Been coming to this location over 12 years now. Don't even know why I never wrote a review, but I'm guessing it's because we go there so much that we don't even think twice because we enjoy it so much. Whenever or anytime we have guests in town and we know that enjoy Cajun cuisine, we always bring them here, if they haven't been to a Pappadeaux's. We come here for the food, but especially for the friendly staff members and managers that work here. Their instances far in between where sometimes things don't work out, like the kitchen or the type of service for example, they've always made it right here very friendly, very professional as long it's communicated they can fix it. And as far as locations go, we love the flavors here. Like maybe it's because of the demographics, but we feel like we get more taste and kick within the seasonings of the foods at this particular location. We tried them all throughout DFW area and this by far is our favorite. It's closer to where we live very convenient and as always, very clean and delicious with the signature Pappadeaux's decorations all around. We go to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen at least every 1-2 weeks, and we're honestly obsessed. The vibe is always on point, and the staff is consistently knowledgeable about the menu and great with recommendations. Last night was no exception -- everything was amazing. I ordered the salmon with king crab and asked for my salmon medium because I don't like it rubbery. Unfortunately, the texture just wasn't for me, and I could only manage a couple of bites. What really stood out though was the service. Our waiter immediately noticed and offered to get a manager to take the entrée off our bill. We told him it wasn't necessary, but he still went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. We also realized we didn't even check what time they closed (the boys made the reservation), and right as I was finishing my Bloody Mary, we asked for another. He came back and let us know the bar had already closed and said he wasn't sure why they didn't make a "last call." You could tell he was worried it might affect his tip, even though we reassured him it absolutely wasn't his fault. That level of service and care is exactly why we keep coming back. We were a party of 8 to celebrate Mardi Gras. Pappadeaux was unfortunately having a maintenance issue, and they were able to accommodate us shortly after our reservation time. We didn't' have to wait long which was good. Elizabeth was our server. She was so sweet. She told us the Mardi Gras specials they were having. I decided to go with a house salad, po-boy, gumbo, and swamp thing. This was my first time having a po-boy with fried catfish. It was better than I expected it to be. I normally enjoy Pappadeaux's, but the Duncanville location really needs to get it together when it comes to managing reservations and walk-ins for dine-in service. The host staff seemed unclear about how seating is supposed to work, especially regarding bar seating that is marked as "reservations only." There were multiple open seats sitting unused while walk-in guests were left waiting, and the hosts appeared hesitant or afraid to explain to guests when they needed to move from reserved bar areas. This caused unnecessary confusion and slowed down the entire dining flow. Instead of allowing guests to sit, order, and turn over tables efficiently, seats were left empty for no clear reason. This feels like a management and training issue more than anything. Clear communication, confident hosts, and better coordination between reservations and walk-ins would make a huge difference. Hopefully management addresses this, because it made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. read more

Pappadeaux's is a familiar name to so many. While in town for a conference, we chose to drop by Pappadeaux's for a meal. What a wonderful evening we had. The establishment was decorated for the holidays and created a warm elegant atmosphere. The host staff were welcoming and efficient. We were immediately seated and greeted by our server, Michael. He started by taking our drink order and bringing us fresh bread with butter. It was so good. I think it's safe to say the highlight of our visit was the exceptional service provided by Michael. He was knowledgeable about the menu and even made some excellent suggestions. His demeanor was kind, but not overbearing. Very thoughtful with questions that let us to have the most wonderful meal. We began our meal with the appetizer of calamari and octopus. It came with sides remoulade and marinara sauce. For dinner, we followed Michael's suggestion of the salmon Alexander. It was so good. We were seated with a group of approximately 20 friends and were seated promptly. Our waitress- whom I did not get a chance to notice her name - was simply wonderful. Upon reviewing the menu, I was disappointed with the lack of variety - which required me to narrow my choice down to the Rosemary Chicken or the breaded shrimp. I started off with a house salad which was ENORMOUS- and simply WONDERFUL! ! This is clearly the largest AND BEST salad that I have EVER enjoyed. Be sure to request that your salad is served now- and not with your meal . Trust me on this one. So I'm back with an update. I went back for Togo almost a week later (because sometimes people have bad days) and it was the same stuff. Except this time I ONLY ordered salad dressing! I ordered 4 containers of salad dressing and after 35 mins, received 3. How difficult is it to count to 4!? I called Pappas Corporate and asked to speak to Cris Reid (Guest Relations) and left a voicemail. Was called back maybe 2-3 days later from someone on her team that assured me the GM from the Duncanville location (Molly) would give me a call about my experience and guess what? After two weeks, still no phone call. The managers and management team here are nonexistent. They don't do table touches, they don't interact with guests. They don't check on anything. Do better before another business in this area gets shut down because of piss-poor customer service. read more

I've been to 3 of their locations in 2 different states and it's always an oddly disappointing experience. The service is always good but the food is below red lobster quality for tripple the price. My dirty rice was hard and my fried catfish was soggy, like wet steamed kinda soggy. The flavor of my sauce was good but the shrimp were rubbery. The Crab claws and keylime pie was delicious! My friend enjoyed her drink (swanp thing) alot and my iced tea did what it was supposed to. If I come back I'd stick with their salads as they always hit the spot. I don't like to leave bad reviews, but the experience at Pappadeaux's in Duncanville was so bad it felt necessary. We were told the wait would be 15 minutes. Fine. But that 15 turned into nearly 45 with no communication or update. When we asked what was going on, the two hostesses blamed a shortage of bussers. Meanwhile, multiple servers were standing around doing absolutely nothing. It was baffling -- any of them could have helped clear tables. We asked to speak to a manager. No one ever showed up. We walked up to the host stand again -- ignored. My friend tried to flag down a waiter -- he made direct eye contact and then just turned and walked away. I've never seen such blatant disregard. All of this happened on a Tuesday night. If they can't handle a light dinner service, I can't imagine what weekends look like. Save your time, your money, and your patience. From her smile, to warm receptions, suggestions on the menu and overall service was A1. She should be cloned or teaching the class on being a server. Food was so good. First time we came this early for lunch and everything was so fresh and delicious. We are leaving very satisfied today.
