Simple Souls is absolutely AMAZING. Both of their voices are incredible -- rich, dynamic, versatile (hip-hop, pop/rock, ballads [only a few of the latter though, as these aren't napping performances], etc.), and with complementary ranges. And the variety of sound they get out of their two instruments is just incredible -- it's easy to forget that all they've got is a djembe and a guitar. This is also not your normal cover band (even your normal great cover band) -- Simple Souls puts their own spin on popular songs, which do the songs complete justice while not simply redoing what the original artists put out. I've recommended them to numerous people I know (plus a few strangers when I've found any possible excuse) and now I'm recommending them to you -- go see them! During the funeral program, his music added a level of comfort and reflection that truly touched everyone in attendance. It brought warmth to the room and allowed family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate my mom's life together. One moment that meant so much to me personally was when Brandon took the time to learn a song just for the service -- "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. Hearing that song played live during the service was incredibly emotional and moving. Many people who attended told me how powerful and beautiful that moment was. Later on, Brandon shared with me that he now performs that song at other events because of how meaningful it was. Knowing that a small piece of my mom's memory continues through the music he plays is something that means a lot to me. We were also really happy that he was fun and easy to work with. Everyone knows that wedding planning and working with various vendors and schedules is really tough and mentally draining. Glenn was able to make our worries and stress disappear. My husband and I had a difficult time picking out music that we wanted to have during the cocktail hour and reception but Glenn was able to work with our short list of must haves and build it into a great repertoire. Glenn was also able to showcase his skills performing some loop mixes too! We also had a couple of specific songs that we wanted to be performed during the processional and he was able to add them in a really short amount of time!
