This school is the absolute *best* preschool! The owner Ryan & his wife and Office Manager Debbie are incredible humans who go ABOVE AND BEYOND to meet your family & child's needs. The teachers have been there forever (low to no turnover) and absolutely love on your kids and - even better- want what's best for them. They view your family as humans (not a paycheck or number) & will truly go above and beyond to meet any and all needs to support all of your family. Between my 5 children this is the 5th preschool we've attended and my last 2 absolutely will never attend any other preschool. They value academic education thru art, music, sensory and small group activities; and place emphasis on emotional growth through research based social/emotional programs. PVCS is a wonderful place. Our little one has been here for 3 years. ALL of the teachers, the director, and the owners are absolutely fantastic. You can tell they all absolutely love and care for the kids, and they have always been super patient, kind, helpful, and communicative. The majority of the teachers are very tenured with a lot of experience in teaching and caring for children. The after care teachers / aides are wonderful, as well. Our little one has learned a lot, made a lot of great friends, and developed great connections with the staff. The hold many nice events throughout the year as well (pancake breakfasts, movie nights, parent's night out, recitals by the kids, etc). We have absolutely loved being a part of the PVCS family and are very sad to be graduating on! read more

We have been PVCS families since right before COVID when our son was just about 2. What a fantastic find! Since the beginning the staff has treated our son with such warmth and love. We've had experiences with some of the other daycares in the valley during this time and PVCS is by far our favorite experience. The communication is fantastic and all the updates going in make this place even better. My son adores every single one of his teachers and I feel so comfortable leaving him knowing that he is in a safe space with teachers that care for him. The staff arranges fun outside of school time activities and has started doing PNO. We are graduating this year from the PreK and are really sad to leave this fantastic daycare. read more

I really can't say enough good things about this school, the teachers and all of the staff. From our first inquiry for a tour to where we are now, all has been a 5 star experience. Coming home from our tour with Terry, we knew this school was going to be hard to beat. They set the bar high and we just knew it was what we wanted for our kiddos. Covid has been part of the picture for our entire experience. I think the staff here do a really great job of navigating the challenges presented this past year. They walk a fine line to keep kiddos/staff/parents safe and also make sure that all are also happy. I think they are quite reasonable with their expectations and sick policy. Finding a good fit with this was important to us in choosing a school as well. Our son comes home from school happy every day. He tells us how much he loves his friends and his teachers. The front staff often greet my daughter by name too and she doesn't even attend this school! Since attending PVCS his vocabulary has improved, he has become more independent, and more social with others! It's important to us that our kids love the school environment and we feel like PVCS really sets a strong foundation for this. The kids are allowed to play outside multiple times per day. We loved this because our little guy has a lot of energy!! And I should also add that the playground & outside play area here really impressed us as well. It just seemed to have a lot of variety and options for kids. We get a quick daily report card in our son's backpack each day. It's so nice to have that to spark conversation about school at home! Snack is provided for the kids, which is SO helpful! Lunch is served (we pack it) before pick-up time, which is wonderful for bringing our son home and putting him right down for nap! This school had extremely reasonable tuition rates compared to a lot of other schools we toured as well. Lastly, I want to end with the "icing on the cake" for me. The communication at PVCS is top notch. This is something I HIGHLY value personally. It's hard to find a place that meets my standards, let alone exceeds them. I'm always blown away by how quickly I get email responses to my concerns/questions. But even more blown away by the detail and time that is clearly put into answers. It feels very personalized when I get reports about how my little guy is doing. I can tell that they know him and love him. A special shout out to Ms. Lynda (his Two's class teacher). She is always so friendly and conversational in her emails, which can be hard to achieve! She never makes me feel like I am a bother for writing in. In fact, she goes out of her way to give extra information that might be helpful or fun to know. Miss Terry gave us our tour and won over our sons heart (and ours) from day one. She clearly loves working with these kids. She's often making the kids laugh, getting down on their level to talk and just generally doing things that make us all smile. Miss Moriah is the last person I want to say has really personally reached out to us. We had a question about an experience at lunch time, and she made sure to come to the lobby the next morning to personally explain to me what happened. The whole thing was a misunderstanding (blame it on 2 year old communication skills!!). But it was so wonderful to speak to the teacher who was actually there when it happened. I just thought it was so nice that she wanted to come out and speak with me. I could go on and on. But I will end by saying that if you are researching local preschools, you will definitely want to have PVCS on your list. Please go take a tour and see for yourself. read more

