Paperie and Pen carries a luscious supply of local and small press stationary. Beyond unique cards for every occasion and stationary that will inspire the desire to take up good ol' fashioned letter writing, they have a beautiful supply of journals, gift wrap, and other tasteful paper products. If you're the sort of person who fancies putting pen to paper, this is your spot. Most recently, I wandered into Paperie and Pen during the holidays in search of Christmas cards from a local letter press. They had a beautiful supply of individual and boxed holiday card sets from a variety of small letterpresses. After some searching, I found some lovely options from local letterpress, Ladybug Press. With my boxes in hand, I began to venture toward the cash register. But, wait! Are those local tees from Banana Ink? Yes. Yes, they are. They have a nice selection of locally printed tees. Banana Ink works with local artists and designers to create a line of Idaho inspired tees, hoodies, hats, and other wearables. And, while, you could make the trip to downtown Boise to their shop to pick something up--it's nice to know that their stuff can be found in Meridian as well! I was able to find an awesome tee for a Christmas gift. I also noticed that they carry a range of beard products from local barber shop, The Beardsmith. A little unlikely, perhaps, but pretty awesome to see this local business so supportive of other local businesses (really amazing ones to boot!). They also do a variety of fun and crafty workshops on occasion (ie: In February, they're offering a Modern Calligraphy workshop). Such a gem of a stationary shop! Owners Frannie Wilson and Nichole Schoener are local young women who have put their hearts into this stationary, paper goods, invitations and gifts store. It shows in not only the careful choices in the product lines they carry but in the friendly greeting and stellar service extended once you go inside. Even if you're only browsing to gather nothing in particular but in particular if you're on a hunt to acquire a specific thing they are really helpful in trying to match you up with the right selection in their beautifully merchandised space. This would be a particularly good store for you if you're looking for printed invites for something like a wedding or big wing-ding. I can't imagine a store with better choices or more expert, friendly staff were that the thing you needed. I used to be a prodigious writer of snail mail letters and sent all kinds of greeting cards all the time. That ship has largely sailed for me but were I still in that mode, this would be a favorite stop in. Their selection includes cards for every possible occasion you can imagine and some occasions you wouldn't have thought of until you see the card for that thing. As example, and to be indelicate, a card with a title that included a headline to "F(Insert obscene verb) Cancer" and then supportive and sweetly humorous phrase that followed that was the perfect choice for a friend who just had a double mastectomy. (She teaches middle school and the language is frequently used there. :-) ) They also have a lusciously large selection of printed paper sheets that can be used for wrapping gifts, or books to jazz them up for shelf displays or even worthy of framing for casual settings. They have all kinds of other gift tags and bags too. Their price points are fair for the quality they carry, but there are some prices on greeting cards that suggest they are only going to appeal to the card zealot...as I once was myself. I'm rooting for these nice young women to make it in this store. The Village at Meridian mall is not my favorite place for convenience to pop in and out and that's where they're located so it needs to be a destination trip to shop here. The store is huge, with an industrial vibe of exposed ducting overhead and big windows letting in all kinds of great light. Given the size I imagine their rent is hefty. And they have competitors for some products, like cards and papers and gift bags, at chain-big-box-world import stores that are in more convenient 'pop in to pick it up' locations where prices will be lower. But you get what you pay for at Paperie and Pen in great service, fun vibe and excellent quality hard to find goods that are unique to this store. If you value supporting local, shop here. Paperie and Pen - Cards & Stationery Near Me

This little store in The Village sells stationery, wrapping paper, and a few other doo-dads. They have beautiful cards by Letter Press, Kate Spade, Rifle Press, and other high-quality printers. They certainly aren't cheap, at about $4.00 per individual card, but they're on creamy paper with vibrant ink that will last a long time and show that you put a lot of thought into the card you sent. There are different funny and quirky sayings among cards that are fun to peruse. They don't actually have a very big selection, so if you're hoping to find just the right note, you might be disappointed, but what they do have spans a fairly broad range. They also offer journals, some Idaho merchandise like prints and t-shirts, and wrapping paper. If you need wedding invitations or some party planning help with paper goods, they also offer services there. They'll deal with floral arrangements, as well. The staff I've met have been friendly and love to talk about cards without seeming pushy or like they were hovering. The store feels big and a little empty right now. With as little merchandise as they have, it's hard to make a special trip out there just for a card or two when Target has Papyrus which is about the same price and, to me, is more fun. However, this space is locally owned and it's nice to support two women who love nice stationery. Check it out. read more

I am in love with this store! We had Frannie design our wedding invitations and she came up with the most beautiful invites. I am still in ah with how classy, unique and beautiful they are. I thought this shop was a chain, since it is so dang put together and cute, but no it's a local place from good ole Boise, even better! My husband and I hired Paperie + Pen to design our wedding invitations, and wedding day signage. We were very happy with how everything turned out! Frannie was extremely patient (took us a little while to decide and nail down the design:)), creative and helpful in guiding us through design options, pricing etc. All of the signage flowed well without being too "matchy matchy". We were shown tons of paper types, textures, embossed lettering, calligraphy and styles -- in a very organized manner. It could have been overwhelming, but it was obvious that wasn't their first rodeo ;) Paperie + Pen are such a treat to work with. We worked with Nichole to design our Mountain themed-Montana wedding invitations and she did an AMAZING job! She sat with me for an hour when I only had a 15 minute appointment and helped me plan out the perfect invitations. She sent us the proofs very quickly and made the changes we asked for with only a 1-2 day turnaround. The finished product was so beautiful and is something that we will frame on our wall!
