pluckers has always been a must in my family. Wings are always great, and the fried pickles are the best!

My other pics are blurry whoops! So, I have never dined in at a pluckers. I have had it through like DoorDash. Usually it's from the Woodlands location. Today we decided to have a self-care day. It is also national tequila day. It was around 2:30 in the afternoon when we got there, the main dining room it was actually pretty full and so was the parking lot. There was only two of us the way it was five minutes, maybe. We were sat at a table, and our server, whose name was Nat she was so cheerful, and very friendly and welcoming. If we ever go to this location again to eat, and I certainly hope that she still works there because she had the best personality of anyone we interacted with that worked there. So we got the fried pickles and the fried cheese, which honest to God I've never seen cheese sticks that big in my entire life then we also ordered 20 wings. We brought 10 home. We were able to get four sauces for the wings. We got the Cajun dry rub. We got the Dr Pepper. We got five plane with a side of the raspberry chipotle (OMG the raspberry chipotle was so good and the heat doesn't hit you. It takes like a minute or two before the heat starts to hit. But so flavorful.) We also got the gold rush. So for me the Dr Pepper wasn't very good. It's just my opinion. It was very very sweet and that was it which we knew that it was a mild flavor, but it didn't taste like Dr Pepper. It also didn't taste like barbecue sauce. I didn't care for them, but the person that I was with like them. The Gold Rush. Was absolutely amazing. This will always be my GoTo favorite. The thing that I love the most about Pluckers - and I wish my picture wasn't blurry, but if you love wings, they never fail to follow through with the size and the meatiness of their wings. We are old school wing eaters. And a few things that we have always noticed because we're not originally from Texas, is finding a place that has good sized wings and not these little tiny baby wings that look like they came from the pigeon. So, all in all between the excellent service that we got from that and I don't know the other girl's name she was expediting our food. They had forgotten our celery and blue cheese, and she went and got it for us and I didn't catch her name. But Nat - she was so personable and funny and on it like we didn't really have to wait for anything. And she was absolutely delightful as a server. I certainly hope that she is there when we return. And I was going to say something to the Manager about how excellent her service was and how great she was but they were busy and I've worked in restaurants for years and even though you love to hear the compliments it's kinda hard when you have a full house and you're running around crazy and you wanna take care of a customer if they ask for you, but she was so busy working her butt off that we didn't wanna stop her from what she was doing. I think it's like the third time I've had not such a great experience at this location, but today made me want to leave a review because I understand this is a busy location but it doesn't matter how busy the location is, it shouldn't affect the quality of the food. We were a table of 8 and ordered two chips and queso orders and the chips were so hard and bendy? because they were drenched in oil. Aside from the chips the fried Mac and cheese were so small except for one of them. Ohh Pluckers ! You never let me down ! I actually have tried quite a bit of different wing places, but this place has to be one of the best flavoring wings in town. The vibes are laid back with so many tv screens to catch any game going on . The waiters are always so friendly and quick . But the most important thing is they have just nailed the flavoring of the wings and no matter who I bring along with me. They all seem to enjoy the wing flavors . My go to wing flavors are buffalo medium, and lemon pepper. The lemon pepper here is so amazing. I literally crave it again right whenever I'm finished . They have perfected the sauce. Chefs kiss !! Also, whenever I come to Pluckers, I always have to order the Holy macaroni because it is just so delicious ! You can't just stop at one!!! Pluckers is definitely worth a try if you like wings ! One thing I really appreciate about Pluckers is being able to join the waitlist through Yelp. I joined the waitlist on a Friday at 9:06 p.m. and was quoted a seating time of 9:54-10:09 p.m. since they were busier than normal. Based on that, I planned to arrive around that time. At 9:43 p.m., I received a text saying my table was almost ready and to see the host, but then at 9:47 p.m. I got a text saying my name had been removed from the waitlist. I arrived around 9:50 p.m., explained what happened, and they added me back to the list. We were seated within