I really wanted to like this Marriott, but my experience during my stay here was just not good enough for me to even want to stay there again if I am in Paris. This hotel is located on the Opera side and close to the Lafayette shopping mall. Within walking distance, you can literally buy and shop and bring your stuff back to the hotel. The staff was mixed with some being nice and others being crazy rude. Overall we asked why we didn't have internet wifi for a day and they just gave us a snarky reason, that the wifi was broken and they can't do anything about it. The inside of the room was actually pretty and large. The only cool thing about this place was the breakfast and the lounge access. I did enjoy that the most. Excellent stay for Paris Fashion Week! I loved my week here at the Opera Ambassador and Valerie, in the executive lounge, was a gracious host! She gave amazing recommendations for sightseeing and took great care of us in the lounge! Love the food and drink options-- and I can't believe how much better the lounge was here vs. our usual in the states. Just WOW! The hotel is boutique-y and nicely laid out. The on-site restaurant and bar are both great. The bar has crafty drinks. I loved my room as it was quite spacious and clean with a modern touch. I'd definitely return as the location was perfect for our trip to Paris, and it's not far from everything I wanted to see and access during my trip! This is a wonderful hotel to stay at! I am a lover of high-end hotels and the Paris Marriott did not disappoint. The ambassadors lounge is a lovely experience in which you can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The customer service was top-notch. The bedrooms are so lovely. If I could have one change, it would be that they put Parisian bath products in the bathrooms. Unfortunately, they used the basic, lower end American products. I definitely recommend staying here. The location is fantastic. You are close to the subway, close to wonderful shopping, and it is very safe and centrally located. read more

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, nothing went wrong what so ever. The rooms were updated with navy and white themes, big mirrors on the closet doors and well decorated. I will say the walls are thin, with the old windows you can hear the noise on the street. My room had ample space for my bag and to move around. There was a small fridge in the room. The highlight for me was the Marriott lounge, the breakfast knocks any American hotel breakfast out of the park. The service in there was superb and friendly. They even have gluten free bread options if you ask. The shower amenities are subpar, it's the same brand for Fairfield inn and the lower brand in the US. That was a disappointment. Nothing extra was given to me for being ambassador, no room upgrade or gift awaiting when I entered my room. Rooms will not be ready early but they will hold your bag for you. read more

First time in Paris with my husband! Staff extremely helpful and friendly! Beautiful views of Paris- you can see the Eiffel Tower and Sacre Coeur. Conveniently located near metro entrance a short walk outside the hotel. We are Abound/Marriott members- the Executive Lounge one of the best by far! Breakfast served with a great assortment to choice from. Appetizers, sweet treats and drinks in the early evenings. Love having full stocked refrigerators with water and sparkling water. Coffee machine that makes expresso, lattes and cappuccinos. We enjoyed complimentary drinks at the hotel bar! cheers! Our room was lovely, matching robes and slippers. Towel warmer in bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in mounted dispensers. Great for the environment Refrigerator and safe in room. Concierges Dylan and Annop weee awesome! We had 2 separate stays at this lovely hotel. Our first 4 nights were outstanding. The service excellent, the concierge's helped so much. Our second stay was for a single night and our room was not the greatest. The bathroom door would not close and the light entering the bedroom from the street was absolutely sleep inhibiting! If we had been staying longer than one night, I would have asked to change rooms. Convenient to many tourist destinations, we walked most of the time! read more

This is a lovely Marriott property. The king room was spacious (extremely so for Paris), beautiful, and comfortable. If you have status or pay an extra fee, the executive club has nightly drinks with snacks and a morning breakfast that were both quite nice. There is a view of the Eiffel Tower from the executive club which is very nice for sitting with a glass of wine and watching the lights after a long day. The location is certainly a bit touristy but is quite close to many things, including multiple Metro stations which make connecting into other parts of the city relatively easy. The negative comments about the shower temperature and the thin walls are true, however they did not really impact our stay. They could be big issues for you in some conditions so keep that in mind. We also didn't have climate control issues as it was late fall and not necessary. As theses things were not a major issue for us, I'm giving 5 stars for the rest of the experience, but your mileage may vary. read more

