First time reviewing after going here for big occasions for years! I most recently visited for their Valentine's Day Craft session and I had such a good time! I made some concrete coasters from scratch while I sipped an espresso martini. The service is prompt, and the specialists are also really kind and knowledgeable. The crafts range from simple to complex, and every craft is very independent! Avoid if you're not into loud noises as the work space is a little small and others and their crafts will be making lots of noise! (Especially the hammer for the leather works!) I've never had a drink here I didn't love, but the espresso martini especially is one of my favorites in the city. Really mellow flavor and very foamy. The Craftery is perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, and date nights. Next time skip the fancy dinner and make some concrete coasters instead! It is nice to see The Craftery continue to thrive at Nulu Marketplace. While I am creative, I am not a craft person. Things don't turn out the way my brain envisioned them and I find myself more frustrated than inspired. The shop offers various items to craft and once purchasing the project, the supplies are provided. Long tables fill the space. Drinks and cocktails are available for purchase and you can bring in food or order from nearby restaurants. My recent visit they hosted drag bingo during Pride month. The staff were amazing and kept the drink line reasonable. I also loved their generosity in donating two visits to the bingo winners. read more

In town from Chicago- I did not do the crafts, but I stepped in and could see many people enjoying themselves. Sounds of hammering and pounding, so much fun! To be honest, I just wanted a drink, so I came in because they have a full bar. We got two Tito's sodas, great pours and even better prices. The sweetest husband and wife helped me. The Craftery is a DIY bar that serves alcohol in Nulu. They offer special event classes and open sessions where you can make a craft from their available options. My husband and I visited last night for a special event that we pre-booked online. I follow them on instagram and find it the easiest way to see what they have going on. The space is wide open with plenty of seating options... bar, high top and low top tables. There are two bathrooms that were well stocked and very clean. We booked a sugar cookie decorating class with Louisville Cookie Company. I liked that the teacher demonstrated overhead with TV & wore a microphone for all to hear. My husband and I really enjoyed this new experience for a midweek date night. During the class staff rounded tables for drink orders and delivered while we worked. They offered classic & seasonal cocktails for purchase. The cocktails we had were delicious and fairly priced. The Craftery does not serve food but you are able to bring your own in. The Craftery is a great addition to the Nulu area. We are looking forward to coming back for a DIY project. read more

A really fun time with a good variety of crafts and drinks! The Craftery is a concept that I'm shocked I haven't seen before. You choose a craft kit, make it your own, toss back a couple of very well-priced drinks, and have a blast talking with your friends. Crafts range from string art, to painting based on stencils, to concrete castings, leatherwork, and more budget-conscious things like bracelet making and embroidery. There's a reasonably wide variety of patterns and options as well as all of the tools and materials you'll need to make and customize. All the servers are also craft helpers. They were instrumental in helping me get my concrete to the correct consistency as well as brought our table a pitcher of mimosas! Couple tips: 1. Grab one of the hanging aprons if you're going to work with messy materials. My wife had a paint pen splash when she opened it and was able to recover, but a different color might have been an issue for continued enjoyment. 2. Time out your craft with the rest of your group. For instance, string art comes as a board, a stencil and some nails. It is going to take you a bit to get that ready compared to others who might be done in a couple hours. I will definitely be back! What a fun and cute date night!!! My fiancé found this place on Google and we decided to give it a try while we were in town. The ladies were so patient and helped us finish our masterpieces (even if that meant that they had to stay after closing). The cocktails and mocktails are great! We had so much fun and can't wait to go back again for the next project. Highly highly recommend this place!! Great ambiance and great customer service. Had a fun time crafting on a weekend afternoon. Wasn't quite sure what to expect but ultimately was pleased with the experience. I was hoping for more instruction with the craft, but staff did help when I asked them directly. Basically, they check you in, you sign a waiver, and they show you where you'll sit. You look over the craft and drink menus while staff checks in everyone else scheduled for that session. Staff move around the room and takes everyone's drink order first, then after drinks are delivered, they come around for craft orders. This setup meant we didn't start the actual crafting until 30min after we arrived. Everyone gets a packet with instructions and the supplies unique to their chosen craft. Other supplies are located on the table and around the room. It's a bit of a free for all and if you want help or a second drink, you need to be proactive. Checkout was a bit chaotic, with the next session's guests checking in and us cashing out and only one staff member taking care of all that. Overall, I'm glad I tried it. read more

