Imagine if you will, driving your vehicle into a shop, knowing that the only thing needed to be…read morefixed was a wire end connection, that broke the positive wire free from the starter, everything else running perfectly fine, to hearing back from the shop that after they had fixed the wire, that now not only will your vehicle not start, but in trying to start it it makes a terrible grinding noise. Starter motor now obviously has a new problem. After poor treatment from shop staff, paying $150 for the wiring fix, and no information given as to how the vehicle you drove in, now needs to be towed to be moved, you tow it to a friends shop to find out the cause. In examining you find that not only did they do a shotty job on the connection fix, but they had obviously taken out the starter motor to make room to do the fix, and most likely dropped the starter motor in process, because the nose cone of the starter was broken, and the broken off piece was just dropped inside the transmission casing, hence the terrible sound. The shop took no responsibility for their f' up, even knowing that the starter was new, and still under warranty. Welcome to SK Auto! I have never had worse treatment or service in my life, and can not worn enough people to STAY AWAY FROM THESE SHYSTERS!!!!!!!

I took my car for a standard service and to take a look at a warning light. I came away with a totally flat battery (couldnt even start the car in the forecourt and the warning light not dealt with). To top it all they charged me $500 for a $375 retail price Battery. They also charged me 30% more than I was quoted over the phone for my service and couldn't explain it other than to say it was a receptionist who misquoted me. Mike tried to BS me that he had placed a better battery, but his product code which he had cleverly disguised so clients can not cross check the price, aligned exactly with what he had fitted. I called him on it and of course he went silent on me. No responses whatsoever. To miss a flat battery, makes me wonder what else wasn't completed in this car service. When lining up to pay for the car on collection, both clients in front of me were complaining of overcharges against quotes already issued. This seems to be quite a common issue with MIDAS WEST VANCOUVER. This is the last time my family will use MIDAS. We are not idiots MIKE. Don't hide behind your email. When you get called out on your BS, be a businessman, and answer your clients. Try and win them back. All you have done here for the sake of scraping an extra $200 out of me is loose our family custom and raise awareness to anyone reading this very fair and truthful statement NOT TO USE MIDAS WEST VANCOUVER. Which brings me to the negative. Their prices are absurd. The repair quotes I got were double what I had done at another Land Rover specialist. Their parts prices are marked up any 100%- 150%, however when I was there they are clearly selling lots, perhaps people don't know how to search online or don't mind paying the premium. If you feel like paying extra while you get talked down to, this is your shop. In the next 5-10 years as competition grows, I don't expect this shop to be around l unless it changes dramatically.