Extremely Disappointing Experience at a Previously Trusted Hotel As a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite member, I've consistently chosen Marriott properties because of their reliable service and elevated experience. I stayed at the Paris Marriott Opera Ambassador in August 2024 and had a wonderful time -- which is why I confidently returned this April (3rd-11th). Unfortunately, this stay was drastically worse from beginning to end. It started with being given the wrong room at check-in. We let that slide, but service continued to disappoint: simple requests like towels were ignored, and the biggest issue was with housekeeping. A personal hair towel, which was distinctly mine and hanging on the drying rack in the room, was taken with the hotel laundry. We flagged this to the front desk, who were sympathetic, but guest services were unhelpful and dismissive -- even asking us point-blank: "What do you want us to do for you?" Eventually, we spoke with the manager, who offered to reimburse me for the item. I provided the receipt and banking details as requested. Since then, over a month has passed, and I've received no reimbursement and no further communication -- I was simply ghosted. To make matters worse, when we checked out and asked the front desk to help us call a taxi to the airport, a staff member pointed us to a car idling outside. We assumed it was an official taxi -- after all, we were at a Marriott. It was unlicensed, unmetered, and we were scammed into paying an exorbitant cash-only fare. It's hard to describe how disappointing it is to have this kind of experience at a property that carries the Marriott name. This stay didn't just fall short -- it completely broke the trust I had in this hotel. I won't be returning. If you're considering staying here because of its location near the mall, I'd think twice. The rooms are very outdated and in desperate need of some major revamp. Small, aged and not even maintained at basic level. Like another reviewer, I also was not satisfied with their cleaning standards. My desk was filled with dust and crumbles from a previous guest, which made me question the overall cleanliness of the room, The bathroom had scarce amenities. We had a wonderful vacation to Paris, and staying here made our trip much easier. This hotel is centrally located, close to the Metro and many of the historic areas and museums of the city. We were able to walk and explore the city on foot. The staff was very friendly, even with our limited French language skills, and they were very helpful in planning our train ride to Versailles. The breakfast was very good. Yes, the room was a little small, but it was what I expected in an older hotel, and the room was remodeled and very comfortable. read more

This place was amazing! My husband and I stayed for 5 nights in early Nov 2025. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and it didn't disappoint. We used suite night rewards to upgrade to an amazing suite-felt like we were living in the heart of Paris rather than staying in a hotel. The staff exceeded our expectations by helping my husband choose a beautiful bouquet of flowers for our room, and adding some candy and champagne as well as a personalized card. We worked with Mohamed, Dylan and Dounia-all exceptional. The executive lounge carried a wonderful breakfast, snacks and coffee throughout the day, and a heavy happy hour with many tasty treats and complimentary wine and beer. The main server there, Kishor, was phenomenal-my glass was never empty! His manager, Valarie was helpful and easy to talk with. They made sure we had what we needed. Should have read the reviews first, but choose location to train station first as we had a very early train out. Bar and restaurant staff were very good and attentive. We ate at Sixtine and the meal and service were very nice and not too pricey considering. Concierge was helpful and pleasant. Checkin was OK, but could tell front desk staff were not having a great day. The room was not big, but we were coming from a 2-room villa at Disney Paris, so knew it would be an adjustment, but the water closet was literally a very tiny closet separate room from the bathroom with sink and shower. And entering the room through a very narrow hallway with closet and bathroom doors on either side was awkward and not attractive. I enjoyed the bed and thought it comfortable, but my husband did not sleep well. Like most European rooms their idea of AC was a little lacking and the room temperature fluctuates between almost comfortable and humid. We would not likely stay here again- too many other options. The kicker was the known construction and water issues which I think should have been mentioned on the site before a reservation is made. The price also DID NOT reflect the inconvenience. read more

