The entire building (basement, garage, main floor and second floor) is full of very well organized items. There were spiderwebs and visible dust in some places but overall pretty clean. I wanted to wash my hands before I left but bathrooms are currently not available to customers due to COVID. All staff wore masks, hand sanitizer was available at the door, and all other customers that I saw had masks on as well. Each floor has at least two means of egress via stairs. There is an operational freight elevator but I'm not sure if they allow customers with mobility challenges to use it. I like that their sections of records and books had been sorted by genre - that makes looking for a specific title much easier. We found the prices a little high though we didn't find anything to purchase and negotiate. Lots to see, some beautiful wood furniture, and we would definitely stop back.

Some of it is fairly priced while other things are overpriced, as some have mentioned. I believe this is due to there being different consignment sellers, so even within a product category you can find a range of prices and selection, e.g., vinyl records. If you know what you're looking for and know your prices, you can find some good stuff, I have for sure. If it seems a bit too much, I've seen them call up a seller if a customer has a lower offer. This has a vendor style set up, and seems to change around. It is winter, and I will say the place is freezing, but it gave home to a little room up and to the side that had a friendly man who really turned his space into a little oasis. It was shut off from the rest, had space heaters and was well curated with items. It was a really fun place to find. Recently they seemed to have turned the front into a redemption center for recycling. I am all about recycling but it did smell really terrible. It was also cold enough we didn't get to explore all of the floors. In the waaaaay back there is a door labeled with a sign that says "unheated! Close door behind you!" This vendor space had some really gorgeous antiques in it, with a few lights I am still thinking about. My advice is to go, dress warm if its cold outside, and prepare for a little adventure as there are twists and turns and places to find everywhere. Not all the stairs are connected too, so if you find a place with stairs, go up them!

Antiques West is an incredible Syracuse gem that anyone who'd enjoy wandering through a deceptively…read morehuge maze of antique, vintage, and secondhand items would be crazy to overlook! It's a one-story warehouse-style building that's been sectioned and compartmented off into smaller areas where the wares of dozens (I think---it seemed that diverse, anyway) of individual vendors are arranged. The layout of the actual interior is deceptive in that you eventually reach a point toward the back of the main building where you realize that a series of doorways (and with abundant signage indicating what you'll find through each one) actually leads to several additional huge spaces beyond, each with even more items to browse. One of these "back room" areas contained multiple racks filled with vintage clothing (both women's and men's) that had clearly been carefully curated via the vendor's high standards of overall quality/vintage condition, and the diverse range of clothing types (costumey vs. casual/everyday vs. formal/dressy, etc.) was particularly impressive. My visit to AW happened accidentally and with only about an hour remaining until they closed for the day, so I know I didn't get to see all the rooms, let alone all the items, that were available at that time. Even so, I managed to find a wide selection of things to purchase (art prints, vintage collectible calendars, 5+ articles of clothing, two beautiful lamps, and more!) and was definitely able to confirm AW as a 100% worthwhile stop to include on any list of must-visit Syracuse antique/vintage shops. And what's more, every single staff member and vendor that I encountered while I was shopping went absolutely above and beyond in helping me find my way around, learn more about the back stories of certain items I expressed interest in, and trying on the clothing items I'd picked out prior to deciding whether to buy them. They seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me as a first-time shopper, and in turn I got to know several of them on a first-name basis even in the short amount of time I had to spend that afternoon. All in all I have nothing but positive things to say about the entire experience I had at my first Antiques West visit, and I can't wait to go back again soon!
