Long version: I was originally apprehensive because I couldn't find any reviews for Dana, and when I saw she worked 16 years as a midwife I worried she would be like some of my previous psychiatrists/doctors who made me feel uncomfortable about not wanting children or about being gay. But I really needed an appointment ASAP and she was the soonest available so I went out on a limb and I am sooo glad I did. Dana was absolutely wonderful. I have very bad anxiety and find it difficult to talk to people and I'm easily put off, but Dana was incredibly easy to talk to, kind, understanding, and she made me feel comfortable right away. I never felt judged, dismissed, or pressured. I felt listened to and respected, which made a huge difference. You can really tell she cares! I highly recommend paperflower to anyone. If you are looking for neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQIA+ affirming Psychiatry care I highly recommend Paperflower Psychiatry! I was first referred to Paperflower by my Counselor at Neurodiverse Counseling Services and I couldn't be happier. In the past, I have felt like the monkey in the middle screaming at the top of my lungs being tossed back and forth between Psychiatry and Neurology for most of my life. Neither of them truly listening. Most Psychiatry places I've been to hardly look at my history and barely spend 15 minutes with me before making a diagnosis/treatment plan but Tabitha actually took the time to read everything I sent her ahead of our scheduled appointment time. My intro evaluation was scheduled for full 90 minutes. She even went 30 minutes over on that time wanting to make sure she was through in her evaluation and answering all my questions! I like that she doesn't want to change more than one medication at a time. The plan is to taper off the unnecessary medication slowly and taper onto the correct medication slowly. I have had providers change too much to fast and my brain did not respond well. Turns out, my suspicions were correct. I was been misdiagnosed with a mood disorder as a teenager and medicated incorrectly for last 20 years when it was actually Autism and ADHD! Finally, at 34 years old I feel heard and seen! read more

My whole life, it's been my pcp prescribing me medication. I tried a psychiatrist once and it as horrific so I was discouraged from trying one again. Billing is a NIGHTMARE. I have been over charged and misbilled on 4 occasions and I have only been a patient for a month and a half. The customer service is a joke. Good luck getting a response from them. And they do their billing on Fridays, so you have 2 whole days where you can't do anything about it. No one here cares. Do not go here. I regret it so much, but now I'm screwed because it will take months to get in somewhere new and start all over and mess up my meds. But I'm pretty sure they count on that. I found the Paperflower intake appointment, which lasted over an hour and a half, to be uncomfortable and excessive. I would say over half of questions they asked were not relevant to prescribing medication which is why my therapist referred me to them. Maybe if they were providing actually talk therapy but not for meds. You need my kids names, why my marriage failed and where I have lived to prescribe meds? I was referred to this practice and I asked her not to refer them again to anyone else. The first time was a little chaotic but I managed to make it through. I was going to a psych with a prior diagnosis already in place from a therapist that she knew about in advance. She started her series of questions after listening to me go on about my background for too long then ran out of time and quickly wrapped things up after being given an hour and a half. So she ran out of time. Come to find out, she tested for everything except for the diagnosis this therapist and I had landed on and spent months discussing. I was able to still get her to write a letter stating I had this diagnosis so my then short term goals were achieved and I didn't care for follow up at the time. Decided to actually take a closer look at my health after being blessed with some time to do so and was interested in three new diagnoses including the one she didn't test me for before. I wanted to know for sure. Asked psych if she would retest me, she said yes and referred me to appointment page. Scheduled an eval appointment. Had new insurance but know most insurance is shit and it wouldn't get covered so I wrote I was likely self pay. Fine. Got an email from office asking if this was a follow up or eval. I said maybe follow up but new eval and follow ups were only a half hour. I knew she wasn't going to get through three diagnoses in a half hour given she ran out of time last time. Come to find out I got no follow up email or was asked if I would like to reschedule--I just got an appointment email stating my appointment had been rescheduled for a different time and for a different reason. So I reached out and said why is my appointment time and reason being changed without my knowledge? Besides being unethical because it's a medical appointment there could be some violations of hipaa going on there. I had to go back in and reschedule to change the reason and time for the appointment. The office lady continued to try to tell me that the time hadn't changed (it had, to a new start time a half hour later according to the email I got) and that the duration was an hour (even though the email also stated only a half hour time frame) I continued to be upset I was informed before this notification came through and I didn't approve this change. I told her I was happy to pay for the hour and a half and if we stopped earlier we stopped earlier but an hour and a half to an hour wasn't going to kill anything and I'd rather have the extra time just in case. I continued to argue that this wasn't a follow up on my previous appointment as it was a new evaluation and as I had new insurance it really didn't matter if there was limits for eval unless for some reason insurance wants me to see a new psychiatrist every time I want to check out a new diagnosis. All in all, going in and changing your patient's appointment times, reasons and timeframes is unethical if not a hipaa violation and I definitely don't recommend this place if this is the kind of business practices the owner promotes. I've been seeing Ally for a year (literally on september 5th) and I cannot recommend her or paperflower psychiatry enough. Ally has been nothing but kind, patient, caring, funny... the absolute best provider I have seen. She always works with me - when I'm doing well and when i'm not doing well. I have never felt more comfortable with a provider. She always works together with me when i have concerns, never pushes medication, and truly listens without judgement (even when my thought process is maybe wrong.... sorry homie). she has been consistently responsive when i send emails with concerns or questions (she has an auto reply so EVERY CLIENT is aware she too has a life outside of work and is also deserving of setting boundaries for her own mental health... they aren't crisis workers).
