Under her care, we had two successful egg retrievals, and on our first transfer, we got pregnant. We are beyond grateful -- there really aren't enough words to express how thankful we are. That said, the billing department needs significant improvement. Communication was very difficult -- phone calls often went unanswered with no callbacks, and responses were typically limited to once per day. Payments were missed on their end, so I strongly recommend tracking everything carefully. Bills were also not sent promptly. Overall, while the administrative side was frustrating, Dr. Owen made all the difference in our journey, and for that we will always be thankful.

This place needs to be shut down they are not complying with normal medical ethics.

His staff both in the Arlington but especially in the Bethesda office where I went for my monitoring visits is amazing! They are all very kind, caring and professional. Half of the information was not even relevant to my plan of care. Their website and portal are disaster. I have no comments on their success rates, etc, but the Shady Grove set up, communication is an absolute shit show. This is my first clinic in the DMV area so I can't recommend where else to go, but I would certainly reconsider selecting this national chain. I believe someone else referred to it as a 'McDonalds'. Fast forward months later, I see that there's a lab claim on my insurance for $1,500+ and that it's my full responsibility. How can this be, if I went to in-service medical provider? Well, apparently this provider only uses one lab called bio-reference lab unless explicitly expressed by the patient to use another. This is the most backwards ass thing I have ever experienced. How can you as a provider not do your due diligence to see where my lab work needs to go? Why is that my responsibility. Why wait for some nonsense like this to happen, when you could tackle the issue on the front end? Now there's a huge possibility that I have to pay this large bill for SIMPLE LAB work because office assistants don't want to go the extra mile to check. It's disgusting as hell and I know this issue is a massive problem within the American Healthcare itself. Providers need to do better. I'm a 23 year old woman that is new to the healthcare insurance enrollment period (that typically occurs in September/October) so if you refer back to my date of service you could see that this is months into using my new insurance after being on my parents. Why must people advocate for themselves when providers should be doing their damn jobs to make sure things like this don't happen.
