I have order both flower and vegetable seeds. I am satisfied with the vegetable for the most part as the sprouted and grew some nice plants. On the other hand, the flowering seeds have not sprouted at all, nary a tiny sprout at all. I was so looking forward to having a lovely garden, but nothing. I wrote to their customer service asking what recourse we might have and was very cordial. We have not received a reply. It appears they have no after service care at all. As not a single flowering seed we bought grew, the value is wasted money. We will stick with our local nurseries from now on. A lesson learned!!! read more

I've been a customer dating back to at least 2011. I generally mail order seeds. I have never had a problem. I have always received exactly what I ordered. Going to the actual gardens used to be an event in the spring but not so much anymore. These days I would stick to mail order. They are currently behind because of the Cov-19 demand spike. They tell you on the top of the main page it is taking 10-14 days to process the orders. So if you want something you are going to need to be patient. Oh yeah by the way they sell good seeds :-) They have a wide selection and I have had high germination rates. Every plant has been what the seed says it is. So if you are tired of the packaged floor sweepings in the colorful rack at Wal-Mart give Park Seed a try. read more

Seeds delivered were much less than advertised. I ordered three packages of expensive giant pumpkin seeds. They claimed there were 10 seeds per package. When I opened the packages, in reality they shorted me about 30 percent. I called, was put on hold for 15 minutes and when I spoke to someone they were not interested in resolving this problem. It seems simple to me. They sold a product less than promised. Make good on it. Instead they said my order was out of warranty. I wonder how many other customers they have shortchanged??? read more

Gosh, I am so sorry to read the only other review posted by the gentleman that never received his seeds. That is truly an exception to what I know of Park Seed. I'm a third generation customer of Park Seed (grandmother, mom, and I all are huge fans). Customer service is so important to me, and I've never had anything but 100% from them and I'm sorry there was a lapse for the other man. All of my seeds and plants that I've ordered are thriving. Last year I ordered one peony that did not grow and it was refunded in full, as they were out of stock and couldn't send a replacement. By the way, order the Biodomes. Let me start by saying I'm an experienced gardener and am well aware of planting zones, soil quality, etc.. I ordered nearly $70 in various seed packets early this year from Park Seed. Everything arrived as ordered and at the appropriate time (late April/early May), I prepped a specific area. (Soil was turned, fresh garden soil brought in.) Totally disappointed. I purchased flower seeds, $50 plus worth (14 different seed types). On Tuesday, they send me an email telling me my seeds have shipped, even gave me a tracking number. That tracking number tells me they are still waiting for the shipper to release my order, which was 1 seed pack short. I sent them an email, still haven't heard anything back from them, and just checked again to see if my order has been shipped, it has not! Crazy Amazing - wish I could give 10 stars! Are you having a let's-wallow-in-self-pity kind of a day? (Apparently, I am). Do you want to prove, once and for all, that some of your online shopping decisions are highly questionable, bordering on just plain dumb? In the mood to waste some time, effort, resources, a beautiful summer and your good rapport with your family? Then, order from Park Seed. (Book a Disneyworld vacation if you want to go bigger.) Here is my experience: Ordered seeds and did everything per their instructions - germination was hit or miss (more miss than hit really, about 10% (of one item from the total 10) germinated) The worst was Blue Knoll Heteropappus - a blue-colored mum that I was desperate to get, and was only available on Park seed. It was beautiful enough to make me step over all the negative reviews the wise people had posted, and go ahead and order. Well, not one sprouted from the $3.95 packet - when other seed packets were at $1 or $1.29 at HD or Lowe's. Emailed them and was told I didn't raise my hand within their three months or whatever (this will change according to the situation to avoid refunding you anything) guarantee period. I replied and pointed out that the timestamp from my first email indicates I was well within that, but apparently the woman at the other end could not figure this out. After a few tries of this, I accepted defeat - can't go much further when the other party cannot calculate what does or does not mean 90 days out. The second time around (yes, shame on me), I caved to the lure of a beautiful Zephirine Drouhin rose that was an incredible steal. Combined it with their 10 for 10 deal and added Blue Knoll again (told ya, I am just not that smart). Well, they showed me. Blue Knoll refused to do a thing, again. $4 down the drain, again. The others germinated at about 30% this time. And the rose plant - well that was a good story. The plant's cost was about 60% of the total order. Billed the whole amount right away, and then refused to tell me when it would ship. After 3 emails of asking for the ship date, and no responses, I asked them to cancel that part of the order and refund the money. No response, and 3 more emails later, I gave up again. No refund ever came through. Finally, the plant showed up, sometime in June or July - when I had paid for it much earlier in the year. All it did that summer was put on leaves and growth, which can happen with roses sometimes, so this summer is when I find out just how big of a loser I am. Either the plant doesn't flower at all, or turns out to be a different type of rose instead of the one I ordered, remains to be seen. Considering it came from Jackson and Perkins (Park's sister company and complete cheats as well), I don't have much hope for it. I did, however, put it in a separate planter, away from my other roses, to ensure it isn't virused (shows you how much I trust this firm) and looking at the plant itself, can rule out that it is Multiflora (the only rose listed as invasive for Massachusetts and some other states). So why the 5-star rating? * As a warning * As an antidote To all the happy-go-luckies who come straight to the positives to read the real positives by a few other happy-go-luckies, and fake positives by possibly paid shills for Park (all the one liners with five starts - Beautiful Zinnias/ I love Park - say nothing at all about why they love it). Looks like they do this for Google too - get the ratings right on the big ones and don't worry about the smaller sites. PS: My trust in Trust Pilot is evaporating - on seeing Park Seed get a 7/10 score. Check Park Seed's reputation on old-school garden-focused review sites like Garden Watchdog and Houzz Garden Forums and other sources like Yelp/ Google before you make your decision. I ordered a bunch of seeds, some seed trays, and some seed starting mix. I get everything except the seed starting mix, so I can't get started until that comes! There was no explanation at all, it just wasn't in the delivery. No estimate of when I might get it. Finally, after almost 3 weeks, I call them to tell them I'll just take refund on that stuff and get it myself, and the "customer service" agent says, even though it "hasn't shipped yet', it's "too late to stop it". So all I can do is refuse it when it comes (whenever that is...if I'm here at the house), but then there will be a 20% "restocking fee". What a ripoff. But..they have my money now, and there's nothing I can do about it except write this review :( read more

Park Seed sent mean Empty package that was to contain 200 carrot seeds, and a package of lettuce seeds that was to contain 100 seeds, and only had 47 seeds. The lettuce seeds were a blend of two types of lettuce, however only contained two of the dark seeds. I spoke to customer service twice over this issue, as my emails were never answered. They were very rude, and would not let me speak to a supervisor. I WILL NEVER do business with Park Seed again!!! read more

Bought 2 persimmon trees and 6 cherry trees in the Spring . Planted them and they didn't seem as hardy as they should be. We have an orchard and so we are are not novice gardeners. Called Customer service and they said I had until the end of next Spring if they didn't survive. Called this Spring and they refused to replace them citing it was after their replacement policy. Just like the two gentlemen stated, Park Seed's customer service is atrocious. They email coupon codes without expiration dates, but seem to decide to deactivate them whenever they feel like it. I tried unsuccessfully to use a coupon code from an email received the day before. When it did not work, I saved the shopping cart, and used their online contact form. After three days they still had not responded to the email, so I called customer service. After a fair amount of confusion on their part, she said that the coupon code expired on the day that the email was sent. I indicated that there is no expiration date included in the email, and she agreed. Unbelievable! I said that I would look for somewhere else to order seeds from, and she said OK.
