Paradiso is one of the Top 50 Bars in the world and rightfully so! From the decor and service, to the unique cocktail menu, everything about this place was perfect. I came around 5pm on a Saturday, and it only took 20 minutes to get in. The bartenders were super friendly and spoke english which was a bonus. Their menu is constantly changing, so I forget the names of the drinks we ordered, but I also ordered a regular old fashion and they nailed it. I noticed another guest being a little rude to one of the bartenders. She was complaining about her drink so they made a new one, and another one after that. Had it been me, I probably would've gave up and asked them to leave lol, but they did not. Instead the opposite, which is very telling of the type of service you'll receive at this place. Overall this was my favorite cocktail bar in Spain, would I go again? Absolutely!
We're so glad to have our Tapas Tour guide's recommendations, this Speakeasy was the other voted "50 Best Bars in the world" this was behind a white door. My Fiance and I like the cocktail he ordered, mine was different and was ok, I was underwhelmed called Enigma. The Ambiance was nice and modern, perfectly dimmed, loved the music vibe and the service was great. It was Paradise for sure!
Yes, this was one of the best cocktail bars I have ever visited. It was fantastic! The website mentions a QR code for a virtual queue but there was a physical queue before opening time. The wait wasn't bad itself, except the line had several chain smoking teenage girls making the narrow street (really more of an alley) noxious. For a cocktail aficionado, nothing prepares your palate for complex flavors like a bunch of cigarettes. (sarcasm) There are tables outside, but I did not see them in use. The pace of entry is kept slow by a velvet rope allowing only a couple people in at a time. I was twelfth in line at opening time. It took me about 30 minutes to get inside. The upside is that once you get in it is never so crowded that the service is slow. The bartender to customer ratio is high. Especially when seated at the bar, there is plenty of personal attention. The cocktails are delicious. Several include a theatrical performance upon delivery. Fun, great drinks and great service! I am sad to say, they don't accept American Express; a slight inconvenience. I highly recommend Paradiso!
More of a novelty stop, this absolutely lovely little space in the old city makes a fine conversation starter / first stop with your date, or a bit of culinary exploration in liquid form. "How did they make this taste like that?" But for enjoying some twists on craft cocktail making? Not so great. Despite a wall full of both rare and classic bottles, most of what's featured on the menu is...eccentric at best. I had two after discussion with the bartender, and both were okay but not what I would enjoy drinking despite having a very broad palate. Although famously ranked by "50 best", this is a lot different than other cocktail bars on that list (I've visited quite a few of them), including the others in Barcelona. Perhaps having hit the number one spot before, they didn't know where to go from there? Nice staff but also missing was bartender banter (at least in English) I've found at most top bars - the bar experience is heavily about that interaction, especially for the solo customer. A positive - drinks are actually cheaper than fancy hotel bars in this city. What they offer *would* be great as a liquid tasting menu and I would return for that. But for full sized cocktails? Meh. Hence the 3 stars. Save it for a date or a "famous bars" crawl, but not for having delicious drinks that tickle the palate while getting the job done.
If you love a speakeasy and want to get a little away from the touristy spots along the water, look no further! Definitely focused on drinks and not the food menu, it's a great spot to stop for a beautiful experiential drink (or two). The staff is attentive and friendly, the space is gorgeous, and the drinks are unique and fun. Definitely recommend!
I had high hopes for this bar after seeing it on social media, but the drinks did not hit the mark compared to Sips. Perhaps I ordered the wrong drinks, but they did not taste good even if the descriptions sounded good. Service and presentation are great of course. I did not have reservations, but arrived at 4:40 on a Friday and there was no one in line. A line did form afterwards. I would rate the overall drinks a 3/5, but service was 5/5.
Visited Paradiso knowing it was once ranked #1 bar in the world (2022), and it's definitely a cool experience. Hidden entrance, dim lighting, stylish crowd, and a beautiful digital menu. The drinks are creative and tasty. Bathroom was small and not the cleanest, real icky. Overall, Paradiso has great energy and it's absolutely worth visiting once for the experience. Glad I came here before Sips, if I'd gone there first, these drinks wouldn't have hit the same.
When I heard this place was the #1 bar in the world, I HAD to stop in. When we first arrived, I was a bit worried since we had a bigger group (7) and you can only wait in a virtual queue. I believe the wait was about 2 hours at first! Luckily, since we had a bigger group we were able to get one of the tables they hadn't used yet and were sat after 2 minutes! Hidden away behind an unsuspecting door is a bright but intimate bar with a number of chairs and tables. It was extremely busy but our servers were super attentive and able to help us out. We got the evolution Negroni, the Tesla, Paradiso Express and Top Gun. Everything was super strong and the presentations were one too remember. Price wise wasn't too bad either. Paid about 100 Euros for 7 drinks. I can understand why people would be upset if they knew about the place before hand but we had a great time since we were visiting!
