A really fun time with a good variety of crafts and drinks! The Craftery is a concept that I'm shocked I haven't seen before. You choose a craft kit, make it your own, toss back a couple of very well-priced drinks, and have a blast talking with your friends. Crafts range from string art, to painting based on stencils, to concrete castings, leatherwork, and more budget-conscious things like bracelet making and embroidery. There's a reasonably wide variety of patterns and options as well as all of the tools and materials you'll need to make and customize. All the servers are also craft helpers. They were instrumental in helping me get my concrete to the correct consistency as well as brought our table a pitcher of mimosas! Couple tips: 1. Grab one of the hanging aprons if you're going to work with messy materials. My wife had a paint pen splash when she opened it and was able to recover, but a different color might have been an issue for continued enjoyment. 2. Time out your craft with the rest of your group. For instance, string art comes as a board, a stencil and some nails. It is going to take you a bit to get that ready compared to others who might be done in a couple hours. I will definitely be back! Its a great way to spend time with friends doing a thing!

What a fun and cute date night!!! My fiancé found this place on Google and we decided to give it a try while we were in town. The ladies were so patient and helped us finish our masterpieces (even if that meant that they had to stay after closing). The cocktails and mocktails are great! We had so much fun and can't wait to go back again for the next project. Highly highly recommend this place!! Great ambiance and great customer service. Parking is a bit tricky so get there early to find street parking.

There were some annoying customers but that didn't deter me from being an artist and a savant.

Had a fun time crafting on a weekend afternoon. Wasn't quite sure what to expect but ultimately was pleased with the experience. I was hoping for more instruction with the craft, but staff did help when I asked them directly. Basically, they check you in, you sign a waiver, and they show you where you'll sit. You look over the craft and drink menus while staff checks in everyone else scheduled for that session. Staff move around the room and takes everyone's drink order first, then after drinks are delivered, they come around for craft orders. This setup meant we didn't start the actual crafting until 30min after we arrived. Everyone gets a packet with instructions and the supplies unique to their chosen craft. Other supplies are located on the table and around the room. It's a bit of a free for all and if you want help or a second drink, you need to be proactive. Checkout was a bit chaotic, with the next session's guests checking in and us cashing out and only one staff member taking care of all that. Overall, I'm glad I tried it.

This place is so awesome! First it's back in a cute little alley and alcove and it's so well decorated. The inside is so cute too! We went in and got to pick from a drink menu and a craft menu and they had everything we needed and didn't press us to finish or rush. We got to spend our whole afternoon hanging out and crafting and it was so cute! I will be back!

I went to the Craftery with friends and got a new macramé hanging plant holder ($34). It was one of the easier crafts that took 45 minutes to 1 hour. I also got a cran-ginger mimosa. The projects are completely DIY. You use the directions to complete the project of your choice and get help as needed. I definitely enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It is a cool place to go with friends.

The staff was friendly and helpful, it was a fun environment and everyone there was super nice and having a great time! We did the concrete trinket tray and concrete coaster crafts and had a great time

Learning leatherworking at the Craftery! It was hard to decide what to make because there were so many great options ⁣Finally settled on a custom leather flask cover for some Apple Pie moonshine. Each person gets a bucket with the supplies and a photo guide of how to do the crafts. The staff were knowledgeable and encouraging. This is definitely a place I'd love to come back to again & again in Nulu. Perfect for making one of a kind gifts or spending quality time with someone.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! What a fun adventure this was!! The Craftery was one stop of my daughter's bachelorette party and what a great choice it was! Everyone had a blast and created something special to take home! There are many craft projects from which to choose (leather items, macramé items, string art, beaded jewelry, painted wooden signs and more) and at several price points. ALL of the materials to complete your chosen project are provided, even necessary power tools! Step-by-step instructions are provided for completing the project, but the staff are super helpful and will help you if you are craft-challenged like myself! Did I mention that to add to the fun of creating something special you can enjoy a cocktail or beer? There is bar with local beers and ciders, and creative cocktails from which to choose (note to self, lighten up on the alcohol when you are attempting to tie macramé knots! ) The shop was very clean (including the restroom) and organized and staff remained masked at all times. Parking is available behind the building and all around the Nulu neighborhood.

Disclaimer: I am severely unartistic and I even had fun here!!! The Craftery is located in the Nulu Marketplace so a great location near some awesome restaurants. The inside is very cute and artsy with long tables for you and your friends to craft at. My fiancé and I went here with another couple this past fall and it was such a fun double date idea! We picked our crafts from a long list of options, ordered some seasonal drinks from the bar, and got to work crafting! We had so much fun and lots of laughs here and would totally recommend it for a date night or girls activity!

