic. The ensuite bathroom was very nice and had a large Jacuzzi tub for two with candles all around (which you're allowed to light). Lynn serves a home cooked 3 course breakfast in the dinning room which was a highlight of our stay there. The food was fresh and delicious! You can walk to everything in Frenchtown which is so convenient. There are lots of shops, restaurants, art galleries, and antiques. If you go definitely check out the Frenchtown Inn for dinner or lunch. They have fantastic food and service. Also, make an appointment at Euphoria Spa for a massage or facial! We were blown away with how great the spa was--- and again it's walking distance from the B&B. We also took a drive over to Lambertville (about 20 min) and visited the town. It's a bit bigger than Frenchtown, and you can walk across the bridge to New Hope PA for more stores and shops. Overall it was a really fantastic getaway that turned out to be much better than what we expected. You won't be bored and there is lots to do. We plan to return in the fall for another quiet getaway and spa visit!