Paradiso is one of the top bars in the world (one of two located in Barcelona, but I enjoyed this one more). The drinks are an experience with each one being presented in such a unique way while also being tasty. First of all, reservations at through a QR code. Come early on weeknights if you want to avoid hour long waits. Although they don't take reservations, I was able to get them because they cancelled my reservations for the Macallan Experience. If you get a chance to do this, do it --I need to go back to try this. Once we were seated at the bar, we were provided a complimentary cocktail right away. Not sure if they do this for everyone or if it was a nice gesture for cancelling our Maccallan reservations, but it was very nice. Thereafter, we went through 3 more cocktails each and was able to try The Cloud (€20), The Great Gatsby (€20), Kryptonita (€17), Ramses (€18), Dry Storm (€21), and Tlaloc (€18). Each cocktail was so unique in its own way that was so special. The cloud and kryptonita were the most interactive, but all the cocktail were complimented with jellies, cheeses, and other bites to pair with the drink. If you're only going to have one drink, I highly recommend the Kryptonita. It comes with a flower bud that literally electrifies your mouth into a tingly and numb sensation. It's difficult to describe, so you just need to experience this for yourself. Seriously such a wild and unique bar experience, which is no wonder they made it to one of the top 50 bars in the world. The service was great and the drinks were amazing and fun. Prepare to try as many drinks as you can because you'll get a different experience with each one.
Honestly, I've been to bars that are within the top ten bars in the world list and paradiso was a hype! I mean you automatically have high expectations and that's what had me disappointed. If I went in knowing nothing about paradiso, I would have thought this is a good bar.. nothing extraordinary for sure. Their creativity is only for presentation.. drinks look pretty but that's about it. Ambience is nice. The front door person will act pricey, completely unnecessary. Ofcourse, drinks are pricey. Service was alright. I wouldn't say this is a must visit bar while in Barcelona!
Being the 2022 best bar in the world, we definitely had high expectations. They have a QR code waitlist outside that you scan and can wander around before coming back to your table. We waited around 45 minutes before getting seated inside. Once in, the decor is pretty cool and the lighting creates a nice ambiance. I was surprised that the seating was pretty casual and spread out. We got a nice round table in the corner and ordered some of their signature cocktails. I got the universal sunset which I really enjoyed, and it even came with a tiny chocolate! We were also able to get into the second room, which was a lot smaller. There the bartender made us a drink based on what we described we like - I got something fruity and refreshing which was really great. I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It's really cool to see what is considered one of the best bars in the world. We had a great time here :)
Well worth the wait because the experience was so unique! Last we checked, this bar is actually ranked #1 in the world since October 2022! There's no reservations you can make so you'd have to wait in line to get in. My friend and I made arrived to the line by 9:30 and waited for almost an hour. I wouldn't wear heels, it would get pretty tiring. I would def get there around 9 or earlier because there was already a queue at 9:30. The drinks we got were the kryptonite, paradiso express, Tesla and the great gatsby! All very unique experiences and unique flavor. I would have to say the great gatsby was my favorite because it was a bit on the smokier side (literally). I liked the kryptonite but it tasted like juice to me & the flower on there was so weirdly bitter and sour at the same time? My palette was quite confused. Regardless, the drink presentation was fantastic and the atmosphere was so vibey! If you had a chance to come here, I totally recommend 10/10! You must get at least two drinks! It's no secret this is #3 on the world's best bars but it's #1 in my eyes! This is the first bar that made me feel I have been missing out in the world of alcohol and that with perfectly blended well thought out creations, everyone can find a cocktail they love. I had to wait a 1.5 hours on a Sunday afternoon (5.30-7pm) to get in. Seating is really luck of the draw. Only 10 seats at the bar, around 15 slightly behind the bar and then scattered table seating. I do think you get a different experience based on where you seat. One thing you cannot escape through is how much the staff loves their jobs. I love their light up menu because it shows they have the clientele in mind. In other bars, I am struggling to read the menu in darkness but no issues in this bar. Presentation is over the top for certain drinks. I love how they included the drink profile so you can anticipate what you are getting. We tried the Tesla, legacy and Great Gatsby. My favorite is the Great Gatsby and I can see why it's a standard. It retains all the high notes of Macallan whisky while adding other highlights of smoke and sweetness, making it an absolutely smooth and easy to sip experience. The little bit of cheese on a stick that accompanies the drink lends a small savory touch. Hate the line but love the bar. Love that they constantly change the menu. Will be back if I am back in Barcelona! Update: they just got crowned #1 for 2022!! Well deserved and honestly even the vibes of the bar reflected the intensity, passion and creativity of the team! Paradiso is extremely hard to get into. Make sure to go there at 3pm when they open to enter in a virtual que. Our wait time was roughly 3 hours so we explored the city. When it was close, we had another cocktail in the same area. Paradiso offers a large variety of cocktails inspired from discoveries and inventions of science. The cocktails were really cool and had a great presentation. Taste wise though, they were not my favorite in the city. Regardless, it's still worth the visit as the interior is beautifully decorated and staff is friendly! read more
Paradiso provides entertainment, yummy, innovative cocktails, and a very cool atmosphere. The bartenders are fun and friendly. The careful crafting of each drink provided lots of entertainment for those at/near the bar. We waited about an hour at a nearby café after adding our name to the queue, so it wasn't too bad of a wait and we were seated at the bar which felt like the best spot in the place to witness the camaraderie between the bartenders and various drinks being made. They offer non-alcoholic cocktails that are just as good as the alcoholic ones. They also have a food menu but we didn't order food so I can't speak to that. read more
We came early evening to avoid waiting in the long lines. You have to put yourself on the waitlist when you get there. We had about 3 groups in front of us and waited less than 10 mins to get in. Their drinks were super unique, inventive and the presentation for each drink was pretty and amazing. Staff were super nice. We each ordered one round since we had dinner plans after. Most of their drinks were on the sweet side, but overall the place had good vibes. read more

