Margarita on the rocks
Traci S.

We arrived around 5pm and had a party of 20 people. We were sat quickly but we were separated with a group of 13 and a group of 7 at different tables. I ordered the 3pc stuffed crab and a margarita on the rocks. Crab was pretty good although friend a tad bit long as it was pretty tough to cut through the crust. The margarita was okay but was quite tart, not something I expect from your average margarita. The staff were very accommodating and did take care of us promptly. I did happen to have a bite of the mozzarella stick appetizer and they were pretty dang amazing. Overall not a bad experience and I would definitely visit again if I were in the area.

Most of my food was delicious but the potatoes on the grilled octopus was not cooked enough for me. We have a great server and the establishment was clean.

We were a party of 8 to celebrate Mardi Gras. Pappadeaux was unfortunately having a maintenance issue, and they were able to accommodate us shortly after our reservation time. We didn't' have to wait long which was good. Elizabeth was our server. She was so sweet. She told us the Mardi Gras specials they were having. I decided to go with a house salad, po-boy, gumbo, and swamp thing. This was my first time having a po-boy with fried catfish. It was better than I expected it to be. It's just that the bread can fill you up so fast! I wasn't too fond of the gumbo.

I normally enjoy Pappadeaux's, but the Duncanville location really needs to get it together when it comes to managing reservations and walk-ins for dine-in service. The host staff seemed unclear about how seating is supposed to work, especially regarding bar seating that is marked as "reservations only." There were multiple open seats sitting unused while walk-in guests were left waiting, and the hosts appeared hesitant or afraid to explain to guests when they needed to move from reserved bar areas. This caused unnecessary confusion and slowed down the entire dining flow. Instead of allowing guests to sit, order, and turn over tables efficiently, seats were left empty for no clear reason. This feels like a management and training issue more than anything. Clear communication, confident hosts, and better coordination between reservations and walk-ins would make a huge difference. Hopefully management addresses this, because it made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be.

Sautéed Crab Fingers with savory grits

I had a great experience dining at Pappadeaux! I ordered the sautéed crab fingers with savory grits, and both came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. I also enjoyed a Swamp Thing cocktail that was perfectly balanced with just the right blend of alcohol and fruity notes. I chose to sit at the bar, which was a bit louder than the main dining area, but the lively atmosphere actually added to the experience. Parking was plentiful, making arrival easy and stress-free. The service was excellent--my waiter was attentive, friendly, and even brought out warm bread to start. Overall, a delicious and enjoyable visit. I'll definitely be back!

The crab cake was simply succulent and made my mouth water with delight.

The food at Pappadeaux has never disappointed us. Exceptionally clean and fresh with a nice presentation. We had a wonderful waiter who was very attentive. My only negative was the dessert that I enjoy here most of all, the Cream Brûlée was sold out.

We go to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen at least every 1-2 weeks, and we're honestly obsessed. The vibe is always on point, and the staff is consistently knowledgeable about the menu and great with recommendations. Last night was no exception -- everything was amazing. I ordered the salmon with king crab and asked for my salmon medium because I don't like it rubbery. Unfortunately, the texture just wasn't for me, and I could only manage a couple of bites. What really stood out though was the service. Our waiter immediately noticed and offered to get a manager to take the entrée off our bill. We told him it wasn't necessary, but he still went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. We also realized we didn't even check what time they closed (the boys made the reservation), and right as I was finishing my Bloody Mary, we asked for another. He came back and let us know the bar had already closed and said he wasn't sure why they didn't make a "last call." You could tell he was worried it might affect his tip, even though we reassured him it absolutely wasn't his fault. That level of service and care is exactly why we keep coming back. Always a great experience.

Wonderful experience this evening. We had a reservation and were seated as soon as we walked in the door. It was busy but not packed and the servers were busy delivering drinks and food non-stop. The food was delicious I have the Mardi Gras pasta and had plenty left overs. It was relaxing and not too loud. We will be back!!!

Oh my was the food scrumptious! Cooked fresh to order and our hostess was great. The decor fit all the variety of food you can order. It seems like a Louisiana feel with the music playing. The people were all enjoying the food and their company. I ordered the 2 piece Catfish and fried Butterfly Shrimp with fries. The restroom was very clean and loaded with all necessities. It was crowded but not too crowded. A perfect outing with friends and family. It did not disappoint.

This is about 50/50. The staff was polite, on the ball with returning calls and emails, organized,…read moreetc. They were even able to provide a photographer after ours had to back out. The day of the wedding, the place looked wonderful. There were a few glitches though and I have a few recommendations: 1. If you have dietary requirements...spell it out exactly and double-check. I asked for a couple of vegan options, and specified steamed vegetablese. The cooks sauteed the veggies in butter. (apparently either misunderstanding or being incorrectly informed). 2. The photographer's assistant managed to piss off most of my family by being so rude. And she actually ARGUED with the photographer, who LET HER. I nearly smacked her with my bouquet out of frustration. 3. Careful with the florist. I had no specifics beyond "orange and purple" and mentioned a few flowers i like and that I wanted a SMALL bouquet. I got one that must have weighed 10 pounds. All the other flowers were great, but mine was gaudy and too heavy to carry. 4. Ask them to leave you food for the reception. I had assumed the coordinators would leave a meal aside for my husband and I. They did not...we had to scrouge up cold scraps at the buffet. 5. Don't let them rush you. They hurried my husband and I through photos, cake, dances, etc. and were busy making memories we were not acutally having. In our dazed state, neither of us were able to say STOP. So have a friend do that for you. Otherwise, you won't get to see people that couldn't stay long and will have 2 hours to kill afterward with half your guests gone. There was NO reason for all the hurrying they did. 6. We had more photos of the DJ than our friends. And those photos we had were all POSED. No candid shots...just a bunch of people saying "cheese". So either get your own photographer or be VERY specific regarding what type of photos you want. Overall, they were very good. But these frustrations the day of the wedding detracted from a pleasant experience.

The people who work here are RUDE! This is a terrible place for weddings and special occasions…read morebecause they will RUSH you through your special moments and then kick you out the door. The worst part was that they really ripped us off!! Weddings are not cheap and the owners buy the cheapest version of things (flowers, candy, food, photographers) and then pocket the money. For example, we spent $200 on a candy bar, which consisted of a few red hots and starbursts and THEN they had the nerve to rip the leftover candy out of our hands when we tried to pack up the leftovers. These people are not classy and this is not the type of place you want to create precious memories!!! Consider yourself warned!!!!!

Who INTENTIONALLY does thing to upset a bride on her wedding day?!?!?!?!? We paid for an extra hour to set up. AFTER waiting for 40 minutes for her to arrive, the staff member casually strolls up offering no apology. We were told she was only 2 minutes away and would be there. She arrived 15 minutes after the call. The only compensation she offered to only charge half price. Lady, that's a rip off! You got there 40 minutes after the contractual AGREED time. Then you chose to be petty after being challenged by demanding money from my mom before she sat up the venue. The photographer wasn't allowed to turn the lights on to photograph the bride as she prepared for the ceremony. That's AFTER he was finally allow to go to that area. I believe we would've gotten better treatment at the courthouse.
