I went and got my hair straightened (I have very curly hair) and they did a fantastic job!! I was shocked by how amazing it turned out. The only thing to note is to make sure they use heat protectant when they do your hair because I don't believe they did for me, but still turned out stunning. Came here for the second time today to get wash , blow dry and curls. The first time I came they left my hair towards the root slightly wet ( I have thick hair) so I decided to come back and give them a second chance as this can be a common mistake & not a deal breaker. Let me just say that nobody there spoke English so it made it extremely difficult for me to communicate what I wanted & then communicate what I didn't like upon completion. After being done the curls looked bad the bottom part of my hair where the extensions are were curled and my leave out she just curled with a blow dryer so two totally different curl patterns. Then, I paid extra for my hair to be washed with purple shampoo as I am a blonde. This purple shampoo must have been left on too long because this has never happened and it turned my hair blue. She also used got to be hair spray which is extremely heavy duty for curls it's more of a styling spray for updos ... I'm so sad about my hair color and they did not offer a discount or to fix it. Please save yourself time by not going here I thought that something so simple couldn't turn out so wrong but them not having any customers in the salon both times I went should've been a red flag!!! Do not go here. A friend recc them I went to Nelly the old woman apparently the man is the owner. l had 2 salons mess up putting extensions on my hair one sewing fell off and they are MIA, The second tape ons fell out 3 times. Then I went here and she was in a rush she said someone was waiting. I told her I could wait if she wanted to have her go first. She said no in a rush and abrupt, yet they were very nice on the phone. I spend $300 on the hair and 150 for here service of tape Ons. Two fell out that week and I was going to have her do my roots. I called to see if she could fix the 2 and if she had time to do the roots Anna the receptionist said to come on a Thursday as Nelly is only in Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I was not able to come I had to work those days. We arranged the following Thursday, and I arranged my work schedule to drive 45 min to the salon. I called to confirm and then she said oh she is not coming in and only a half day Friday and may not come in. I text back I would arrange my schedule to come sat so she could do my roots as well. I never heard back not a call or a text. Do not go here it's a scam and extremely unprofessional I am happy I found a classy real extension salon. They even fixed them so my hair would not fall out for a few days till I had my appointment I guess she had no idea and just wanted the quick buck. I'm going straight to the point. Paid $75 dollars for my hair to get blow dried. This is not my first time getting my hair done this style, so I know how long it is supposed to last even with humidity. I've never paid $75 for my hair and have it frizzy when I just take it out of the wrap 30 minutes later. Although very nice, an older female hair dresser was on the phone making plans for 5pm. I'm looking at my phone noticing it's 4:30pm and knowing there is no way she will be able to finish by 5. Long story short, she burned me twice, and she was rushing. In retrospect I don't even think she put hairspray. I asked her to wrap my hair, and 5 Bobby pins were falling out as she was still wrapping my hair. She clearly didn't know how to wrap hair, but that's ok. Left a good tip just cuz I like to tip people well and on top of that paid my $75. As soon as the hair dresser was done with my hair, she gathered all her things and left the salon right away. As you can understand, I was upset when I arrived home getting ready for an evening out, just to notice that my hair that was blow dried 30 minutes ago started curling and becoming frizzy. After my night out (only dinner) my straight hair was no longer salvageable. Planned to go over the next day to see if they can fix my hair cuz their work was subpar. Perhaps the worst job done to my hair...but they are closed on Sundays. I won't say don't come here, because perhaps the other hair dressers are more skilled. But after noticing the sloppy work done to my hair, and the amount of money spent just for a hairstyle that lasted only 1 night, I do not plan on coming back, and rather use my money at a different salon. Definitely not happy with my experience here. I left 2 stars since they were able to schedule an appointment about 2 hrs after I called, but even so, I think I'm being too generous! read more