World's best bar did not disappoint! Bonus that it is also a speakeasy! Go early since the line can get pretty long, but the wait is worth it! Also, please dont be rude to the waiters/ bouncers as they *will* kick you out of the line. We tried so many drinks here and each came with its own special gimmick. My favorite is the Tesla but all the other drinks are amazing too. I'm not going to spoil it here, you've got to experience it yourself! In fact, we loved it so much we came here twice :) read more

A little over hyped in my opinion. I came here because it's on my list and it's known as one of the best bars in Barcelona. The drinks were decent, but they do have USA prices. We came there around 4 PM on a Wednesday, we had to wait 5-10 minutes to get in but there were vacant seats, so not sure why we had to wait. I have heard the wait time gets longer later on in the night so come here early, then go out! We ordered the cauldron for 2- the fire drink and the lavender. The inside decor is adorable, and I love the speakeasy-like entrance. Staff was nice, but they did make sure to tell you tip wasn't included in the bill and waited until we tipped- not typical for Spain. read more

Well, here we have it.. Paradiso, named one of the best bars in 2023. We arrived at Paradiso earlier in the day to place our name in the Queue via a QR code and went about our day. Eventually, we were alerted that it was our time! Upon entering, the atmosphere was very welcoming. We were seated at the bar and that is definitely the best seat in the house! We were able to see every cocktail being made and felt that we had a more intimate experience with the bartenders. It was truly the best bar experience I've ever had! Amazing doesn't even describe the staff.. they were phenomenal, but also very skilled in what they do! I also can add that they were entertaining and kept the environment very fun. Now on to the cocktails.. they were soOOO delicious + beautifully crafted! Paradiso is an EXPERIENCE and each cocktail is also an EXPERIENCE! Also, the pricing is quite reasonable for what you are getting.. delicately, thought out cocktails that are made to perfection. I highly recommend visiting if one ever gets the chance. read more

The number one bar in the world definitely lives up to the title. The place is always packed of course and expect a wait. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. The menu is detailed and well curated. The drinks all have different quirks and special effects to them. One drink even included a VR experience prior to drinking. Every drink was exquisite and worth the wait and price. The bar is darkly lit and decorated with florals and bottles of liquor along the walls. It's definitely a fun atmosphere. I would highly recommend this bar in Barcelona. read more