This place is so awesome! First it's back in a cute little alley and alcove and it's so well decorated. The inside is so cute too! We went in and got to pick from a drink menu and a craft menu and they had everything we needed and didn't press us to finish or rush. I went to the Craftery with friends and got a new macramé hanging plant holder ($34). It was one of the easier crafts that took 45 minutes to 1 hour. I also got a cran-ginger mimosa. The projects are completely DIY. You use the directions to complete the project of your choice and get help as needed. I definitely enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Learning leatherworking at the Craftery! It was hard to decide what to make because there were so many great options ⁣Finally settled on a custom leather flask cover for some Apple Pie moonshine. The two women working the night that myself & family were there, 09/30/25- we the most rude, snooty, hateful women that I have had the displeasure of meeting in quite some time. Even when it came to checking out, they were so hateful so rude rolling their eyes about anything that I said she had a fit because I went to sign my credit card receipt. OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a fun adventure this was!! The Craftery was one stop of my daughter's bachelorette party and what a great choice it was! Everyone had a blast and created something special to take home! There are many craft projects from which to choose (leather items, macramé items, string art, beaded jewelry, painted wooden signs and more) and at several price points. ALL of the materials to complete your chosen project are provided, even necessary power tools! Step-by-step instructions are provided for completing the project, but the staff are super helpful and will help you if you are craft-challenged like myself! Did I mention that to add to the fun of creating something special you can enjoy a cocktail or beer? There is bar with local beers and ciders, and creative cocktails from which to choose (note to self, lighten up on the alcohol when you are attempting to tie macramé knots! ) The shop was very clean (including the restroom) and organized and staff remained masked at all times. This is a craft store where you pick a project, they provide all tools & supplies that you need, & you then you create your masterpiece. Don't worry, the staff is there if you need help. I had a wonderful time at The Craftery! The staff was welcoming from beginning to end. My sister, friend, and I were welcomed by a friendly staff who lead us to our tables and retrieved our drink orders in a good time frame. We were given an extensive craft menu that entailed a wide variety of crafts from woodworking, painting, string art, macrame, jewelry, or leatherworking. I chose a leather bookmark, my sister chose to do a decorative wood bottle opener, and my friend chose to do a leather flask holder. With each craft, you get a bucket filled with your supplies and step-by-step directions with visuals. My sister and my friend were happy with their crafts and they were executed well. The only shortcoming was my craft supplies ran out. I only had the option to do half the craft and the directions did not align with the second option supplies. Since I'm an artist - this wasn't too intimidating or frustrating but for someone that doesn't have this type of experience, I would understand why they would be disappointed or frustrated. Overall we had a great time. The staff was easily attainable for help. I'm sure I will return with more friends in the future. read more

