Bushes that know how to defend themselves.

Very wide beach with quite ample parking and room to roam. If you're looking for shade beware the keavi branches strewn beneath the underbrush- spiked little bastards. Very quiet, a bit windy. Too turbulent for snorkeling but a fantastic place to have pretty much to yourself as long as you'd like.

It's longest beach with least crowd you can find anywhere in Hawaiian island. Beautiful colors! Facing Oahu island, it is located on the west of Molokai. It's said to be 3-miles long, but with our fitness tracker's estimate, it is about 2.2 miles. Nonetheless it's a wonderful walk to slow down and have the best down time.

Great views of the west side! You can even see Oahu on a clear day. Great facilities as well - parking, trash cans, bathrooms, picnic tables and bbq. Not too far of a walk from the parking lot and very flat if you were going to bring a stroller or wheel chair. Beach itself is pretty but too rough to swim in. There were hardly and people when we went and it is a very large stretch of beach so we were all able to sprees out well!

We were here at the end of October, so water not inviting for swimming or snorkeling. Heavy current / waves.

The cleanest beach I've ever been to out of ALL the islands I've been to in the Hawaiian Islands. Even the restroom, shower, changing area was absolutely clean. (Wish the toilet stalls had doors tho.) We were the only car in the parking lot. Local deer and turkeys wandering through the beach park.

One of my favorite beaches. Very nice sand and the view is incredible. Can't really go into the water for parts of the beach and the current is pretty strong at certain parts of the beach.

Absolutely huge beach. We were the only car in the parking lot and had the beach to ourselves on a Sunday afternoon. The beach is very wide but it does have some rocky areas so it may not be the greatest for swimming with kids but it is huge in both directions. It is a very nice drive out there as well. A great place to come and relax and spend the day and enjoy Molokai.

About a mile or so long of white sand beach with almost no people. Absolutely breathtaking. There were about five other people visible along the stretch when we were there but only as specks in the distance. This is a true, hidden gem but beware! The elements were rough. The ocean, despite being almost totally rock free and swimmable, had QUITE a pull and churn and the wind was so strong that the sand battered our faces and bodies. Still, it was worth the visit and will forever remain one of the most stunning locales I've ever seen.

Longest, cleanest, most desolate beach in Hawaii. Few Tourists. Seashells in spring. Beach park with toilet showers BBQ nearby Kaluakoi Villas.

The view when we woke up Sunday morning. Beautiful weather with a perfectly clear sky!

I absolutely loved Papohaku Beach and Beach Park. The beach seems to be endless with smooth sand and the most amazing view. The beach park is green and beautiful ( PERFECT for camping) and the facilities (toilet and shower) for both men and women are great!! We weren't expecting much, but everything was beyond what we could've hoped for. Showers and toilets are clean and well maintained. Watch out for toads during the night though. They seemed to creep out of their hiding spots during the night. Overall, if you're going to Moloka'i and are tempted to stay a night in the outdoors, camp here on the west side of the island! It's beautiful and perfect for a camp-out if you prepare in advance. Remember to shop groceries in town (Kaunakakai) before you head out because there are limited stores once you head out to the west side. There's a small shop in the Kepuhi Beach Resort (you'll see a sign directing you to the right if you drive from east to west). The shop is called "Da Store", but they only have certain supplies, not a huge selection of groceries. NOTE: You have to get a camping permit if you intend to camp here. It's $20 and you can either mail a check to them or pay it in their office. However, be sure to plan ahead, because they are not open in the weekends so if you'll be arriving after opening hours, you have to send the check to them and once they've received it they'll email you the permit.
