The cabins themselves were a variety of sorts. Some much nicer than others. Ours in particular were interesting: Floor was uneven. Bed was a little sunken in. Water temperature changed sporadically with no obvious cause. A few outlets didn't work, and one fan/light didn't function. But all in all, it was still delightful to stay in. The porch had a beautiful, secluded view, the community was peaceful and safe, and it was an adventure to say the least. I would stay in the Notch's again.

Having coffee on the covered balcony was very peaceful in the mornings. The nightly rental was reasonable. Looking forward to staying there again in the spring.

The only negative, there were a couple pillows on couch, & the back of couch where the back pillow is attached were torn & had holes in them. We took pictures on day of our arrival to show we did not do it. But with so many people renting the cabins you can expect some wear & tear. We had a fabulous time

It was very old, but we enjoyed the rustic feel of the place. We loved our view of the lake from our front porch and enjoyed the tree near by. The small playground was wonderful to have for our little ones to play on when we weren't in the water, and the pool was perfect temp with a slide. For some reason, pools with slides are just so much better! The docks provided were SO useful and close to our cabin. If anything, I would definitely change the name from "Resort" to "Schooner Creek Cabins" or "..Cabins on the Lake" or something else, because Resort makes you think of a nicer more updated place: nicer amenities, cleaner pool, etc. Our shower head sounded like a rocket and shot out so violently like it was going to kill you. The mini ovens also worked poorly and cooked our food quite slowly. The banister around the front porch was the most concerning...it was not up to code and its opening were too far apart, my 18 month old could easily fit through its bars and if I wasn't looking, he could've easily fallen right through. Luckily, after we told them (even though they didn't believe us), they willingly put up some protection around the entire banister so we didn't have to worry about, however, they really need to put up a legal banister ASAP, even around the pool. Overall, it was a fun experience, but now we know what to expect when we return!

The cabins are well equipped, clean, and comfortable. Our kids loved the pool and were in it everyday. We are happy we choose a resort with a nice, clean pool. Our 13 and 11 yr old sons said they were HAPPY to give up electronics to go out on the boat, which was a BIG win! They had all the extras we forgot such as a lighter for the grill and a wine opener. The cabins are currently about 50 yards from the water so the walk down and back up was no problem. We rented their pontoon boat and had a great couple of days out on the water catching fish, swimming, tubing, and enjoying the view! You cannot go wrong here as you will feel right at home! Definitely going to make this an annual family trip!

In the meantime, we were told we could take our 3 children to play on the playground. However, we traveled from Dallas and our 3 year old developed a fever 1/2 way into the drive, so playing on a playground was not in the cards for him. Our room was finally ready around 5. We reserved a 2 bedroom condo. The front room with windows facing the parking lot and walkway had 2 beds which the children would be sleeping in. I had a weird feeling and checked the windows. Thankful that I did because all the windows were unlocked. The jacuzzi was dirty. Several spiders and flies inside the condo. The refrigerator made a loud noise the entire time making it hard to hear the TV. The washer was also very loud. We had to have our keycards reactivated several times. When I was getting them reactivated one of the times, the staff handed me the cards back which I grabbed with my left hand that had an iWatch on the wrist. She said it's probably deactivated again now. They should have a better system. The condo was not stocked. There was 1 extra roll of toilet paper in each bathroom for a 6 day stay and 5 people. There were no paper towels. The grass was not cut outside of our patio so the kids couldn't play and there was a dirty beach towel lying in front of the patio. Unfortunately we will not be back nor would we recommend this resort, which to be frank, is not a resort

We were disappointed to find…read moreconstruction going on right in front of our unit (thank you, management for letting us know..not!) and we had to dodge construction materials all weekend. Add to that the fact that we had only enough warm (not even hot!) water for one of us to shower before the water turned cold and I was NOT a happy camper. But, it gets better, folks. There was also a roach sighting. When we told the management about the issues, they were kind enough to give us a free night....IF we stayed the required number of nights! LAME. We would not even stay for free if there were no more nights required. Not the worst place we've ever stayed but we will never go back and would advise others to stay elsewhere.