The service was good, so I feel very bad leaving this honest review regarding the room quality. And there was also a very visible mouse in the hotel lounge right outside of the bar. I heard several people complain to the bartender to inform him. The response was that the hotel was aware, but due to a worker issue with garbage pick up, it was causing this problem because there is too much garbage, which attracts mice. I really wish I would have known this prior to eating the food prepared there. I do have to emphasize the staff were very friendly, and worked hard to provide good service, and making sure guests were happy. It's unfortunate the room and the mouse were issues. The location is excellent! It's in a very safe part of the city and only several minutes to walk to multiple metro stops. You can get to all of the major sites within minutes on the metro, which is much faster than car service. read more

Major construction happening right next door!! Will go on for a long time!! I got shock out of bed early, they were literally drilling into the wall of my room! The entire floor you can hear construction. Front desk staff was not helpful AT ALL. I had to wait and talk to multiple people over multiple days before they actually helped me and moved me properly, by that time I had to already check out. Waste of money. I would have been more understanding but the staff was rude, unsympathetic and every time promised me something and then forgot. Never received emails or calls they promised me to figure out a solution. I spend my 3 nights there more in the lobby having to wait to talk to a staff member than enjoying Paris. I've stayed at other hotels in Paris and never had such a major headache / issue. This hotel was soooooooo hot. The room was 25 Celsius and there was no way to lower the temp. We called the front desk and they had maintenance turn off the heat to our room we asked for a fan. They said they don't have AC. Strange for a Marriott not to have air conditioning or any way to control the temp in your room. The water in the shower would go from extremely hot to cold. Great centrally located hotel. I decided between Marriott Opera and Westin Vendome. We booked a junior suite which was plenty of room for the king bed and a decent sized roll away. Overall we were very happy with our room on the 2nd floor. The room included breakfast daily in the lounge although I think I could have gotten that with my bonvoy status as well. It was a nice way to start a day and save a little money. They also offered evening wine and some food. We made it one night and it was decent but honestly I'm not in Paris to eat hotel food. The view from the lounge was great...Eiffel Tower on one side and Sacre Coeur on the other. Also close to metro, restaurants and shopping and about 15 minutes walk to the Louvre and high end shops in one direction and Montmartre in the other. read more

Unfortunately one of the worst Marriott hotel stays I have ever experienced. The hotel has so much potential with its phenomenal location, updated spaces, spacious rooms, etc. The rooftop lounge is a great amenity and the staff working the lounge was the most pleasant on the property. The stay started with us pulling up to the hotel and the doorman standing by the door literally just stood there and watched as we unloaded and heaved our bags to the entrance. Didn't offer to help, didn't provide us with a luggage cart, and didn't even crack a smile. Upon check-in, I asked for a mobile key - apparently, it doesn't exist at this hotel. The worst part came after we got to our room and realized it was 77 F in our room. I messaged on the app and was told it would be fixed. After we came back to our room 6 hours later, nothing had been fixed; instead, someone had dropped off a fan? Called down 3x, but no one picked up. I had to physically go down to the front desk to speak to someone. I first mentioned that no one was picking up the phone, and the front desk agent (older gentleman wearing glasses) looked at this phone and goes "ah! It was off, now the phone is on". Why would the reception phone ever be off? I was then told the AC was broken in the hotel and there was nothing they could do. I asked for a Manager, who came out and said they were gradually checking each room to see which had AC. Even though this was a hotel problem, they were not willing to walk any guests to other Marriott properties. Both the agents and the Manager were rigid, unyielding, and frankly not empathetic at all. Every time we were downstairs, there were multiple other guests complaining about the AC as well, so it wasn't just us! After much deliberation, we went back to our room to wait - 2 hours later we were told there was an AC room ready for us and we went to check it out with the FDA. This room was still 74 degrees, and that was with all the lights off and curtains pulled. We requested a room with actual AC blowing. Over a course of a 3-night stay, we never received a new room or any further accommodations. I checked at least twice a day on the app and the same generic response came through "sorry we're working on it". The entire hotel is hot and stuffy - do not stay here unless you want to be sweating your entire stay. Our shower was also designed in a way the floor was not slanted and there is no door. When we showered, soapy water flooded the area outside the shower. The water temperature also fluctuates drastically due to water work being performed on the block (this apparently has been ongoing for 2 months, as we had a friend stay here in June). So unfortunate; not Marriott standards by any means on the service. read more