UH-MAY-ZING! Wow. Finding this bar in Barcelona was just luck. Going into the bar everyone stopped and greeted us in - even the bartenders! I felt so welcomed. Now let's talk about the ambiance! It's dark with cool decorations everywhere! Our waiter took us to a table, had a light ready for us and when we put in our drink order in they took the light away and let us enjoy. This is a very lively place so do expect it to be loud with everyone talking but it was such an experience. The drinks were out of this world. They all have a theme that goes with them and when brought out the waiter explains them and sets up the drink. Coming from the Bay Area in California, these drinks are so reasonably priced for what you get. Presentation is A+++ read more
Paradiso is ranked as the number one bar in the world for good reason. The menu is extremely creative, and the cocktails are served in very intricate vessels. I ordered the Great Gatsby, which was an elevated old fashioned. The cocktail was served with Macallan, white truffle honey, amaro, lavender, and smoked with vanilla and chocolate tobacco. The mixologist served the drink in the smoking glass, which really enhances the flavors of the cocktail. The drink was spectacular. The bar itself is very cool, and seating is limited. The bartenders are helpful, funny, and entertaining to watch as they create cocktails. Wait times are long, but good things come to those who wait. read more

Paradiso definitely lived up to the hype. This was listed as one of the top speakeasy's in the world. You definitely want to come early as there is a line. We got there around 11pm and waited about 30min to get in. Marcus was working the line and was very nice and helpful. Pro tip, you can sit at the tables outside and order drinks while you wait to get in. You do not lose your place in mind. Hmmm, stand in line or sit and sip while we wait. Sit please! The entry is through a door that looks like it goes to the kitchen/freezer. It is small inside but a good vibe. Music was good, they played some classics from 80/90's. As for the drinks, wow!!! Just look at the pics. I ate coffee bubbles, my wife had an apple mushroom, and they make a Macallan 12 old smoked fashioned with white truffle honey drizzled manchego cheese! Our waiter was Tommaso, and he was great. Made it a great night. Definitely worth the trip if you are in Barcelona! read more
The hardest part about Paradiso is getting in to Paradiso. The Cocktails are extravagant and delicious. I've yet to try the pastrami, but I'll be back to get it. The Supercool Martini is an edible science experiment. The vibe is sexy: dimly lit with great tunes in the background. The service is a bit slow, but they make up for it when it's your turn to experience the spectacle that is your cocktail. read more

These weren't just drinks, everything was an experience for the table. We tried about half of the menu and every single item blew us away. We had a great afternoon sampling beverages and enjoying fantastic service. We arrived right at opening and didn't have to wait long at all. read more

Hidden behind a pastrami storefront lies Paradiso - a paradise full of drinks, dashingly handsome bartenders, and demure decor. This speakeasy is fairly easy to find due to the string of eager patrons lined up against a mostly empty alley and the chatter about this Top 50 Bars of the World recipient. Once admitted through the line, customers will follow the host through a fake refrigerator into a dimly lit bar whose tables are snuggly fit. The bar is narrow but reaches deep into the building with only a handful of tables and limited counter space both facing towards and away from the bar. The drinks themselves were always delicious (some more simple in its make up and others more complex with the length of its ingredients list) however the real experience is in the presentation of the drinks. Each drink has its own trick. The Tornado is served on a platform that helps twirl the stemmed glassware contents into a spiral. The Kryptonite transforms a drink into a neon glowing drink in seconds. Best thing on the menu: Tornado - not only was the presentation of the drink amazing, the flavors of the drink were slightly sweet and refreshing with a slight floral smell/taste that ticked the senses Ambiance - slick bar with even slicker, friendly bartenders. Dimly lit with a number of upholstered stools and couches. No real music played or I couldn't hear it over the chatter of the various groups. Note - we showed up around 6pm on a Wednesday and waited in line for an hour for a table for 2. Best to show up early or right when they open or else you'll wait for 1-2hrs minimum! read more

Our favorite bar in Barcelona. Me and my girlfriend are both bartenders so we always like to visit the best bars wherever we travel. We had also tried other very good bars but paradiso was definitely our favorite one. The guys we very welcoming, engaging and created a fun atmosphere. The drink presentations were next level and the taste matched it. If you can only visit one bar in Barcelona we recommend it be paradiso a big thanks to Dorian and Matteo as well as the rest of the team. read more

