The smaller playground was too babyish for my three year old so we decided to brave the older playground so he could play with big brother. He handled the slides like a pro, but I had to spot him on all of the climbing apparatuses. I was thankful to have their grandma my husband and on the playground with me because my toddlers were running around like feral animals and I had a difficult time keeping up with them constantly testing their limits on the playground equipment! There is plenty of parking along the playground as well as benches for the parents. This is a great spot for kids to burn off some energy before or after dinner! Highly recommend Blue Ridge Playground to any family!

A nice moderate trail deep in the woods, which I liked because the shade kept everything a little cooler. The trail is very easy to follow and not overly long. Caution needs to be taken as there are many tree roots extending above the ground and could easily cause a trip. Careful is key. A rise in elevation of approximately 300 feet over half a mile makes it a decent cardio walk. With many different trees, plants and flowers along the way. All culminating with a beautiful waterfall. Note: depending on the season and amount of rain will determine the amount of water coming over the falls. Two minor items that need to be corrected. 1. Yelp has the wrong address (or pin drop) I'm not sure which. Not even close. 6 more miles down a gravel road to be exact. I'll try and fix that. 2. Not one sign or directional indicating you're are heading in the right direction. But other than that a very enjoyable experience.

It's on church property, but there was plenty of parking by the park. Not crowded at all for a Sunday. More children and their parents came to the park after church let out around 12:15. We came on a Friday in the evening and it was great! There was just the right amount of people,…read moreenough so that kids could socialize, but not too many that it was unsafe or people waiting for swings, etc. There is ample natural tree shade on the play area and some covered picnic tables as well. My child's favorite was of course the zip line. I have never seen such a cool feature at a public park. It seemed new and everything was in good shape. There is a trail around the park so you can bring a bike as well and enjoy a ride, walk, or jog. So glad we live close to this amazing park for the kids. PRO TIP: If it is during non-school hours, park at the elementary as it is closer to the playground than the main park parking lot.

This is not artistic expression; it's vandalism and selfishness. Instead of appreciating the beauty of nature, visitors are forced to look at layer after layer of damage left behind by people who clearly have no regard for preserving anything for others to enjoy. It's honestly sad to see such a beautiful place ruined this way.