Guests sleeping on the lobby furniture also waiting for room assignment, lobby has no AC we are all dripping wet. This hotel is a cluster! Management needs to change. It is an embarrassment to Marriott name. This is not rocket science, they know days in advance how many checkouts they will have today, they know how many rooms a housekeeper can clean in an hour so they can accurately calculate how many housekeepers are needed between noon an 3 pm to have all rooms available. The hotel has great potential. Location is very good, the room sizes are fine and staff is dedicated. Unfortunately, you'll be guaranteed a long check in line, noisy neighbors and hardware in the rooms that work poorly at best. Called to have my broken deadbolt fixed and maintenance arrived quickly. When they left I was told it needed reprogramming. Dummy me, there it remained broken for my visit and now sits ready for the next guest. Im a Marriott Titanium guest, had too many things with me to request a quieter floor or changed room for a properly functioning door. So much for upgrades... M lounge was well stocked but crowded. Lounge in lobby is convenient but windowless. I'd try one of the other Marriotts if heading this way. read more

7th time staying here and only kept giving a chance because it is a Marriott property. Slowest check in process in the world. Small fitness room. Dont think you and a weight challenged person are getting on the elevator with luggage because you wont fit. The lounge is subpar with very little food assortments. There isn't even a benefit of being an Elite Diamond member as there aren't any perks worth having. The restaurant food is a low C at best. The front desk people never know how to add late checkout, switch credit cards on checkout, accommodate mobile checkin, or even handle simple tequests for directions. The only reason it gets 3 stars is because of the location to Galleries Lafayette and Printemp and Cafe de la Paix. read more