about 10 minutes, so it wasn't a huge issue, so I definitely recommend taking advantage of that. We were a party of four, and one of the first things I noticed was that the Jamango Jerk flavor is no longer on the menu. That was my favorite, so I was disappointed to see it go. Our waitress let us sample a few flavors before ordering. I ended up going with my usual backup, the Spicy Lemon Pepper, and ordered the Holy Mac on the side. Both were excellent. The Holy Mac was especially good, and the chutney is fire. Unfortunately, things took a turn before our food even arrived. While a server was bringing over a water refill, one of the cups completely tipped over onto my friend. Thankfully it was only water, but she ended up soaked and cold while waiting for our food. I'm honestly so disappointed with my experience at the Shepherd location. We've been to the Webster and Memorial City locations multiple times and have always had amazing experiences. The food is great, the service is great, and we're always treated so well. Unfortunately, this was our first time at the Shepherd location, and I don't think we'll be coming back. We are a very easy table. We normally order everything at once, ask for the Holy Mac to come out first as an appetizer, eat our food, get a couple of refills, tip 25%, and call it a day. This time, the Holy Mac didn't come out until AFTER our main food arrived, and when it finally did, it didn't even look or taste like what we normally get at the other locations. I'm including a picture because there was definitely a noticeable difference. The wings were also dry and just not good compared to what we're used to from Pluckers. On top of that, we had to ask for plates, which we have NEVER had to do at the other locations. When we were ready to leave, we had to actually find our server just to ask for to-go boxes. No manager ever came by to check on us either, which surprised us because at the other locations, managers regularly stop by the table to make sure everything is okay. My husband and I have both worked as servers, so we understand how difficult serving can be, and we are normally very generous tippers. We almost always tip around 25%. I genuinely cannot remember the last time we tipped only 15%, but unfortunately, that's what we left this time because the overall experience was so disappointing. I'm not writing this because I dislike Pluckers -- actually, it's the opposite. We've had so many great experiences at the Webster and Memorial City locations that we expected the same level of food and service here. Came to Pluckers for lunch and the ambience wasn't bad, honestly the emptiest I've ever seen a Pluckers. Our server was pretty good so no complaints there, but when we first walked in nobody greeted us at all. We were standing there for a while and the staff at the bar definitely saw us but didn't say anything like "hey just a minute." My husband even turned to me and asked if I just wanted to leave, but I was really craving the fried cheese because I've been in a cheese mood lately. We got two soft drinks and the fried cheese blocks which were fine. Not as good as Big City Wings but they're huge and worth the money if you just want to eat cheese. My husband got his usual 10-15 piece wings and I normally do the same, but I didn't feel like getting my hands dirty today so I ordered the boneless wings basket. That was a big mistake. I'm not sure who their vendor is or if they check the meat before battering and frying it, but I regret not opening them up at the restaurant. I ended up just eating my tater tots and getting full, which was fine since the portions are big and I planned to eat the wings later. When I reheated them tonight I used a plastic fork and knife to cut them into little pieces because it's almost bedtime and I didn't want to get messy. Thank goodness I did because I wasn't even looking closely, just dipping pieces into blue cheese while watching TikTok, and I bit into something that did NOT feel like chicken. It tasted weird and kind of rancid. I looked down and saw what looked like a cyst in the chicken strip. I'm honestly horrified. I spit it out immediately. I love blue cheese so for me to react like that was crazy. I'm so disappointed in this location. Pluckers is known for big portions but these boneless pieces were literally the size of whole chicken breasts and I'm thinking they use a lower quality vendor or don't cut the chicken down enough to catch stuff like this. Between the lack of greeting when we walked in and then finding that in my food, this whole experience was just unfortunate. I'm still grossed out writing this at 9 pm. I'm giving it two stars for our friendly server, but I am grosssssed out. Booooo read more

