I had a will call account with Amerigas but, unbeknownst to me, they filled the tank anyway. I…read morefound out because I received a bill for $720 for 200 gallons. Call #1: I called and confirmed that the account was will call. Told them I'd pay the bill and called other propane companies for information. Call#2: Explained that since the fill was not requested they needed to remove the gas. I was told they'd send someone out. Call#3: No one came out so I called a week later to find out when it was scheduled. They had not scheduled anything. This time I received a case number and was told a manager would call me in three days. No call. No voicemail. Fed up, I paid the bill and switched companies. Where Amerigas charged me $3.22/gal, this new company charges $1.65/gal. The customer service with the new, local company was exceptional, and they did what they said they would do. Do not use Amerigas unless you're okay with paying double for crap service.

The other propane companies that I was referred to (left unnamed) either didn't have the personnel available to fix the problem, didn't have the part, and/or there was a lack of competency that I didn't feel comfortable with. But when I called Vanderyacht Propane the fellow I spoke with at their main Lynden location knew exactly what I was talking about. I made the drive and he replaced the broken valve (which wasn't exactly easy to access) inside of 15 minutes. Not only that, but he filled my propane tank and tested the stove before I left to make sure that everything worked 100% for our travels. Totally worth the drive and worth every cent I paid for the job (which was going rate and very affordable). If I have any problems ever again with RV propane or any other propane need, I'm going to save myself time and frustration and go to Vanderyacht Propane. They have our locations: Lynden, Burlington, San Juan Island, Orcas Island. PS: Their office is very nice and they have a stupid fast propane-powered zero steer mower that's to die for.

Then that appointment got moved from them. Then couldn't get another date. And now they gave me a credit application to fill out. If its denied than they won't deliver the tank or propane. Real nice bunch of jerks. If I had lots of money I wouldn't be using Opportunity Council. Told them thanks and thanks for wasting my time. Opportunity Council was going to pay for the whole set up of tank and propane. So I could say that Northwest Propane discriminates against low income people. Finally, Anne, the older woman, moved away from the register to go put something away and looked right at me, but didnt offer to help or get someone to help. Finally, I asked if someone could help me get some paint and Anne, in a condescending, syrupy sweet voice said "We'll get someone right over to help you!" She's always like this-rude and condescending to the women, but oh so nice to the men. Its pathetic. Later, as I was paying for my items and my coupon didnt work, Anne came over to help the cashier and said "we're just having one of those days" while giving me a dirty look. Every time I'm in there, she acts like its a personal insult to have to help anyone. Just retire already. While I was waiting, I saw no less than six people working at the store on a Tuesday afternoon, so if any employees actually cared to help out, it would be a well-staffed store. Instead its just a bunch of paid dead weight. There's an older gentleman there, I believe his name is Martin, who is wonderful-very helpful and knowledgeable, but the rest of the staff is miserable. Given the multiple reviews over a span of years about the same issue, its clear that the manager and owner dont care, so now I drive all the way out to Lynden and support that well stocked store and kind and knowledgeable staff. Most of the staff at Lynden Ace are high schoolers but have much higher maturity levels than pissy old Anne.

I'm trying to call as I'm 30 seconds away so I don't have to come into the store. I told the you girl on the phone that I will be around the back, ad it was water softener salts. The conversation was literally "ok" *hangup*. So I pull in around the back, waited about 5 minutes. Nothing... called again and said I'm around the back. "Ok, I'll send someone right out." Of fine. The young chap comes out. Grabs what I thought was my product, and went around the front. Not long after that, he came around the back. So apparently communication doesn't thrive at this place. The nice young man came and loaded the item into my car. I get home and he had loaded pool salts. Not water softener salts. If I had filled that softener tank with that, who knows if any damage to the appliances, or skin damage could have occurred. Since pool salts are to chlorinate the pool. I took the item back to swap the correct one, waited in line as there was someone ahead of me. I don't know if it was a supervisor at the other register, but she could have at least acknowledged me standing there and tell me someone will be right with me. Like, you see me, right? I get the product swapped, but no apology or anything. And seeing some of the other comments here, I think the owner needs to reevaluate the work atmosphere there, because it's so basic. I didn't feel welcomed. This needs to change. Until then, I'll go elsewhere.

I did not pick up my…read moretrucks from the U-Haul Storage in Ferndale but they did absolutely everything possible to support my efforts, from helping me get the best prices, equipment, moving services and more. I must have gone to the store at least 10 times over six months, and each time I was treated professionally, courteously, and kindly. They were by far the most helpful of all of the UHaul stores in the Bellingham area. I highly recommend their services.