One of the worst Marriotts I've ever stayed at. The building is OLD and the walls are PAPER thin. I understand this but not when I can hear my neighbor's child screaming through the wall. Come on!! Also our room wasn't as clean as expected. There were coffee rings on the white table that clearly hasn't been cleaned since the last guest. Stains on the sofa didn't make me feel like it was clean whatsoever. The shower leaks which creates a puddle in the bathroom every time you use it and the water temperature is inconsistent between scalding hot and cold. The entrance door to the room itself was also missing a safety latch. The AC is crap it doesn't go below 23C in the dead of summer. AND last but not least forget sleeping in because housekeeping starts pounding away at rooms very early. It sounds like they are about to BUST through the paper thin walls. We had to call downstairs to ask them to stop because it was so loud! All addressable issues by the hotel staff like these really take away from the overall experience. Especially for jet lagged travelers who just want a nice clean quiet place to call home during their trip. There are far better hotels in Paris! Very disappointed with this Marriott experience! Pros: the chef and manager in the Executive Lounge save this place! They are the one and only highlight. Also when we got back to our room today there was a note from the hotel manager stating due to city work there wouldn't be water in the hotel from 8:30a-6:30p the following day. Ah Marriott. I love Marriotts, we try to only stay in Marriott hotels while traveling. This one, was a huge disappointment. The lobby was always packed, each time you went to the front desk you waited in line. This hotel was not cheap so we decided to blow out 160,000 points to stay here for 5 nights. Upon arrival our room wasn't ready. They held our luggage while we waited and we went up to the concierge lounge where we were promised a great view of the Eiffel tower. OK, sure, if you stand against the window, and your head against the glass. When our room was finally ready (this was a deluxe room, a step up from the superior room), we went and unpacked our 22 days worth of luggage. This would be our first mistake. At 5:30 we went up to the concierge lounge for drinks and snacks. The drink selection was great. Lots of liquor, and a good selection or beer & wine. The food was gross. Cold pasta, cold microwaved pizza, some chips and nuts. Oh and a small amount of desert squares. The staff was friendly though. We go do our touring around Paris and come back later that evening and settle in for a couple drinks and relaxation. We pull out the glasses provided in our room only to find that they were covered in chocolate. We call for new ones, the new ones delivered, are dirty and one is chipped on the top. We also find that our towels are dirty, with hairballs (gag) on them. We found bobby pins near the bed. Overall, the room just wasn't clean. The next morning we talk to the front desk. They convince us to move against my better judgement. We had to go pack up the room, move to another and unpack again. We arrive in the new room, which is now an executive room. We are unimpressed, the lower level room was a much nicer room. That night we got to take our showers only to find that the shower doesn't drain. I had to keep turning off the shower so it wouldn't overflow on the floor. We repeatedly asked in the next day for someone to come fix it. No one ever did. Also, the A/C seemed to be broken in this room. We would wake up at 2 am sweating because of the heat (and it was a cool time outside in Paris!). The manager apologizes for all we have had to deal with and promises to credit me 30,000 points for our troubles. Two weeks and a few email requests later, the points were never given to me. I had to call Marriott rewards directly and then send them a copy of the email to get the points added. One more note, DO NOT eat breakfast in the concierge lounge. The food that is supposed to be hot is cold and vice-versa. I will say the breakfast spread downstairs in the morning is great, just don't get there right when it opens because it takes them at least 20 minutes after opening to get the food out. I have been a Marriot Rewards gold/platinum member for ten years. I have stayed over 700 nights. I have NEVER been as DISAPPOINTED, DISSATISFIED, UNHAPPY...as I was this past week while staying at the Marriot Ambassador Opera Paris. From my arrival until my departure there was not much I could say was enjoyable. We arrived at 2:45 PM and were told check in was at 3. I was given a key to the Lounge and told that someone would deliver my key in about 15 minutes. 90 minutes later I went to the desk to check on the room and it was ready, I was told it has been ready for over an hour. I was also told it was a lovely room with a view. The room view was of a rooftop...and mechanical equipment. Additionally, there was work being done outside of the room early in the morning and later in the evening. NOT LOVELY I requested extra towels, online notes the request was filled. NOT SO. We were out and about on day two. We left at 10 AM and returned at 6:30 PM. OUR ROOM HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED YET. I was told they would send someone up right away.. I requested that it be done in an hour, we wanted to clean up prior to dinner. It was finally cleaned at 7:50. Now for the final issue...we checked out and went outside to request the bellman get us a cab. We were told that since we didn't order one (no one at check in told us we needed to) there was nothing they could do. He then told us TO WALK UP THE STREET TO THE CAB STAND...we each had a suitcase and two carry on bags. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. My issue with this hotel is that I am staying here for 9 nights for business, and the temp in my room is 25C. They brought me a fan, which has helped a little, but it's 77-78F in my room. I've asked twice about it, and apparently nothing can be done. Also, the internet is abysmal. It's all WIFI / public. My work Outlook won't even open in my room or the lounge. Nice hotel, nice area and walking distance to the metro. A lot of pluses. We stayed in room 571 - the room itself is pretty large by Paris standards and all in all comfortable. There was a whistling noise non-stop coming from the bathroom which made it a bit hard to sleep. The temperature control was hard to manage too - our room was always too warm. We didn't get housekeeping service either - we had a our DND sign up in the morning - and when we left it was gone. Upon our return, the DND sign was up and we never got our room serviced. Very strange. They have a nice bar - the cocktails were very good. I don't think I'd stay here again, but it is a decent property overall. read more

AC Doesn't cool room enough! You can't get the rooms cold, our family traveled here and when we arrived the rooms are barely cold even when fully running the AC. Also the decor is bland, very beige/brown look. Breakfast is good, but overall I wouldn't come back. They are friendly and attentive but the rooms, elevators, decor are not Marriott standards you would see in the USA. Just needs a lot of upgrades and decent AC is a must! Also there's no running vent in your baths, so it gets extremely warm and muggy. Not too fond of this and it's not luxury if it's supposed to be :( read more
