We now live a little farther away, but I am more than willing to make the drive because I completely trust them. Ms. Christine and Mrs. Jodi are warm, kind, and genuinely care about every child. They teach strong Christian values, good character, and create a loving environment where children feel safe and supported. My son loves his water and every single time I have picked him up his water bottle has been empty, or not on him and in a different classroom.. my son's speech was better back in February and now sounds like babbles. They have closed me and my family out of the camera feed sense moving to the younger 2's they claim they didn't change the password but I was informed they can by an outside resource. Nap time is for about 3 hours and son doesn't go to bed at a reasonable time due to this.. My son has had an incident report they don't call you about the incident.. they have complaints about child neglect.. I have attached the state license board information on this facility.. out of all the kiddie Academy this 1 has the most citations and complaints.. if there issue is with me doesn't give them the right to do this to my son or his family. I feel don't care about the children there.. especially management it's a paycheck to them.. I've personally had a teach come to me and say they don't care and this place is a joke.

At first I was intimidated by the parent involvement BUT I fell in love with it. It's great to be able to attend a couple days a month especially when you're a new mom and nervous about your child attending school the first time. It's rewarding feeling to help out, see what your child is doing and how the classroom runs. You can see the love of what she does and the care for each child. I learned SO much from Mrs Rebecca especially how to handle tough situations with toddlers just by watching her do her magic. She's incredible. Also because of your involvement you then make such great friendships with the other parents and creates such a great feeling knowing them and their children. It's my favorite preschool ever.

Every single morning they start by going into class ti wash their hands. The facilites are clean and playground is so organized. The staff is so sweet and very caring. They have their check in and check out system down. It's all on an app and you get photos everyday of the kids and their activities. If you are a worrier like me and have a hard time letting go, they make you feel so safe leaving your babies here. Also they have structure and teachings it's just not all play based. We've been at this school for close to 1 year. Let's start with the good:…read more 1) my child had the best time in the under 3 year old class (Ms Katie) and also during summer camp (Ms Anke). Teachers were great and curriculum was appropriate. Environment was safe, respectful and healthy. 2) starting at age 3, that's when things started to take a turn for the worse. My child's class has an obvious bully that is being protected by Ms Peggy and Ms Nikki. In October 2025 - the bully would hit my son and other kids in the class. I asked both Ms Peggy and Ms Nikki what is happening and they said the boys in the class play rough because it's age appropriate. Apparently this hitting was not isolated to just once or twice, this was occurring over an extended period of time. The kids in the class all say "XYZ is bad." (XYZ being the class bully) It appears Ms Peggy and Ms Nikki don't hear me when I address this matter. I wrote a note to the parent to inform them that their son is hitting my son and the behavior needs to stop. Peggy let me know verbally that she will ask Ms Nikki to separate the two whenever they start to fight again. In March 2026 - another incident happened. This class bully used potty words (verbally attacking) on my kid and wouldn't stop. This is the 2nd time that this class bully was left to run around and wreak havoc on other kids, especially mine. I want to add that this interaction was unprovoked, my child did not do anything to this bully. I wrote again to the parents and no response. I let Ms Nikki know that my child is NOT attending this school to be a punching bag for another child while this class bully is trying to test boundaries and "develop". How is this behavior appropriate? How is this behavior acceptable? My kid doesn't go around whacking other kids and talking smack in their face. My child is attending school to learn in a SAFE, healthy and respectful environment. As parents, we want our kids to be SAFE, HAPPY, and be SUPPORTED at school. With these 2 separate incidents, this does NOT make me feel that my child is supported in this environment. Peggy and Nikki indicated they will separate the 2 kids indoors and outdoors to minimize interaction but it really appears to me that they are protecting this class bully rather than my child when my child is the one being attacked. I am sharing this experience so that other parents can see how one class bully can cause distress for other kids, and TRUTH will always be brought to light!!

