She was polished, knew the menu well, paid attention to detail, and had a warm, friendly personality. I brought my friend to Pappadeaux Seafood because Pappadeaux slipped out of my mouth. I really meant to do the BBQ. Since he doesn't eat fish and I don't eat fried food, we are limited to certain dishes here. He ordered Cajun Chicken Tenderloin over a bed of fries and I ordered a Greek Salad. Surprisingly, my salad came with 2 boiled shrimps. I can't tell if he liked his food because there were leftovers. He also complained about his drink. That Watermelon Crush was too strong and he drank half of it. My salad was really sour as the waitress squeezed 2 pieces of lemon over the salad before mixing it. I like the presentation on how she served it. However, the lemon pieces looked weird. Not sure if they were real lemon or something resembled lemon. I asked for the feta cheese to be on the side. Just because. The vinaigrette was also on the side which made it perfect for my taste. I enjoyed my salad as fresh as it can be. Service was good. They moved pretty fast and efficient. A manager even came to check on us. I think I will be back to try some fish dishes. read more

My favorite place of all time in Houston and I just have to come here every time. It's been a while since I've been here. The service from Kash was excellent. The food came out so hot you can see the steam. Everything was delicious 10/10 and the portions are big. I didn't want an appetizer but the table wanted to try the fondeaux with garlic bread and that was amazing!! The restaurant isn't loud very moderate noise level. So over time I've had a change of heart! I actually really appreciate Pappadeaux's. Overpriced slightly maybe but not over rated at all. I frequent here quite often now and even have My special seat for the family and I. Service and staff have been very pleasant from hostess who always recognizes and acknowledges Me to the waiters. * Feeling risqué order a 3 wheel motion or 2 'giggles' while waiting for food and thank Me later! $18 As for appetizers goes You just have : - Crab cake $30 - Crab and Spinach dip $20 - Oysters (raw) min of 4 $10 My go to use to be blackened salmon but after learning .. never mind I now just order the snapper with lemon butter $40 The kids menu is straight forward: * Shrimp or Fish - fried or grilled *Tenders Sides : fries, fruit, or white rice I must add the mashed potatoes and broccolini are by far the best sides! It never gets old. I stopped in for an early dinner. Some alligator fried to perfection crispy and hot. Some seafood gumbo because waiting until it's fall doesn't work for me. I love that when I have a craving I don't have to slave over a stove all day. I also got oysters but forgot to take a photo before I devoured them. This is my third time giving this location a try because I'm nearby, but 3 strikes you're out. My order ended up taking a very long time, I'm seeing people that came after me get their food. Eventually after 40 mins a young lady who identifies as the kitchen manager came over & explained that they had to remake my food. I can't even say that she apologized. Eventually my food comes out & she brings it to my table, still offering no apology, it was my waiter that apologized. At the end when the check was due there was no discount on the bill which I know could have been done, but wasn't. I spend good money here each time I come & the food never really tastes that good & the slow service has confirmed I will not be back. read more

Visited today and our server was D'Yani B. Our food was excellent (Seafood Platter, small shrimp, and Rainbow Trout - three of us). Having worked in a service industry for over 35 years I can honestly say our server made the experience for us. She was well spoken, patient, attentive, and went well above the call of duty to make certain our visit was great. Kudos to her hiring manager and for her dedication to her job. First off, the service was very quick during peak dinner time for this location not being the biggest Pappadeaux I've been to. We were seated quickly without a reservation and it did not take long for our waitress to attend to us. Love having the crackers on the table and the bread and butter they serve to start is nice, but the bread is on the harder side (my wife does not like hard bread). I had my favorite drink as always, The Grand Hennessy, and it did not disappoint. For the appetizer, we had the Crab and Spinach Dip which was delicious, but note we did switch out the bread it comes with for garlic bread because it's softer than the Parmesan crusted bread it originally comes with. Also, the dip was somewhat small for two people, especially for the price. For the entree we had the Pasta Mardi Gras and it was fantastically tasting with a decent portion size (we both took home leftovers). Overall, I recommend, but perhaps come during lunch or happy hour deals for cheaper pricing, as it can be pretty expensive for dinner. read more