I moved from NJ about 2yrs ago and would travel often to see my hair stylist back at home. Last hair cut was in March. Due to blazing sun, beach and pool water my hair the last 6 months was getting so damaged and needed a cut ASAP! Due to work schedule, I have been unable to travel home. I yelped, as I always do, being the new girl in town and I came across all these amazing reviews! I read, called, and came in! Unfortunately it's been raining and a nice blow out would literally last maybe 2hrs because my hair is so curly, so I was unable to blow dry, but Nelly did trim my hair and went detail by detail every step of the way. Rosie is a doll as well! They have a great thing going on. Price wasn't bad at all for a wash and cut. (I'm from up north, we pay a lot to get good work done, quality cost money!!) . The owner here is rude and unprofessional. I've come here several times and Nelly did an outstanding job with my natural hair. Last week I called ahead to make arrangements for a friend and I. We arrived at opening time, they were still closed. The owner hops in her SUV looks at my friend and says "No I'm not doing her KIND of hair, I don't have time and Nelly is not here" she said it in such a rude tone my friend was so hurt. I came to this salon after searching Yelp for a dominican hair salon. Based on the rave reviews I decided to give it a try. I called ahead for a price quote but I was told by Nelly that they don't give quotes because everyone's hair is different. She told me to come in as soon as I could since they don't do appointments. The salon wasn't too hard to find since it's in a plaza with a huge sign outside that say "Dominican Salon". I walked in and although there was no receptionist Nelly greeted me soon after. She looked at my hair and told me a wash and set would be $60 for my hair. That's $20 more than I normally pay but I decided to give them a try since I really wanted a dominican blow out. Nikki washed my hair, deep conditioned it under the dryer, roller set my hair and put me under the dryer for about an hour, then blow dried, trimmed it, and flat ironed it. She did a great job and my curly hair came out as straight as I was hoping it would. She is a great stylist and I would recommend anyone with curly hair to her. The reason why I haven't given this salon 5 stars is because they do not cater very well to people who do not speak Spanish. The person who initially was going to style my hair spoke no English at all, and I think she could tell how uneasy I was about this. I can count on one hand the amount of times they spoke English while I was in there, which did make me feel a little out of place since I didn't feel "at home" like so many other reviewers mentioned. Overall, I would recommend this salon if what you're looking for is a dominican hair experience. The prices are higher than what you may expect, but this is south Florida after all. I also noticed that they are very fast, a lot of clients came and went with wonderfully styled hair. I do plan to go back again when I need my hair to be professionally treated or styled, especially because it's not easy to find nearby hairdressers who can straighten very curly hair. read more

I've spent my whole life waiting to find a hair salon like this. My hair is insane - big, thick, cury, unruly, course, and damaged from low quality dye jobs...and I was so nervous to go...I just moved to Miami and I don't speak any spanish! Rosie and Nely blew my expectations out of the water....first of all, they make you feel like family. I seriously wanted to hug them when I left (next time). They were so sweet and caring and made me feel so relaxed. Secondly - my hair is the softest, fullest, healthiest looking it's been proably since I was born (no joke). Nely had to cut a lot of my hair off because it is so damaged, but I can already tell I'm on the road to hair recovery! She also removed all the damage while keeping long layers so my hair is definitely shorter, but not shockingly short considering how much had to go. I'll never go any where again. Ok, first for enquiring minds, they do all types of hair. From 4c to 1a. That being said, it's a high heat salon. They use heat protectant, but still, you will cringe. I feel places like this just go super man on the heat when you're black automatically. All that isn't necessary, and I've been to salons where they didn't, and my hair was beautiful and lasted just as long. Just not in miami. A blow dry, protein treatment, and flat iron for my just pass shouldar hair was $70. Without protein it is $60. My hair got bone straight. They were nice and had quality products, but I don't know if I can handle the heat. read more

Let me start off by saying customer service was IMPECCABLE! I felt like I was walking into a family members house to chat with the ladies. Not only was the customer service amazing but the actual service was exactly what I was looking for. I have natural (Afro curly) hair and it wasn't a problem for them to tame. Did my hair so good, it looked like I was walking out with a relaxer. I got a wash, treatment, curlers, blow out and brows at a reasonable price. I will definitely come back. What an amazing first experience this has been! I used to go to another Dominican salon previously but moved to a new area and needed to find someone who was closer to my home. Based on the Yelp reviews I decided to stop by and I'm so glad I did! The ladies were so nice and kind and took my dry hair and made it feel soft and look amazing! I was able to get the deep conditioning deal on Yelp and I think it really did wonders for my hair. My hair has been very dry and has been falling out when I comb it and it was worrying me but I think that if I continue coming here I'm going to see my hair improve greatly. I only waited 10 minutes until I was seen. I had extremely dead ends and had to cut off all of my dead hair. Reyna took great care of me and did beautiful layers. It was everything that I wanted! I did rollers & flat iron. It came out superb. I highly recommend and will tell all of my family/friends.
