At the time, they had an outstanding kindergarten program where he learned to read right away. Today, he is in the GATE program and continues to thrive academically. When it came time to find a preschool for my daughter, I only needed care two days a week. Ms. Christine and Mrs. Jodi were incredibly accommodating and worked with us to find a schedule that fit our family's needs. We now live a little farther away, but I am more than willing to make the drive because I completely trust them. Ms. Christine and Mrs. Jodi are warm, kind, and genuinely care about every child. They teach strong Christian values, good character, and create a loving environment where children feel safe and supported. Another thing I appreciate is that they prepare their own meals, which gives the school such a personal, family-like atmosphere. They have their check in and check out system down. It's all on an app and you get photos everyday of the kids and their activities. They treat my kids as if they were their own and genuinely care about their well being. They do a variety of activities outside, arts and crafts and expose them to a variety of foods instead of having the same meals every day. They update you through the app for every time they change their diaper, every meal they eat and every nap they take. They also upload lots of pictures and videos throughout the day which makes it that much better to see the little ones! My only complaint is the price which is fairly expensive but I guess you can't put a price on quality care of your child and knowing they are in safe hands.

I absolutely adore the pictures they take and send on the kinder app. I look forward to them so much during my work day and it brightens my shift so much. They're always incredibly responsive when i send messages on the app also. We had a spot open up at my husband's job's onsite daycare that we had waited for for a long time and ended up declining it because we could see how much the consistent caregivers and community my son has gotten used to there was important to us and my son's development. We don't want to change what we have there and the relationship's my son has built. So glad we landed here .

Disclaimer: Part of my wait in reviewing was in part of a fear in retaliation --in that our family…read morecan be smeared negatively in a reply by the director-- but ultimately, as a reader of this review, you can do with it what you will. This is just a summary of our experience. May yours be better if you choose to go with The Wave. Our son started at The Wave in June 2023 shortly after he turned 2. We previously had him enrolled in a daycare since he was 7 months as we are both working parents. This was our first experience with a preschool and we were enamored with its promise. The Red Room (2 year olds) was full of support: Miss Megan, Miss Debbie, Miss Sherrill. The after school and summer program was amazing: Miss Sharon --who helped us with napping and potty training advice --and Miss Kristi --who always loved on my son --were standouts. We were gracious when our son was bitten (teeth marks and bruise left on his hip) early on into enrollment, but it was because we are understanding that toddlers can be toddlers. We came to every event, supported the book orders, and were genuinely smitten and communicative with our teachers. Being a public school teacher myself, I try to be the parent I wish to have supporting me --one that works as a team in student-centered goals. In fall 2024, things started to go awry. The Yellow Room (3 year olds) had a teacher who left due to starting a family and the position was filled by someone who went to preschool and church at Beachpoint. She was co-partnered with another teacher whose demeanor is quite cold. The majority of the class were girls. As August turned into September, we started getting behavioral reports for our son. We met with the director, Mr. Gabe, and set goals. We were cooperative, but my husband did bring up the point that my son either never had problems prior to this school year's room assignment or were never notified. We believe the latter point struck a nerve with Mr. Gabe as the behavioral forms turned from one a week into one given every day or even multiple times a day. Things that ranged from throwing toys (which we held him accountable for --we are not delusional when it comes to parenting) to playing with the decor (they had used a salt and pepper shaker and turned them into some decorations) and running towards pumpkins. We were called for early pick ups (once we dropped him off at 10:20 after an appointment and were called back to pick him up at 10:57 am) which was a struggle for two working parents to arrange coverage and run to grab our son. We met again with Mr. Gabe and he gave us the opportunity to change rooms mid-October. Miss Bell was a blessing and for two weeks, our son was improving and Mr. Gabe said he "couldn't wait to partner with us." Then, at the end of October, he left us a voicemail to set up another meeting. Conveniently, the end of the month was when our tuition was already paid. He wanted to dismiss our son. Concurrently, Miss Vanessa at the front office had suggested we get our son assessed. I was unclear on what he needed an assessment for, but as a teacher and parent, I wanted to make sure I was cooperative and checked off the efforts. Fountain Valley School District was phenomenal (shout out to their school psych Mr. Justin) and was able to observe our son at The Wave. After much effort (we had to take work off to be on hand for the asssessments), our son did not qualify for autism nor speech delays. It was just further validation that our son was ...a 3 year old boy being a 3 year old boy. I waited almost a year to post this review because I wanted to be able to look back and fairly examine what we went through. I now have the hindsight to understand that I had "dream school" goggles on. I see more clearly now that the school really worked with families that had easy daughters or obedient sons. Mr. Gabe even said, per our dismissal, that his school follows the teachings of "Jesus who goes after every lost lamb" but that unfortunately his school didn't have resources that we needed. I bring this up because in the winter, we enrolled our son at another preschool, and he is THRIVING... and the school has no more resources than The Wave. What they do have are all experienced teachers of 15+years who have huge hearts and patience for littles. I was initially ashamed of being "kicked out" of The Wave, but when I shared everything that we went through, the new school's director just said... "Your son's been on this earth for what...3 years? He's a boy. He's a kid. He's learning!" We haven't had an issue and he'll attend TK there next year. To top it off, some of the Wave teachers still keep in touch with us and after his dismissal, a few dropped off gifts or attended his tball games (in the spring too). It's a conflict of interest as it's their work place, but I think they empathized for our experience and loved our son. It was a hard lesson to learn, but if you are a parent, don't be afraid of your intuition.