I haven't been to this location in awhile. My bestie and I decided to have a lunch date on a whim and also #hunger. Perfect timing because everyone else was at work! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and then seated. Donna was our waitress, friendly and efficient. We ordered Ginger Salmon and Blackened Catfish & Shrimp Étouffée. Both were fresh and flavorful. Yep, you guessed it- cocktails were ordered. The Pineapple Refresher was a little too sweet for my liking. No drink left behind though. Went to Pappadeaux to celebrate two cousins birthday. It was good to be with family and friends. I had never been to this location. So the food was a bit different. I ordered a virgin strawberry daiquiri. There really was not much of a flavor until I was almost finished with it. Then I ordered Pasta Mardi Gras: Linguine tossed with crawfish, andouille sausage & crimini mushrooms in a marinara cream sauce topped with jumbo grilled shrimp. It was tasty and good though. Maybe my favorite Cajun place in Texas. It's a local chain, and offers fantastic interior decor with a great vibe. The seafood and Cajun selections are massive, so if you have trouble selecting you might want to review the menu before you go. The service we had was absolutely 5 star. While there are some cheaper options for equally good fried seafood along Westheimer, Pappadeaux is never a bad idea for a family outing. I personally loved the stuffed crab and blackened catfish on my last visit. And yes, the bread and butter is a great way to ease into your meal. Service can be hit or miss, especially when the order isn't always entirely correct coming back. And it's a pretty typical, casual seafood restaurant. We have Pappadeaux in a suburb of Chicago however we don't go because it's a good hour from our house. We were in Houston last week and I really wanted seafood so we came here. We had good drinks and crab cakes and calamari for appetizers, which were both excellent. They have a lot more fried dishes than I remembered, but I chose the crispy Atlantic salmon that they are currently advertising. It had shrimp, crab and scallops on top. It was delicious. Hubby had shrimp etouffee and catfish, which were so so. Our cousin had the mixed seafood grill and he ordered an extra skewer. That looked really good! The ambiance was quite loud and they were super busy so our service was only average. Our waitress was kind and tried to be accommodating for the long wait times so we were not upset with her. It took them a long time to bus tables after parties left, so that was a bit unappetizing. It wasn't the best experience but the food was good. We would try again. read more

Pappadeaux is one of our regular go to places to grab a bite to eat and drinks after our Saturday dance class. Our server was good and did well with taking everyone's orders for a big group of ladies. What wasn't done was bringing out a glass of water for everyone. We all ordered drinks but we shouldn't have to ask for water as well. That should be a given. I wanted to try everything on the Mardis Gras menu since it is limited edition. I liked the crawfish pies appetizer, especially that it had a slaw on top and the marmalade. The mahi was good but needed more bolder flavors. The sausage is what saved it from being bland. And for dessert the bread pudding was good! Overall good dining experience. read more

Not sure why the scores here are so low or if we are just lucky in the overall quality of food and service we receive but my wife and I really enjoy eating here! I'll keep this one short compared to my other reviews but the food tastes very good and is consistent when ordered which is SO important - knowing that what you ordered previously and loved will taste the same when you order it again! If I had any complaints it would be that the shrimp etouffee was a bit cold and runny. Did not taste very fresh. Staff are friendly and take good care of you! There's been some mistakes on our orders before and staff there own it and take care of it. You don't have to worry or feel anxious about reporting an issue to them as they always handle them so professionally. Hats off to the staff here! Ambiance I can't say too much about as of recent as we've not physically gone inside of this location in about a year now. But as I recall it was fine - no issues, was clean and well kept. I used to love coming to this place. The food and drinks were good. New management came in and took a lot of favorite food items off the menu and what's left is a BORING menu that makes this place not worth returning to. I went with my brother who came in from out of state and we both were looking forward to eating here. When we got the menu we both asked the waiter where the rest of the menu was, lol. He was very apologetic and said that most of their regular clientele were complaining about all the new changes and threatening not to come back. At least we weren't the only ones! Except, I'm definitely not going back with the current management. There's no point since nothing I, my brother, or my BF order is on the menu. Hard pass! This is a second location of the chain that I have tried and food was delicious! We always enjoy the complimentary French bread with butter & got the crab & spinach dip as an appetizer. My husband and I always get a salmon dish, Naked Salmon for him and Cobb Salad with salmon for me. This time we went with my family who also ordered the rib-eye steak with lobster & the half chicken. The rib eye entree was very generous & also comes with a massive baked potato. The half chicken was decent but I definitely recommend seafood or steak over it. read more