We came to Pluckers on a Thursday night at 9:15 PM and this place had a wait for inside seating. We opted for outdoor seating on the patio to get seated faster. Pro tip, if you are coming to this Pluckers, you can get in line on the Yelp app before you arrive. We are Pluckers Club members and the Fried Pickles was the free appetizer for members. Service: service was a little slow because they had one server on each side of the patio seating. Our server tried to be as attentive as possible but we had to ask for refills and flag him down for the check once we were done. Food: we got the fried pickles which were very good. They came out piping hot and crispy with a side of ranch. They are fried as spears and not pickle chips so that is a big difference between these fried pickles and other restaurants we've been to. We had the boneless wings basket and were able to get two wing flavors for the 4 tenders. This basket comes with a side and a side of ranch or blue cheese. The tenders in this basket are massive so this is the most bang for your buck if you are looking for a lot of food. The chicken bites basket comes with chicken nugget like pieces and you can pick your sauce flavor. The Mac and cheese here is actually very good. I would give it an 8/10. The bone in wings here are also very good and fried well each time. Pluckers may have some of my favorite sauce choices. Parking: parking at the Pluckers on Shepherd is tough because the parking lot is small and it is very busy once dinner starts. You can park across the street along the street but those streets are also really tight. Just be mindful of this when you come to this location. Overall, this place is still one of our favorite Pluckers to come to because of the central location and good food. Expect to wait a little for your table at peak hours but also expect good chicken wings! read more

Came to Pluckers with some friends to watch the final football game that determined the Superbowl picks. We came in about 15 mins before the game started and were seated immediately. Tehya was our server and she was super sweet. Since I was the first one to arrive, just caught on pretty quickly that I'd be waiting for a few people, so said she'd grab my drink order, and give me some time. As each of our party arrived, she was quick to greet us, and bring out more waters. I hadn't been to Pluckers in years, so I had an idea of what I wanted, but Tehya was great at explaining the rewards program to each of us, so we all signed up, which comes with a free appetizer! So we went family style on some apps, we tried the mozzarella sticks, fried pickels, fried mac and cheese and taternachos. I am a sucker for all things mozzarella, so that I'd have to say was my most fave. The taternachos were stacked sky high, and were filled with ALL the ingredients, so good!! The seasonings they put on the fried options, are all good, and flavors are on point. After chowing down on apps, we then placed our order. We knew with the game being on, and how crowded they were, that it would be a while, and we were in no rush. Tehya kept coming by to check on us, keep us updated, and keep our drinks full. She was on it. When the wings came out, it was game on, they were soooooo good. Hot, fresh, the way I ordered, and right on time! It was raining pretty hard this day in Houston, so when the tv's lost signal, or the volume went out, the manager would play music to keep the vibe going, and would walk around checking in on all the tables. I stopped by on National Wing Day and the place was packed! Despite the crowd, we were seated fairly quickly, although the food did take a little longer to come out, understandable given how busy it was. Wings were just $1 each, which was a great deal. You can mix and match flavors, and there were so many options it was tough to choose. I tried the garlic sriracha, lemon pepper, and spicy ranch, all solid choices. You can never go wrong with spicy lemon pepper, either! The appetizers were tasty, too , I really enjoyed the fried pickles and macaroni logs. Someone could've sat us down Then we wait for service. Randy comes by and addresses our concerns and he's top-notch and make sure we're taken care of . After that, there's a lady in training and we don't even get silverware, they overcharge us so I had to correct the bill. They bring out a Philly cheesesteak with no cheese. It was a big letdown, but I'll say what Randy is doing his best. he's doing a great job, but the staff really needs to step it up here. No one is paying attention. Everyone has their head down. No one is looking up to see if anyone needs anything. Guys you really need to work on your customer service and overall operations here. Things to work on ASAP. If you got people sitting at the host stand sit them down, and then when they get sat down, don't let them sit there and wait, Send a waiter to address them and take a drink order right away. Make sure they have silverware. Make sure they have their refills. Make sure the bill is right.
