First time coming here. Mainly came here because I was lured by their Christmas gift ideas scattered around the store and they sold a few things that were modestly priced like some Whiskey Stones and office gadgets that I purchased for some of my friends. What a beautiful store, filled with not just paper, but gifts of all sorts. I saw candles and all kinds of other nice things, plus a wall of stamps, one of wrapping paper... they can even wrap gifts for you. My partner bought two rolls of Christmas paper and I bought a cute stamp and stamp pad to say thanks to my customers for holiday orders. The lady who helped us was super kind and friendly, helpful when we needed assistance, and checked us out quickly. I still love Paper Source! Yes, you can find several of these items online or in another store but Paper Source brings them all together into one and it makes me giddy. The regular offerings include cards, individual printed sheets for wrapping or decorating, stamps, wedding invitations, party supplies and writing pens. But then, based on the season, you'll find lots of fun accessories for your home or personal use like planner stickers, make up bags, coffee or wine cups, kids activities and games, kitchen decor and more. There's so much that I walk the store twice to make sure I didn't miss anything. If you're having trouble finding artwork for a space this is a great spot to visit for their individual sheets that can be framed. Prices aren't outrageous but will be on the higher end. I try to shop at independent, local stores, but when I need a unique card or small gift (and am rushed for time), I usually turn to the Paper Source. I first discovered them when I lived in Virginia and often opted for PS rather than the Papyrus up the street. Paper Source locations tend to have a homey vibe, more like a mom and pop shop than national chain. Their pricing often seems lower too. This store is in the old, Vogue Theatre complex. The light and airy space is chocked full of greeting cards (including my favorite, letter press versions) and wrapping papers as you would imagine. However, they also have a myriad of crafting and party supplies as well as custom, invitation services available. Today, I picked up a small book to send a friend and perused the gifting possibilities for Mother's Day (day after Derby this year, y'all). Paper Source often has fantastic sale racks, so I poured over the offerings in the front and he back. Came away with some deeply discounted cards! If you can't make it over to Celebrations or Cartwheels, Paper a Source is a good option for cards that don't look like they came from Target and small presents that are fun and quirky. I am an avid letter-writer. It is my hobby and I send out upwards of one-hundred-fifty hand-written notes during the month - not counting post cards and interoffice memoranda. That, paired with my journaling and origami habits makes me a bit of a paper snob. Do you need a pen pal? I'm your buddy. I found Paper Source using Yelp and I was not disappointed. I'm always looking for new sources of paper and I needed to update my personal stationery. This is a place that will be able to serve both of these needs. The staff was enormously helpful and I am excited to go back to order my stationery. They offer all manner of paper goods: cards, post cards, do-it-yourself stationery supplies, party supplies, as well as the ability to custom order your stationery. They also had a clearance section that I dutifully pilfered. I didn't notice fancy pens but I was also avoiding that endeavor. Wow... Let me first just say that this is not a scrapbook store. This store is part of a national chain, but feels like a unique local shop. The Paper Source has beautiful papers, ribbons, tissue and boxes for gift wrapping, books and kits for paper crafts like making flowers. It has stationary, cards and rubber stamping supplies. It was a joy to wander through the store on a beautiful fall day. It's also close to some other cool shopping opportunities like Cooking at the Cottage and Lotsa Pasta. Parking is easy. read more

Fun store with lots of neat items- great for gift giving. You can find a lot of the items cheaper online but the staff are so friendly and I don't want them to go out of business so I pay the higher price in-store just for the experience. My home away from home! Endless selection of colored card stock/envelopes, wrapping paper and beautiful handmade paper. Not to mention the traditional and quirky gift items. It's a creative dream come true. The classes/workshops are soo much fun. I can't believe all the new things I've learned to do since I found this store!I'm now trying to find enough wall space at home to accommodate my finished projects! The entire staff are well qualified and willing to guide customers in shopping for invitations, do it yourself kits, stationary, gift buying, crafting and necessary items for projects, not to mention teaching all sorts of wonderful classes for different age groups. The ladies are always so friendly when I come in! While the prices are a little on the expensive side, everything is such good quality that I don't mind spending a few extra dollars on supplies. They have such great customer service and the ladies who work there really seem to care about what you are looking for and interested in. They are super creative and helpful. I was so disappointed today. I had visited the Paper Source a few weeks ago where I made multiple purchases $$$$ Was so pleased to find this shop. Told my family and friends about it and even posted their page on my FB wall. At that time I had mentioned that I had an important, expensive gift placed inside of a beautiful, large hatbox ordered from etsy which was also part of the gift and needed to be wrapped elegantly. The girls in the shop said it would be a challenge to wrap but they would figure something out when I brought it in. This morning when I phoned the shop to enquire about bringing it in to wrap, the woman I spoke to simply could not be bothered and said she didn't think they could manage it. I have already purchased my card from Paper Source and planned to buy the tissue paper and ribbon there along with the $10.00 gift wrap fee. I explained that before discovering their shop I had already purchased gift wrap online which turned out to be a very large commercial size roll so that there would be plenty of paper to spare for trial and error. This seemed to further encourage the employee to turn down the job by saying the paper has to be purchased by our shop. Which I probably would have agreed to do to have the service. At this point, though I was quite frustrated with her attitude and told her so. I have gone online and in a few simple clicks found a tutorial on how to wrap large round boxes. It does take more work, time and effort, something I would have gladly paid more for than the standard fee with Paper Source. Sorry Paper Source, but today your customer service was quite poor and while your products are amazing, beautiful and unique I won't be gushing so much about the actual shop. read more