Overall a 3.5 but decided to round up because it wasn't bad enough to be a three. The place is decent for what it is. Very limited menu and pricey depending what you get. The crab cake is flavorful but mostly filling/breading. Also very pricey for the portion. The tilapia with lump crab and shrimp was also a 3.5 at best. Too salty for my taste. The green beans are okay if you prefer your vegetables blanched with little seasoning The service was good. Our server was new but definitely put in the effort. We ended up asking for a bigger table because we were originally seated at one of their small square tables for a group of four, which didn't have much arm space. Early dinner Saturday night! As soon as we walked in SO said to me "this place sucks". So I said let's go elsewhere. But he said nah we're already here it may be different this time. Hostess was very robotic no smiles maybe tired ‍ brought us to our seats. Dirty booth where the table hadn't been wiped down. Asked if it could be wiped, she mumbled something and walked away. But I did hear her ask for a busser. Our waitress Mya came over and graciously cleaned the table before serving us, cause the most likely overworked busser was busy. She was kind, patient and engaging. The stars are actually for her positive attitude. We had the flavored lemonades that were too tart! Food was ok nothing to write home about. 1st time at Pappadeaux and it will never be the last! This food was so amazing! My husband and I have eaten alot of fish, we are from the country, but this fish is absolutely delicious! The entire experience was great! I was able to make a reservation online, through seatninja (I think) and it was simple and easy, I even had to update my reservation and it was also simple to do right from my confirmation email! Super convenient!! Our sever was in training and let us know after a while, which we could tell because my husband and I have both mastered this type work, both past servers! But he did the best he could with the traffic in this place! The food was so fresh and well seasoned!! And to top it off it was cooked to perfection! My husband had the snapper topped with shrimp and I had the salmon, shrimp, scallops and dirty rice!! And how could I forget the alligator app! It was unique first experience and we thoroughly enjoyed. There was only 1 hiccup which turned out to be an upgrade! My husband received 2 beers to the table in nasty glasses! I had them sen back and on the 3rd beer the manager brought it to the table larger than what he ordered, in a clean glass, and removed from our bill!! Pappadeaux is that cajun delicious ness you are searching for! I'd consider Pappadeuax a little on the upscale side when it comes to its prices and vibes. Don't get me wrong, i've come and eaten here wearing joggers and a tee, but still, this isn't your hole in the wall, ally-way cajun joint. Pappadeaux is boojie! As you walk in to the westchase location, youll find plenty of seating, good vibes inside, and a feel that makes you think you're in New, Orleans. My girlfriend is an LA native, and to her, Cajun food is something exotic, so whenever she is in the H-town, Pappadeaux is a must! The bread and butter you get, is always delicious. Make sure to snag some of the saltines as well, to get your appetizer on. We are absolute étouffée addicts. You can't go wrong with the the crawfish or the shrimp étouffée. Although, I will say that I lean more towards the crawfish. Its so delicious, typically both orders of this are enough for both of us to share. Sharing is definitely caring when you see the high prices. No worries, its all worth it, give me a Sweet Tea on the side, and you'll find me singing some New Orleans Jazz! read more

I've never done this, but hoped to choose a nice meal to enjoy in the comforts of my home. The bartender asked me if medium rare was ok for my salmon - I exclaimed, yes med rare is perfect!
