Tashara and Tabitha were gems, very friendly and addressed all my concerns during my silk press. It feels like a chill ladies hangout while getting pampered as most of the clients know each other and are on a regular schedule. RJ gave me the low down on how they work. Main goal--hair health. How refreshing right? They are more invested in my hair than even me. They will not operate unless the hair is healthy. I came in she inspected my hair and prescribed the following: cut off all my dead dried brassy orange hair and 3 oloplexes prior to dye day. That day I received a great haircut and one of the best blowdrys everrr. I felt so glamorous. 2- Dye day-- this women took her timeeee. She painted my hair yall with every stroke she was patient and percise. I was none the less very happy with my new hair color. Of course, concerned with the health of my hair I had another round of oloplexes and Shanece (their apprentice) does a great job of doing as well as recommending great products and things to do with your hair at home to keep it healthy and beautiful. Ps. I only like when Shanece does my oloplexes. And it may seem like a simple job but I think you need to be good at product placement and letting me know what's the status of my hair and what it's lacking. Thank you Shanece. 3- Availability/booking-- making appointments is a one of a kind experience here. We text and we call. RJ is so amazing at this. There have been times where I need to get in or need to make a last minute appt and we will go back and forth with our schedules until it's done and she doesn't even seem phased by it. Who does that?? She will make sure she makes it happen and that does not go unnoticed. BS hairshop cares. They care about their clients, they care about hair and they care about outcomes. He understands Asian hair and how to lift it to a beautiful blond without looking brassy. I have bounced around to different Fort Lauderdale salons after moving here 5 years ago and couldn't quite find a perfect fit with the dozen or so places I have tried out. I wanted an easy low maintenance blond (yes I know, no such thing with blond), and Tomy came through. I came in with three layers of color- dark roots about 2 inches long, bleached muddy blond through the middle and orange ends. It was a disaster grow out. I had a consult with Markie for blonde highlights and to blend in my roots but since Markie couldn't do highlights at the moment, she deferred me to Tomy. I didn't know I was in for a treat. I showed Tomy pics of what I wanted and he insisted that the color I wanted would wash me out and that I would not be happy with the maintenance since I wanted low maintenance. Initially, I was disheartened but I can appreciate his honesty and after he explained what he thought would work better for me yet achieve something close to what I was looking for. I thought I came in for a consult but he worked me in between his clients so that he could show me what he could achieve yet still make me happy. Mind you, the salon was super busy but the man is a multitasking genius! He did a toner and root scrape while Markie did my haircut and Yasleen did my blowout. Did I mention that my color was a disaster? Well, 2 hours later, what was flat and orange and 3 different colors was now bright, golden and well blended. My dark roots melted into the blond so seamlessly, you would think Michelangelo painted it himself. I absolutely love the results!