Hands down the best daycare/preschool that my little one has ever attended and he has been to a quite few in his life due to us moving. The owner, Ms Terry is genuine and you can tell she cares about children and her staff. My son's treachers are all very nice and patient with him. Would give them 4.5 stars but can't! This is a great daycare ( can't speak for the preschool curriculum). I love most things about the place: The teachers The staff The admin Terry The location The fact that they seem to memorize everyone's name makes it feel like family The classroom is full of toys and "cozy" The combination of outdoor and indoor play when weather allows How they handle conflict between children and how they gently teach them to not do certain things Pretty sure they some how taught my son to not let other kids take his food (speaks to personal space and property?) I could go on and on ... Few things that could be better but are more my personal preferences than true issues: Toddler playground has a lot of fun stuff including swings and slides but can get a little crowded. I think the long narrow shape of the playground makes it feel like this - nothing they can do about this and there is a much bigger playgrounds for the older kids There is no lunch for half day students (tried before and didn't work for them :( ) It's not bilingual (I know most daycares aren't!). This is the only reason my son won't stay in their preschool - but we'll sure miss PVCS So.... go visit them! PVCS is great read more

My husband and I absolutely love this school! The director Terry is a wonderful, caring woman and all of the teachers are great! I was nervous sending my little one off to preschool, as expected, and this school made it so much easier and comfortable. He LOVES going to school and he has learned so much while having fun and making friends. I am in education myself and am pretty picky about things and I have no doubt in the safety and well being for my son and know that he is loved and well taken care of while he is there. I have had two kids go through PVCS and my youngest is currently in Pre-k. I am so happy I found this gem of a school. When I toured 6 years ago....I thought, it smells like fingerpaint. To me that meant kids were creating art, which was a good thing. It was that she'll that drew me in, but I could never have imagined how loved and cared for my children would be. The kids learn through play- I have never seen a worksheet come home. But my son is at the top of his kindergarten class and I am confident my daughter will be too. They are both well prepared for elementary school and more importantly, have a love for learning and wonderful social skills- both of which were fostered at PVCS. This is the third year our daughter and second year our son have attended PVCS. Not only does the school encourage families to take part in activities and events, but they also have an "open door" policy. We have "dropped by" even without our kids knowing several times throughout the day and have always been pleased by what we saw. The kids love their teachers and talk a lot about the school. They care deeply about each child, and you can tell they are invested in teaching kids practical knowledge as well as social skills. My child attended this preschool. It could be a good school, but they need to improve several things before I would recommend this school to anyone. There are a few good teachers who are qualified and genuinely care about the children. But those few are the minority. The other teachers seem to be uneducated, and not interested in anything other than their cell phones. The building is old and could use some TLC. Although the school held several "fundraisers", I am not sure where the funds were spent because they clearly were not spent on maintenance or new toys, playground equipment etc. The management here was the last and final straw for our family. Extremely unprofessional, inexperienced and lacking ethics and morals. The owner is not available or willing to discuss concerns or problems, does not actively try to solve issues, and is generally not around. In her absence, she appoints other uneducated and inexperienced staff, who again seem unable to understand the problems, and certainly are unable to do anything to resolve issues. If you care about cleanliness, safety, a positive learning environment and your child's overall well- being, this is not the school for you. read more

We love this school and say enough good things about it! We moved our 2 kids from another school and noticed an immediate change. Our kids are happy, well behaved and excited to go to school. My 2 years old who barely spoke, started putting together sentences and now speaks all the time. My 4 year old has learned so much, she tells us about her day (which she never did) and all the things she learned. The teachers are so friendly, creative, caring and I can tell they love all the kids. It's comforting to know that when I can't be there, my kids are loved and cared for. read more

A few weeks ago my husband and I had a terrible experience with our daughters previous daycare, which pushed us to find a new place for her within a couple days! I had already been looking for a new school for her, and as soon as I came into Paradise Valley Cooperative School I fell in Love with it and so did my husband!! As soon as you walk in you can tell this place is built for the children and they are thriving! Their student to teacher ratios are lower than the state standard, which really shows the schools mission of having one on one learning time with the children everyday. They have hands on learning activities and are a "play based/child lead" teaching curriculum, which is great for young children and really helps them engage in their learning! I was worried we wouldn't be able to get her in on short notice, especially because of the small class sizes, but the director Terry made it work for us and we were able to get her in within a few days. Terry is amazing and TRULY cares about the children in her school! She kept me updated the first few days when I reached out and is extremely involved in all the classes. The children Love her! My daughter absolutely adores her teachers, Ms. Lynda and Ms. Tricia. Ever since we began at this school she has been begging to go back and wants to stay longer because she is having so much fun! Her teachers care about her and keep me updated. I feel so involved in her life at school, its fantastic. They really all go above and beyond and I couldn't be more grateful we found this place! read more