Omgosh!! The Craftery is the most fun I have had in a while. Super cute, fun, & a great place to hang out & be creative! My niece & I enjoyed the afternoon there. This is a craft store where you pick a project, they provide all tools & supplies that you need, & you then you create your masterpiece. Don't worry, the staff is there if you need help. It has a bar with great drinks & you can bring in food (bonus: Emmy Squared next door has great pizza)! We made a macrame hanger & planter. It was a fantastic afternoon (open air venue is a bonus as well). I highly recommend checking it out.

And finally my husband and I got to take in new class last week -- "Monetizing Your Home with AirBnB." We had been thinking about maybe one day renting out one of the units in our duplex through AirBnB. This seemed like a great opportunity to dip our toes in a bit. That's really one thing I very much appreciate about Level Up Louisville -- the range of class topics. So for $35 each, we got spots in the class, which met in the home of a local AirBnB superhost. The dozen or so of us started with a glass of wine and chatting in our host's gorgeous Old Louisville kitchen. And then we went up to her AirBnB unit, which was an expertly decorated top-floor studio. Up there, we talked about a range of topics, such as selecting guests, fixing up your unit, deciding what aspects of a unit to invest in, what to do about problem guests, what permits you need, etc. By the time we left, my husband had an entire page of notes, and we had so much more to think about than we had originally expected. When we left, my husband even remarked how impressed he was and how the class was worth every penny of the $70 we spent. It's safe to say that this class won't be my last. One other quick thing to note: If you take a class, don't be "that guy," who comes in as a student but ends up taking over the class, mansplaining all over the teacher. We get it -- you know things. But if you're over-talking the host, speaking up more to try and answer other students' questions rather than ask your own, you are not helping. We didn't pay to hear you speak; we paid to hear her.

I was actually able to take a free tour here and learn about This place while on a parent Led 8th grade class graduation celebration for my oldest daughters class. While walking around a worker From maker 13 stopped us and asked us if we wanted to come in and take a tour on This surprisingly chilly late April evening. The kids and parents all obliged and we really enjoyed the tour. The kids were very attentive and asked a lot of good questions about the program and got to witness some local artist perform their work and craft. The studio is basically a rent an office place for artists ranging from designers, computer techs, wood workers and other skills im not familiar with. They do offer summer program and things for youth to come in and work and have a space as well. While on the tour they did have some sodas and snacks for sell which all the hungry teenagers obliged in as well. I believe these type of events are more about the experience. They can be fun for a group event with family, friends or co-workers. CONS: It is in the basement, so there are no windows (if that is something that bothers you). The instructor talked too much (personal, not conversational), and would disappear unexpectedly at different times. She only came around a couple of times to offer tips and assistance, and seemed a bit impatient. The setup was a bit awkward from some viewpoints, as there are pillars in the middle of the room. They have monitors to assist, but it can still be hard to see what they're doing, and the "color chart" was impossible to see for most of us. It felt like we spent a lot of time mixing colors, and then quickly dabbing the paint on canvas to catch up with the instructor. We felt rushed. I believe the sessions are supposed to be 2.5 to 3 hours, but we were there about 2 hours at most. PROS: It's in the heart of downtown Jeff, near great restaurants and the Big 4 walking bridge, all in walking distance. There is a lot of free parking nearby as well. There were bright paintings all down the hallways, and in the large basement studio, which cheered up the space. It was neat and clean, and everything was easily accessible. The instructor was friendly and joked around with us some. She put on a playlist of music, which was her own choice of hits but she offered to put on something we would like if we wanted. We had a good time joking off and on while we tried to follow along. We all ended up with different results, and had fun being together and laughing at our mistakes. Overall, we had fun, but because that is what we brought into it. A big part of these experiences does lie with the instructor (or host you could say) and their skill at hospitality as well as art. I admit I wouldn't return if I knew the same instructor or someone similar was leading it. (She mentioned several times that she was the owner's daughter.) Opinions and experiences are subjective, so you should check it out for yourself.

Plenty of free public parking located across the street as well as behind the building. Enter through the glass doors and travel down the stairs to a welcoming art space in the basement. The instructor greeted us and directed us to pick out our paints, protective aprons, and brushes and we chose our easel stations. They also sell wine and beer and snacks and frequent take breaks as needed during the evening to accommodate refreshment and stretching your legs after sitting for an hour. I chose a $6 glass of Cabernet and the entire paint session is typically 2-1/2 to 3 hours long. I also purchased a really cute t-shirt for $15, which supposedly can be custom ordered in various colors, sizes, and multiple designs. An inspiration picture is displayed at the front of the classroom and the instructor provides step-by-step instructions to replicate the image. Our instructor was Moira for this particular project, and she was very helpful in providing individual assistance as needed or requested. Her expertise was very helpful! As you can see from my impressionistic version of the original piece, art is in the eye of the beholder! I had fun, which was my main objective here.