Let me start off by saying that I'm so impressed with the entire staff and the the Huntington Beach TLE location, and their attentiveness to each individual child as well as involving the parents in every day activities with more than just simple updates. From being able to interact with my son on any given day at school to be able to check in on him through the app that provides by son's entire day itinerary is so fulfilling and puts me at ease. Since the first day that my son started a year and a half ago until today, I've seen such major improvements in his social skills and his willingness to learn because the environment is so inviting. I can honestly say that I have built a personal relationship with almost every staff member at that location and it's part of what makes me feel comfortable, dropping my kid off confidently every single day without worries.. Even down to the smallest details, the staff here takes pride and making sure that every parent and every student is addressed and welcomed with a warm smile upon entry and hugs before they leave. I'm so thrilled that the school has completely surpassed my expectations as far as a and have thoroughly me confidence that my kid will succeed after graduation and in his new school. My experience with this location was very disappointing. While the center presents itself as professional, my personal experience as an employee was very different. I felt that workplace policies and expectations were not applied consistently, and that affected how situations were handled. The most difficult part of my experience was that my daughter was not allowed to return to the center because of an employment-related issue involving me. She was not involved in the situation, and that decision had a significant impact on my family. Throughout my time there, I experienced communication that I found to be inconsistent, and I left feeling that I had not been treated fairly. Because of my experience, I would not recommend this location to someone considering it for employment or childcare. I hope management takes concerns like these seriously and works to improve how employees and families are treated. read more