May 2023: This bar is #1 with a 2 hour wait list for a reason! Behind refrigerator doors in a store front lies the low lit, intimate vibe of Paradiso. We had the most unique novelty cocktails here they are sure to not disappoint. The wait list is made easy through your mobile phone so you can enjoy dinner elsewhere while waiting for your spot to be ready so you dont have to wait in the street. Once you're there the ambiance and vibe of the bar is absolutely unmatched. We got The Cloud, The Flemming, and The Paradiso Express all of which were so uniquely flavored in their own ways. This bar is a total must when youre in Barcelona! read more

Feels a little overhyped but if you're looking for a trendy cocktail bar this might be for you. The drinks are pretty unique, and all come in super unique vessels which is maybe for the gram. We also ordered the hot cheese & pickles (maybe it had a better name but we were given an English menu and that was the translation). But on to my biggest complaint... we were seated at the chair rail portion across from the bar and there was a cockroach that approached us and then proceeded to crawl up the wall. Unsure if we would have gotten another drink but this definitely convinced us it was time to go. read more

Voted the #1 bar in the world this year! Located close to the gothic quarter in Barcelona; you'll find this popular bar. It's located on a non-assuming street and has a speakeasy feel to it. Even though we came on a Wednesday night at midnight, there was a long time out the door and took us an hour to get seated. You can order drinks and sit outside while waiting to get in. The place is not very large and is dark/red light and filled with an almost futuristic tropical vibe. Their cocktail menu is extensive, with a drink for any type of cocktail lover. Each drink was only $13 but was very unique in terms of flavor (one drink even had hints of mushroom)! The fun part of this is that every drink is interactive and the presentation is 100%. One of my drinks came in a toy train, treasure chest; and one was in a shell to drink in. For another one, they gave you virtual reality goggles to envision what taste they wanted to represent. All of the servers were wonderful and knew the complex drinks so well. Next time we come back to Barcelona, we will definitely come back to this bar! read more
This place made it on the list for World's 50 Best Bars at #3 for a reason! While the line can get pretty long and take a while, the entire experience once you get inside is worth it. We got there fairly early at 7pm and waited about 45 minutes and did see the line continue to grow the later it got. The interior is really intimate and all of the staff were extremely enthusiastic and made the experience even better. The drink menu itself was enough to impress us. It lit up with a ton of options and everything honestly sounded and looked so good. We finally decided on The Cloud and Aurora. Both were delicious and looked like art! Highly recommended coming here if you're in Barcelona! Come early to avoid too long of a wait, but again, super worth it! read more
This bar was voted 2023's #1 bar in the world by several publications such as Conde Nast and Forbes. If you are in Barcelona its definitely worth a visit! We got there about 20 minutes before they opened and there was a line of about 30 people already. They have a QR code with a virtual queue but we were told that the line we were in was going to be faster than the virtual queue. (FYI: They will only allow a certain amount of people to physically stand in line before the start telling people the only way to enter is waiting in the virtual queue.) We waited about an hour total which we were expecting. Once we got inside service was quick and the servers were friendly. All drinks were extremely reasonably priced, I was expecting to pay at least 20 euro for any drink but the most expensive drink for one person was 17 euro. We got four cocktails and two tapas for 75 euro. In America the drinks alone would have easily been $75 in a place like that! Every drink came with a presentation and a story, it was truly spectacular. I get why they were voted #1! My first drink came with a VR headset that I wore as my server explained the flavors of my drink. The table next to us got a drink that had this "tree" as a base with a small potted plant on top. The server poured the shot into the plant and the plant filtered the liquor as it dripped into the cocktail below. Another drink we saw turned fluorescent green when the server poured it over the ice. It also came with a flower that has psychedelic properties and will make your mouth feel funny. Another drink came in a book with a piece of edible paper on top that was made to look like a page from the book. My friends cocktail came with a "cloud" that the server played with before placing it on a hook hanging over her drink. (it floated so he would let it go then catch it again and again with a little stick.) He instructed her to suck it in all in one breath, she said it tasted just like a sip of coffee. Barcelona knows what's up when it comes to mixology bars, this place was truly an experience. I didn't even talk about the food! So we got cheese and pickles which sounded so random but it was AMAZING! The cheese was the consistency of queso but was very sharp and the pickles were like those little gherkin pickles but weren't as sweet as they are in America. The combo was SO good! We talked about wanting more pickles and cheese several times throughout our trip. We also go bread with smoked butter, it sounds so simple and it is, but the smoked butter was a beautiful treat! Seriously ya'll. If you are ever in Barcelona YOU MUST GO TO PARADISO. You won't regret it! read more