We visited three other nearby schools, but Slater Montessori stood out immediately. While other places felt disorganized and had a cold, business-like administration that treated us like just a number, this school was completely different. Ms. Elizabeth and Mr. Deyon are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They know every single student by name and always communicate so thoughtfully. The administration is top-notch--always well-organized and great at keeping parents informed. The teachers here are phenomenal! They truly care about the kids, ensuring they are safe, happy, and having fun every day. My son has learned so much, including his alphabets, phonics, math, and valuable social skills. This is just a summary of our experience. May yours be better if you choose to go with The Wave. Our son started at The Wave in June 2023 shortly after he turned 2. We previously had him enrolled in a daycare since he was 7 months as we are both working parents. This was our first experience with a preschool and we were enamored with its promise. The Red Room (2 year olds) was full of support: Miss Megan, Miss Debbie, Miss Sherrill. The after school and summer program was amazing: Miss Sharon --who helped us with napping and potty training advice --and Miss Kristi --who always loved on my son --were standouts. We were gracious when our son was bitten (teeth marks and bruise left on his hip) early on into enrollment, but it was because we are understanding that toddlers can be toddlers. We came to every event, supported the book orders, and were genuinely smitten and communicative with our teachers. Being a public school teacher myself, I try to be the parent I wish to have supporting me --one that works as a team in student-centered goals. In fall 2024, things started to go awry. The Yellow Room (3 year olds) had a teacher who left due to starting a family and the position was filled by someone who went to preschool and church at Beachpoint. She was co-partnered with another teacher whose demeanor is quite cold. The majority of the class were girls. As August turned into September, we started getting behavioral reports for our son. We met with the director, Mr. Gabe, and set goals. We were cooperative, but my husband did bring up the point that my son either never had problems prior to this school year's room assignment or were never notified. We believe the latter point struck a nerve with Mr. Gabe as the behavioral forms turned from one a week into one given every day or even multiple times a day. Things that ranged from throwing toys (which we held him accountable for --we are not delusional when it comes to parenting) to playing with the decor (they had used a salt and pepper shaker and turned them into some decorations) and running towards pumpkins. We were called for early pick ups (once we dropped him off at 10:20 after an appointment and were called back to pick him up at 10:57 am) which was a struggle for two working parents to arrange coverage and run to grab our son. We met again with Mr. Gabe and he gave us the opportunity to change rooms mid-October. Miss Bell was a blessing and for two weeks, our son was improving and Mr. Gabe said he "couldn't wait to partner with us." Then, at the end of October, he left us a voicemail to set up another meeting. Conveniently, the end of the month was when our tuition was already paid. He wanted to dismiss our son. Concurrently, Miss Vanessa at the front office had suggested we get our son assessed. I was unclear on what he needed an assessment for, but as a teacher and parent, I wanted to make sure I was cooperative and checked off the efforts. Fountain Valley School District was phenomenal (shout out to their school psych Mr. Justin) and was able to observe our son at The Wave. After much effort (we had to take work off to be on hand for the asssessments), our son did not qualify for autism nor speech delays. It was just further validation that our son was ...a 3 year old boy being a 3 year old boy. I waited almost a year to post this review because I wanted to be able to look back and fairly examine what we went through. I now have the hindsight to understand that I had "dream school" goggles on. I see more clearly now that the school really worked with families that had easy daughters or obedient sons. Mr. Gabe even said, per our dismissal, that his school follows the teachings of "Jesus who goes after every lost lamb" but that unfortunately his school didn't have resources that we needed. I bring this up because in the winter, we enrolled our son at another preschool, and he is THRIVING... and the school has no more resources than The Wave. What they do have are all experienced teachers of 15+years who have huge hearts and patience for littles. I was initially ashamed of being "kicked out" of The Wave, but when I shared everything that we went through, the new school's director just said... "Your son's been on this earth for what...3 years? He's a boy. He's a kid. He's learning!" We haven't had an issue and he'll attend TK there next year. To top it off, some of the Wave teachers still keep in touch with us and after his dismissal, a few dropped off gifts or attended his tball games (in the spring too). It's a conflict of interest as it's their work place, but I think they empathized for our experience and loved our son. It was a hard lesson to learn, but if you are a parent, don't be afraid of your intuition.

When we went to tour the preschool my mama heart just melted. It truly feels like a home away from home for my son. My son has loveddddddd everything about Joyful Noises. The teachers and Jill the director are all incredible and love all the kiddos as if they were their own. He comes home so happy and just goes on and on about his friends and teacher. So thankful for this place it's truly a hidden gem