They should let us put a 10 starts for this place. We started our son at this day care at one years old. We have since been sooooo happy with everything TLE has to offer. The facility is beautiful, the teachers are absolutely fantastic. You can really feel that they care about your child. My son never cries on his way in and is always happy and having so much fun throughout the day. They always call if there's even a little issue to inform the parents which I like. Management is on top of everything and handles everything in a very timely manner. We've absolutely loved our time at The Learning Experience in Huntington Beach, where my daughter has been for the past 18 months. As a working parent, I'd be with her every day if I could, but I'm so grateful for the wonderful teachers who step in with such care and energy. She comes home sharing new things she's learned that always catch me off guard, in the best way. The pictures they send give me a peek into her world and are the best part of my day while I'm at work. We are just about to start our third week at TLE, but I am blown away with how wonderful and welcoming the staff and teachers have been. Everyone is so attentive and has made this transition so much easier for me. At 20 months old and never having been in daycare or away from parents/close family, my daughter is still finding the transition a challenge, but I can already see such a positive difference in her capacity to learn and social interactions. I love everything about The Learning Experience in Huntington Beach!!!! Love all the staff, teachers, assistant director Miss Cheyanne to the director herself Mrs. Cole!! They are all so welcoming and positive and smiling beautifully EVERY DAY! It is so clean and the classrooms are so bright and colorful. They are great about reporting snacks and meals on their app and diaper changes and photo updates of all of the fun activities throughout the day and outside play time. I can not say enough great things about this location! I put my 1yr old here when I returned to work and she is absolutely thriving here. The staff is absolutely the most caring and kind staff any parent could ask for. The app allows for me to check in and see what my baby has been up to! I get photos of her doing activities, what she ate, when diapers were changed, and even how long her naps were. The facility is extremely clean, organized and safe. I couldnt ask for more. Both my son (Felix) and daughter (Dorothy) went to tle for 2.5 years. Compared to their peers they are both more knowledgeable and sociable. It was a wonderful experience and worth the investment. Both of my kids have graduated and it is a bittersweet moment. We got to know everyone and see them everyday. Our Dorothy went from being a shy little girl and turned into a social butterfly. I can't recommend The Learning Experience of Huntington Beach enough. I opened the school 3 years ago. I did leave for a brief time but couldn't stay away. From the characters to curriculum and staff to the memories that are made on a daily that will last a lifetime I couldn't be happier to be back. She is so happy she will run to the door in the morning and it brings me so much comfort knowing she's somewhere that she loves. I hope the Bright Star Learning Center and continue to operate in the city of Huntington Beach to support future children.

Where do I begin. This is hands down the best daycare I could've sent my son to. Not only that, he had some great friends with him. These are all skills and friends he made while attending Patti's Preschool for the past 1 1/2 years! We were on their waiting list for years and when we got the call, we were thrilled our son could go to Patti's and get a taste for "real school". It was beyond our expectations. Patti herself knows our entire family by name and often greets us personally at drop off or pick up. Miss Susan and Miss Pam were his teachers both during the year and for summer camp, and both are warm, funny, caring and supremely patient preschool teachers. When I tell friends and family about the pony rides, magic shows, "mad science" special guests, and puppy days at Patti's, they can't believe it! We feel so lucky to have had the chance to experience Patti's program and our son is set up for a lifetime of LOVING learning. If you are looking for a program for your child, part time, full time, or summer camp, look no further. Once you walk in, you're welcomed by Ms. Sandy and Ms. Megan who are so helpful and kind. The teachers (we had Ms. Tammy and Ms. Shondra) have a way with the kids where they create a special bond with each of them. My daughter absolutely loved them (she also told the teachers she loved them!) I was so impressed how much my daughter learned and developed while there; she really came out of her shell! Everyone there knew my daughter's name and it really made the place feel like a second home. Ms. Patti is still vert present around the school and I really appreciated that. We didn't have any family around that could help and I am forever grateful that I had Patti's preschool as my "village" in OC. 1000/10 recommend.

My son was diagnosed with speech delay prior to enrollment. He started speech therapy the same time of his enrollment, I spoke with Miss Sharon and his teachers about my concerns, in which they would all reassure me that he interacts and plays well with the other kids. They would also work with him in asking him "choice" questions rather then yes/no question to elicit speech from him. Now my son is talking and sharing all the adventures him and his pals do during free play, who's classroom he was in, who was in timeout and why (which I do find funny), and the activities they did that day. He has "best friends", which I like to call the 3 Musketeers as they are always playing together and give each other hugs in saying good bye for the day. He is always happy to go to school and excited to share his day with me when I pick him up. The school was also very flexible and accommodating with my work schedule as I was transitioning roles at my work.

The staff/teachers are all amazing, the grounds are kept clean, and our favorite part is that it is faith based. Prices are very reasonable. They have a fob system throughout the facility so they building is secure. Our son attended from 2 years old through their Kindergarten class; we wished that they went beyond Kinder. Now our daughter attends. I couldn't imagine sending our children anywhere else.