What a fun event, Crafting with a Drag Queen at the Craftery. My friend and I had a blast. It was a vibrant evening, festive and productive. We bought tickets to make a putz house scene on a Tuesday night. A really mixed crowd of great folks who all were all given the necessary supplies to complete the putz house scene along with step by step instructions. It always amazes me that in a room of 40+ folks all working on the same project, how different each finished product was, one cuter than the next. May O'Nays, our Drag Queen Host was vivacious, fun, sweet and entertaining. He did a couple of karaoke tunes that were hilarious, gave instructions, share about his life and was a all around gracious host. The staff of the Craftery were also very helpful and took good care of all of us, making and serving specialty cocktails and helping in any way else that was needed. I had done a take home craft from here before but this was my first in person event. You can pop in any time and if there are open spots you and can pick a craft and walk out with a finished product with the Craftery providing all the supplies you need to complete a leather, wood, string, metal, etc craft. This is also a bar so you can drink while you are crafting. Located in NuLu parking is on the street or the back parking lot off Main Street. Our event was ticketed and the fee was $40. I'm very disappointed in my experience here today. On July 23rd I reserved the "Makers with Mimosas" 12-3 time slot for August 25th for a group of 15 girls. After some changes with the group I emailed on August 6th and asked to change the number of people to 10 and the management team thanked me for the update in the reservation. In the same email, I also asked if the reservation meant we had to show up at 12:30 (this is the latest check in time you are able to choose on the website for the 12-3 slot) or if we just had to show up and complete crafts within the time frame. This was previously allowed, but I knew management had changed so I wanted to do my due diligence, and not just assume. The management team responded on August 8, and said "Yes, that is still fine!!" *emailing with management was timely and helpful* When we showed up today, the staff members were very rude to us when we tried to check in. One staff member said "I had you down for 12:30", and I responded that I had checked with the management team previously and had our later arrival approved and offered to show the email correspondence. The staff member just said "no one told me that" and walked away. Once they came back, they told us to sign waivers and go sit in the back empty table. We did so, and a different staff member came to the table and asked if it was still 15 people, which confirmed the first staff members issue of "no one told me" regarding the email correspondence. We decided to leave after three staff members made it very evident our party was not welcomed (we had not ordered anything yet). I let the staff member know we were going to head out because we didn't want to inconvenience them any further and everyone in our party was very uncomfortable. The tune completely changed to positive and "no you all are totally fine!" Don't get me wrong, I know we all have bad days. I do my best to be understanding; especially because I know how much it can suck to work in customer service but the response from all three staff members seemed a bit uncalled for. This was a nice outing on a Sunday for my girlfriends and I. There is a drink menu but no food. However, there are food options next door and on Market St. Audrie and Anna were the two staff members who helped us along with Rebecca who was in training. It is located in the Nulu marketplace. They opened September 2020 and the grand opening of marketplace was April 2021. There's a nice brewery that has beers from local brewery West Six. A pizza spot is next door and also a sandwich eatery next to that. So basically here you select a craft to do and they help you get it done. We did various crafts. Myself and my sister did the bookmarks. They were a nice leather. It was pretty busy so we had to keep flagging the workers down for assistance. They always came over within 2 minutes to assist. We had a great time eating our pizza from next door, sipping mimosas and crafting. Would highly recommend. read more

This "hipstery" (I mean that in a good way" bar was fun, bright, and crafty lol. The drinks here were were really good, well balanced, and appropriately priced. I had the Tanner, this was a good recommendation from the bartender. Not too sweet, not to spirit forward, and refreshing. We didn't get to do any crafts due to the volume of people there that day. i came to here after visiting a very similar place in colombus ohio. i had high hopes it would be similar and i was met with mixed results. my main complaint is my friend made the id wallet and her needle broke three times, preventing her from finishing. they replaced the needle every time but didn't do anything more than help. i know that there are special needles for leather and i didn't expect closely, but it didn't look like that's what they used. this is the main reason they lost two stars, she payed for a craft she couldn't even finish. i made bookmarks and had a great time! unfortunately they're stamping kits for letters were both missing letters so i couldn't use the same font for them. besides that, everyone was very nice and always answered our questions with a smile! read more

What a great interactive space! They are located in the NULU Marketplace, which you can access from Main or market. It's a nice courtyard setup in the middle of the block. The Craftery did such a nice job hosting the Yelp event yesterday. It's a big, open, airy workspace with access to many different crafts and a nice assortment of beverages. I'll post pictures of all of the craft choices and beverage options. We got to use paint pens on a tall Blue moon glass. A group of guys were busy painting some wood plank wall hangings & drinking beer at a table nearby. It's nice that The Craftery has projects everybody can get into. It was AWESOME. we could each pick our own craft from a menu of options, and all of the supplies were included. You can choose your own stain for wood projects, and choose from a wide variety of paint colors if you're painting something. The ladies at The Craftery got us set up quickly, and were available to help us with any questions or oopsies. Plus, you can drink while you craft! It was a blast! Cool idea for a 'bar'. Fun to try one. They offered a good range of projects. The instructions are ... good ... but I think the estimated time range for how long each project takes is off. Would recommend checking before your group commits so other are not waiting while one is half way finished. They staff is VERY helpful if you get stuck. Everything is ready to take home with you.
