Still going strong here with the occasional meditative floats!…read more Tip for the girlies: for a more comfortable float experience, use the packaged ointment they give you and smooth some onto your lady bits down there. Just in case, so you have no unexpected irritation messing with your nirvana.

First time floater! Read about this a while ago and always talked about doing it. A friend of…read moremine had done it several times and highly recommended. Not only did I want to do this to figuratively wash away 2023 and bring in 2024 in a more peaceful, calm setting - but I also happened to throw my back out 2 weeks earlier and was looking to stretch and soak the pain away. The experience was amazing from start to finish. Upon entry, we checked in at the front desk. We signed in, signed waivers and watched an introductory video explaining what we were to expect. We removed our shoes and socks and left them in cubbies up front. If you do not have flip flops, there are paper ones available for you to walk the premises in. This is where I tell you to bring your own flip flops if the idea of paper ones turns you off. From there, we were brought to our private rooms. Inside my room was the float pod, a sink, a shower and a spot to leave belongings. They provide disposable ear plugs, which you'll want to use as you'll float with your ears submerged underwater. Everything is explained again before you're left alone in the room. I disrobed and showered. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash, along with a washcloth and towel are provided. You're not to use conditioner prior to entering the pod. Once you're done, it's time to submerge yourself. There is a handle which you can pull the cover of the pod down easily. There is a button to control the lighting, along with a button to control the music. Additionally, there is a small spray bottle full of fresh water that you can use should you get the salt water in your eyes. Admittedly, I had to use it - twice. If you feel too enclosed, the choice is yours to float with the pod open. I went in with lights to familiarize myself with the pod. I listened to music on and off. The music is soothing spa like type tunes. The volume controls were perfect. I chose to do the majority of my float in the dark with moments of complete silence. It was peaceful. Calming. The water warm. The way it flowed over me, suspending me mid pod was so relaxing. I stretched to the left and right. Arms to my side. Above my head. Completely outstretched. Allowed my toes to guide me along the way throughout the pod. At one point, rested my arms, criss cross, under my head and fell asleep for maybe 5 minutes. I didn't want to sleep. I wanted to be in the moment so I made myself wake up lol. After the hour passes, a voice comes on indicating your float is now complete. You're to exit the pod at this time and shower again. While I was showering, the filtration system in the pod comes on filtering and cleaning the water you just exited from. Once dressed, there is a primping station down the hall. They have lotions, deodorant, individually wrapped combs, q-tips, a hair dryer. I brought my own personal effects but this is good to know in the event you'd like to travel light. Once ready, I relaxed in the common area. Made some tea and just took everything in. I felt a calming sensation. At ease. Super relaxed. I could've gone to sleep. We stuck around for maybe 15-20 minutes. Once we were ready to depart, we visited the front desk and paid for our time. $93 later, I really enjoyed myself. The front desk woman was super pleasant and explained everything perfectly. This may be something I choose to do at the end of every year to cleanse myself of what the year has done and to prepare myself for what's to come. It also may be something I choose to do again if my back gives out or I'm in any type of long term pain. Quite an experience, which I highly recommend.

They were so warm about switching an appointment I mistakenly made in a different borough. Dr. Daniel Bloomfield caused my senior frail cat unnecessary distress, exhaustion and…read moredisorientation. He harmed her by treating her for a symptom that was-not-my chief complaint, was not anywhere at the top of my very pressing and clearly expressed concerns. Dr. Bloomfield gave my cat an injection today for a symptom that was not even present, despite the fact that I texted, emailed, and verbalized my chief complaint & worrisome concerns to both to Bond Vet and directly to Dr. Bloomfield. My little cat is experiencing GI sensitivity. Over the past 2 days she's come very close to not-eating-at-all-for-24-hours, is sleeping a bit more than usual and is showing a near total DISINTEREST in eating. My little Missy is less than 5 pounds. She's very tiny & adorable, but also very frail (experiencing weight lost and near her complete limits). I was told by Dr. Bloomfield (and confirmed by his assistant) that Cerenia was an appetite inducing stimulant (and if it worked as hoped), would last for 24 hours. Seeing the lethargic, disoriented condition of Little Missy, I Googled Cerenia. It is NOT an appetite stimulant, it's PAINFUL (upon injection), causes LETHARGY and Disorientation. Why did my little Missy need this? Let alone Dr. Daniel Bloomfield did not handle Little Missy's body with compassion and respect; treated her tail like it was a handle (literally tugged on her tail) during the exam to get a look at her tush; not aggressively, yet, absolutely-not-gently. His "consult" was very fatalistic, he ignored my concerns, ignored my cat's smaller symptoms that -are- treatable to improve the quality of her life & instead was hyper-focused on her senior age. Both his dismissive and inattentive behavior during the consult and the Cerenia shot were harmful. Dr. Bloomfield caused Missy distress, sedation and disorientation. He worsened the very symptoms we came to him to address (with an extra "side" of disorientation that Missy did-not-have prior to his "treatment").

My husband and I feel lucky we found Dr. Brennan through Googling, and after our very first meeting realized that the mode of care he and Jais provide--expert, personalized, unrushed, warm, attentive, responsive--is truly one-of-a-kind in this day and age. Throughout my pregnancy, I continued to marvel that if I ever had a question or needed help, I could reliably reach Dr. Brennan or Jais (also highly expert) quickly via phone. I never felt like I was bothering them with questions or concerns. There was never any portal message tag that you get at other offices--it was always a prompt call back. This responsiveness provided me and my husband with great peace of mind, and it frankly ended up feeling like a bragging point amongst our friends, none of whom have had similarly personalized experiences with their providers. It felt like a gift to know that Dr. Brennan, with whom we'd been building a relationship for many months, was the doctor who would reliably deliver our baby (not the case at big practices). Our baby was breech and needed to be delivered via planned C-Section, which I felt emotionally prepared for, thanks to Dr. Brennan and Jais. Dr. Brennan's office coordinated everything well with Lenox Hill Hospital, which, by the way, was fantastic as well. The morning of delivery, when nerves are naturally high, Dr. Brennan's characteristic calm, kind, and witty demeanor was such a balm. Our baby was born beautiful and healthy six weeks ago, and my recovery has been smooth so far. I couldn't recommend Dr. Brennan more enthusiastically for the right family (those who want a highly personalized and un-rushed experience from an experienced physician). Thank you, Dr. Brennan and Jais!
