Needed a hair salon badly and found one I could book an appointment with. Sky, the woman who cut my hair did an awesome job! She made me feel comfortable while cutting my hair to ensure I was gonna like it. I have never chopped my hair short, but was so glad I did! It looks phenomenal! My hair was down to my waste and she let me keep my cut off hair to donate for later. Price is very nice and the salon is clean and friendly! Before I met her it had been about 6 years since I had been to a salon because all the places I tried in Amarillo I had terrible experiences with, and as slow as my hair grows I can't take chances where someone is going to mess up my hair. When I first went to Ciara my hair was very damaged I had been through some really stressful things in my life and my hair was really showing it! Went in about a week ago for a hair cut with Aracely. Went from about shoulder length to a pixie cut with buzzed sides and back. Aracely did a fantastic job!! Tapered the sides and back and textured the top. It looks absolutely amazing!!! She is very personable, friendly, listens really well and really cares about the quality of her work! Ciara was very sweet. She did a reasonable consultation and I was impressed with her questions. I told Ciara that I wanted "deep red wine" foils with an overall dark brown base. I sat in her chair and she began what would be a 6-hour ordeal. My hair was subsequently BLEACHED. The entire cap of my hair was lifted to a "straw yellow". When Ciara removed the towel, I was immediately concerned. As a "hair fanatic" for the last two decades, I knew something was wrong. My hair looked like someone took dead grass and rubbed it between their hands - matted, stiff, broken. Awful. Ciara struggled trying to brush out the mats, so I took the brush into my own hands. I questioned - at least 3 times - the texture of my hair... I was told (by Ciara and the other stylists) "this is just what happens when you hair is bleached".... No. I have had highlights of every color over the last 20 years and my hair has never looked this awful. I tried to have faith. I should have walked out while I was ahead. My hair was dyed PURPLE. Purple. I am not a stranger to wild colors (pink, purple, red, etc) but this happened to be the day before my 84 year-old grandmother's funeral, not really an occasion appropriate for unveiling electric purple hair. Okay, purple. I can handle that. I love purple. It was a pretty color. Ciara did my cut - I asked for long layers. I ended up with two "stair steps" of hair. While she hacked off a good portion of my damaged hair, she completely ignored the overall appearance. It wasn't until almost a week later (first official shampoo) that I realized the extent of the damage. I was almost unable to get a brush through my burned hair. I am so disappointed - I went in with near flawless hair and left with a disaster. My only solace is that my hair grows fast. Even at that, I'll be growing this mess out for the next couple years. I do NOT recommend this salon. read more

April has being doing my hair here for 3 years. She is one of the owners. She is a true artist. I have had my hair every color--platinum, streaks of blue, pink, purple. I have had plain blonde. My hair is the healthiest it has been in 10 years of foiling. She is careful never to double process. I have never before been able to communicate and receive the color I wanted in my life of being all versions of blonde. I bring a picture in and she is able to reproduce it with my hair. Also, she is able to get the yellow out and make a true ash blonde color. Never has anyone else been able to do this. The salon is nice, low-key, everyone is nice, and prices are very reasonable. I will never go anywhere else. Update as of December 2017: April has moved and opened a new salon: Oxidize at 45th and Georgia. read more
