I was able to wait in the vehicle while they performed the service. They did a quick light inspection at the beginning of the service by checking the headlights, high beams, hazards and reverse lights. Tires were inspected during their multipoint inspection and fluids were topped off as needed before they pulled me through the bay. Excellent, thorough and efficient service and technicians were kind and courteous.

My 16 year old took his dirt bike into Hicklin Power Sports in Grimes to see if they could do some…read morediagnostics on it to see why it wouldn't start. He asked them not to take the bike apart unless they were able to put it back together as part of the diagnostic work. When he went to pick his bike up, the entire motor had been removed and was in parts (the main parts were in a box and then there were 4 large bags of bolts and other small parts also). Hicklin charged him $500 for the diagnostic work and then said it would be another $4000 to put the bike back together. As a result his bike has been sitting unusable in the garage for several months. Hicklin Power Sports completely took advantage of a child and put him in a position where he would be forced to pay $4500 to fix his bike, unless he knew how to fix it himself.

After having work done on my wife's car (a car starter installation) I was driving around and notice that her blind spot monitoring was having an issue. I called Car Sound to have them check their work, since I was unaware of any issues until the car starter was installed. I was able to get an appointment quickly. Upon inspection of the car, the owner of Car Sound came to me, after inspecting the installation work, with the owner's manual explaining the safety features of my car. I was aware of some of the information, but it was very helpful to have a professional explain the features with detail. During this time, an office manager was looking up information on her computer to find out what could cause the issue. Between the owner and office manager they diagnosed the issues and showed me how I could check for the culprit if I ran into that issue again. I called the dealership to see if they would also check the issue out and make sure that there aren't any other sensor issues. Long story short they told me it would be $180 just to bring it in. I went home pulled a panel off the car cleaned out the rocks and am no longer experiencing issues. When I went back I was told that 2 of the techs had driven it and found nothing, only road noise. I explained exactly what was happening and was told that replacing an alternator would not cause those symptoms and rather than inspecting the vehicle or addressing my concerns, I was told to take it somewhere else. I then drove directly to Bob Brown Chevrolet, where I was informed that there was definitely something wrong with the vehicle, although they were unable to perform a full diagnosis until a later appointment. My vehicle was operating normally before the alternator replacement and developed severe vibration and grinding noises immediately afterward. am extremely disappointed with how my concerns were handled. When a customer returns within minutes of a repair reporting a serious issue, I would expect the shop to investigate rather than dismiss the complaint. I will update this review once I receive the dealership's diagnosis and repair findings. The Following is what AI told me when I put in my exact symptoms: "Your new alternator or its installation has a major issue. A loose mounting bolt, a misaligned or over-tightened serpentine belt, a bad pulley, or a defective new part is causing the severe vibration and grinding noise when you stop. Stop driving the car immediately to prevent damage or a breakdown. What to Check Right Now The Belt: The serpentine belt may be slipping, misaligned on the new pulley, or riding off-track. The Bolts: The mechanic might have left an alternator mounting bolt loose, causing the whole unit to shake against the engine block The Pulley: A defective or incorrect pulley on the new alternator can grind or bind up." Call the shop that installed the part right away. Tell them the car vibrates and grinds only after they replaced the alternator. Ask them to tow the car or fix it under their workmanship warranty. Do not drive it back if the grinding is severe" I will see them in court for the cost to fix their incompetent sloppy work and the stupidity not to know the systems of an alternator install issue and letting me drive the car to possibly cause damage to my car.