I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed we have been with the service, or lack of, that we have received from our St. Matthews Louisville Paper Source. We ordered wedding invitations with them and paid approximately $1100. After having a careless error by Crane on the original invitation, we returned to Paper Source to have the error corrected. This was Thursday, June 22. We were told the new proof would be ready no later than 3 business days. Friday, 6/30/17 the second proof was still not available. During this entire time we have had to call numerous times to check on the status of the second proof, no one called us. It has been very frustrating that we have not gotten any feedback. When I called 4 working days later, I was told that the vendor was a couple of days behind schedule and was still not given a day for arrival of the proof. The employee told me to call back tomorrow if we didn't get the proof. Our order (the second proof) should not have been delayed in production since the error was not our fault. Again, no further information until I called again and was told by the manager at Paper Source that I should call because she is "the middle man". I did not appreciate that as I ordered the invitations from her store. I was offered a 10% discount and overnight shipping; however, the most important fact is that we have not gotten our invitations in the time frame we need them. Then, Crane and Paper Source were closed on July 3rd and 4th, which again delayed the processing of our order even further. I spoke with Monica and Allana at Paper Source Third Party and told them that Crane needed to process our order as quickly as possible, not behind other orders as this was their mistake and their extended delay. I asked Monica to call me first thing Wednesday morning 7/5/17 which she assured me she would, but didn't hear anything by 1 pm. I called her and she said that Crane is behind schedule and they were unable to get in touch with them. Still heard nothing by 4 pm and called Monical and Allana again. Then I was sent this response: "Thank you for your patience. I am so sorry for the delays - unfortunately Crane is quite backed up after a long weekend, but I was finally able to get through to someone just now. I have requested that they do whatever possible to ship your order by EOD Friday, and have upgraded your shipping to overnight with Saturday delivery. Paper Source will cover whatever rush fees are incurred, but I will not have solid confirmation until tomorrow afternoon. I will provide you with an update just as soon as I have one to share." I responded: " Thank you for responding. I do not understand why they could not definitely confirm that they will get the invitations done Friday. As I told Monica last week, my daughter's wedding invitations should be their top priority with the mistakes and delays that they have caused. We are very tired of not getting a definitive answer from anyone. I am going to try to contact them myself. " Our RSVP date is 7/19/17 and we don't even have the invitations to send out. We are frustrated and disappointed beyond belief. Please do not use this company. All wedding plans have gone very smoothly until this. We can understand errors with anything; but the lack of follow up and accountability and no one "making things right" has been a total lack in customer service with this company. read more

Although it is a chain, it feels like a small town, local boutique. The staff, especially the blonde (so SORRY i forget her name), were very sweet and welcoming to everyone that stepped through the doors. They offered advice and were very complimentary. This review is for Paper Source the parent company and not for the local Louisville store. We placed a wedding invitation order online. (Dixie at the local store did everything she could to help us, even calling the district manager, unfortunately to no avail.) The parent company/online services/customer service is a complete nightmare. Every timeline set for our order was missed and not addressed. We had to contact them daily when they said they would email or call us. They NEVER contacted us during this NIGHTMARE. After weeks of trying to get our OVERDUE wedding invitations we could not get anything from them other than we are talking to our vendor, your order is marked as "hot" blah blah blah. Finally at 19 days out from the wedding date we got them to send us a printable PDF of the invitation ordered and we took it to Kinkos where it is being printed as we speak. We should have looked at The Knots reviews of Paper Source which are dismal with nightmare after nightmare. Our situation is sadly not unique. We will never use this company again and highly suggest no one else open themselves up to their incompetence. read more
