The smaller playground was too babyish for my three year old so we decided to brave the older playground so he could play with big brother. He handled the slides like a pro, but I had to spot him on all of the climbing apparatuses. I was thankful to have their grandma my husband and on the playground with me because my toddlers were running around like feral animals and I had a difficult time keeping up with them constantly testing their limits on the playground equipment! There is plenty of parking along the playground as well as benches for the parents. This is a great spot for kids to burn off some energy before or after dinner! The trails drift between flowering trees that hold plaques indicating their type. It's an adventurous park where kids can come play at the playground. You can start with the 1/2 mile oval and completely level walking, jogging or running path. It has multiple covered rest benches and a big open middle for activities like kite flying or frisbee. Then cross the bridge to a few miles of trails surrounded by trees flowers and local wildlife. There is also a canoe launch for access to the Etowah River. The park also has an amphitheater that hosts local bands and other activities. Two brand new playgrounds for the little ones, very clean restrooms and some nice pavilions with picnic tables make this a very nice place for family outings. A 58 acre park that connects to other parks and trails makes this a 5 star place for almost any activity. Well done Canton. Another feather in you cap.

Since it is relatively new, all the equipment is in good condition and well functioning. Honestly, there are a lot of things to keep kids occupied from swings to slides. I can keep myself busy if you ask me :) There are some benches to sit around/have a picnic but overall not very big. The park is gated so it's fairly secure and there is plenty of parking. There is an adjoining open area if you want to get your dogs and let them play around (note: this area is not a true dog park as there is no place to throw doggy poop other than going back into Ethridge park and throwing it in there). An amazing walking trail to honor the US veterans, and all laid out in a beautiful manner. I really enjoy coming here to ride my bike or walk my dog.
