After a…read morevery negative experience with a contractor who left us high and dry, I stopped at the Emerson location in the hopes of trying to track down some missing materials that the contractor promised he had ordered months ago. As I suspected, the materials had never been ordered. Upon hearing this, Kevin, Chris, and Jeff very easily could have wished me well and sent me on my way. Instead, what they did was above and beyond. They turned a very negative experience into some thing truly amazing. Even though the store was quite busy, they took the time to listen and helped me troubleshoot. Then, they reached out to a local contractor (Karl Drehwing) to see if he might be able to help us out despite being incredibly busy. Karl arranged for a few of his guys to come and help us. (Thank you Justin, Jared, and Greg). They did amazing work. Prior to their arrival at our house, Chris worked closely with me and Karl to get the materials needed. Chris was extremely patient; again going above and beyond. Both Chris and Jeff continued to reach out to me throughout the process to make sure all was going well. Because of their kindness, my family will be able to enjoy Christmas in a house that is warm (literally) and put back together! My family and I will be forever grateful! I was impressed with their service and selection and had no idea when I walked in what was the appropriate tile needed for floor and walls in a bathroom. She took the time to understand what I was looking for and explained the different types of tiles and helped me find selections that matched my vision. The showroom is huge with an extensive selection which makes it overwhelming but with Berna's help I was in and out within the hour. The delivery charge was reasonable and ability to schedule as needed. It's a little hard to find (around the back of another business) but well worth finding this place. Typical materials that you will find here are steel studs, all types of drywall, drywall accessories, insulation, and a vast variety of ceiling tile and ceiling grid. The staff that work here are amazing! The one guy who works at the counter pretty much knows what I'm getting, since I get the same stuff all the time. The guys who work in the yard/warehouse are super friendly, the one guys is always like, "What's up pappi!" you'll know who I'm taking about. Holy crap, these guys are efficient! I'll give you an example of time spent on a typical visit here. 5 minutes ordering what I need. 5 minutes picking it up in the yard/warehouse. Total time: 10 minutes - boom! Upon delivery I opened all the outer boxes to make sure there was no damage to inner boxes and order was fulfilled. Outer and inner boxes were pristine. My tiler, as he began project this week, discovered more than 18 sq ft of tile were broken inside the inner boxes. Totally unusable. Extremely poor packaging for porcelain tile. I called TileBar customer service immediately to ascertain possible solutions or a refund on damaged materials. Her response was we can send you ideas in 5-10 days, rush order not available. Then deliver alternative tile in another 5-10 days, no rush order. No discount. No refund, not even partial one as apology for crappy packaging. Customer service, Nora, repeatedly told me "company policy". I asked how to file a complaint about packaging. Nora said that wasn't an option.
