Filthy laundry rooms, furniture replacement needs in computer room and common areas, multiple language signage for trash areas, etc. Negative and unhelpful staff interactions with residents, etc. Nothing was changed on any issues discussed. Unsatisfactory conditions in too many common areas continue but we've got a new lobby and dining room. We don't have meals service but CS-B continues to lease our kitchen to outside company. The aging infrastructure is still aging and some things are slowly being replaced or repaired but aesthetics are prioritized. We'd rather have clean functional laundry rooms and computer room without non working printer and scanner. Common areas without stained nasty carpet and furniture, etc. We'd like to walk hallways without smelling nasty oily garlicy cooking odors from leased catering company using our building's kitchen day in and day out. Management/residents communication is also challenging. We receive notifications of repairs but they regularly are inconsistent with actual dates. We are not kept informed about changes in timelines in real time. Our schedules are not considered. The bugs continue to share our space. The now mandated exterminator service is managed by one man. It takes about 4 mos to be in rotation to get every apt sprayed. You can request individually but all 3 bldgs (400+ apts) need service more often. Rudeness, incompetence and bullying continues by most of staff. On the surface this place looks fine but in reality it is a marginal HUD/Atlanta Housing Authority project. If management held their staff accountable, used their available funds (net assets $9M+ for 2024 Schedule 990 per ProPublica website) and prioritized daily residents' needs this could be a positive, safe and healthy place to age but they choose aesthetics to show off to their BOD and prospective residents. They get you in the door with mission statements of caring and integrity but then ignore your requests for the safe, clean apt and common areas you use daily. This is NOT the haven their website indicates IMHO!

Campbell Stone is a low-income senior housing unit that is directly behind the Publix in Buckhead. I can't say enough about this place. Let's face it, most of these senior housing high rises are depressing, they smell, and feel dirty. One of the few exceptions is Campbell Stone. With qualification for low-income, they take 30% of the residents income for rent, and all utilities are free. If you want cable, it is only $15 a month. Campbell Stone recently went under a $11 million renovation. So all the apartments are in great condition and are a decent size as well. They have food services if you choose, a chapel, a barber shop, a newstand type store, consignment shop, exercise facility, common garden, and a part-time Bank of America branch. They also organize trips to the mall, grocery, movies and excursions to North GA, etc. The best part though, is the service. The employees really do care about the residents, and are friendly and helpful. Twice, my father-in-law was out of town and both times they called wondering where he was, to make sure everything was o.k. That is reassuring. It is amazing that they even notice these things with 15 floors of residents. Security is also good, they wouldn't even let Comcast up to his apt. without his permission. Along with a few newer senior units up in the Brookhaven area, this is one of the best in the Atlanta area. Highly recommend!

That is to be expected though). The facility is kind of hidden from the busy roads which is great. The first floor has a large auditorium for services and shows. They even have a small outdoor playground for when the grandkids go to visit their Safta and Saba. My grandmother lived in a home like this during her last few years with us. It was nice to give back and watch my kids interact with those who have lived a lot longer than the rest of us.

Recently, my family encountered some issues with a move from one unit to another larger unit. I sent an email to the Community Director, Renatta Hamilton, outlining my concerns. Within 30 minutes of sending the email, she had scheduled a meeting with herself, the Executive Director, Pierre Chism, and the Maintenance Director, Khalif Smith. The meeting was awesome; I was immediately comforted by the concerned and caring response as well as the plan of action that was outlined and agreed to. Within 24 hours, 90% of the needs had been addressed, and the remaining 10% is being handled now. No matter how beautiful a place may be, to me it means nothing if your experience is tainted by inadequate management or unpleasant attitudes from staff. Dunwoody Pines has obviously put their emphasis on treating their residents with respect and dignity and grace.

My mother was a resident at Prema at Ashton Hills (previously The Oaks at Ashton Hills) for a year…read moreand a half. She passed away last month and upon reflection of our time there, I have to say this community is wonderful and I love and respect the people who run this facility. We moved my mom from another assisted living place that we were not fond of. Lindsey (activities director) is phenomenal! She plans interesting activities inside the complex as well as taking residents out into the community as well. My mom has gone to get manicures and pedicures, lunches, plays, local stores, and just going on "joy rides" to see Christmas lights. My mom LOVED Lindsey. As time went on and my mom didn't want to take her medicine, Lindsey would come to the rescue and always got my mom to take it if I wasn't around. She is super creative in facilitating different activities within the complex too. Heather, the nurse has been great as well. As my mom began to deteriorate, Heather was always there to help me with any questions and to give me the mental support that I needed. She guided me and help me to make all the arrangements for mom to come home to Prema from the hospital at the end. (And my mom did want to go home from the hospital.) She was always available to me and never was short or impatient with me. Heather the director is also a sweet and loving lady. She brings her two dogs to work and my mom and I loved seeing them. She always would see me if I had any questions from billing to personnel. As she has said to me once, "I got you." and she always did. Even Shawn who works at the front desk (after being promoted) would go check on my mom. As well as Shawn and Phoebe (the dynamic duo) who took such good care to my mom on a daily and weekly basis. My mom was able to do her physical and occupational therapy on site as well. My mom was a "faller" and the Prema team did so many wonderful things to keep her on her feet in lieu of a wheelchair. She stayed on her feet almost to the end. Keon, Ebony and Oliver, are amazing. The other residents are also very friendly and open. Mom developed a very special friendship with another lady and they would sit and talk or sometimes just sit and watch people come in and out for hours or until the next activity! :) Thank you Prema at Ashton Hill for being such an important and wonderful part of my mom's life as well as my own. My husband and I always say that when our time comes we will be checking into Prema too!

We visited this facility to check on a family member and were very concerned about the conditions…read morewe observed. Her room was shared with another resident, and the overall environment appeared outdated and poorly maintained. The shared closet space had broken drawers, and there were no locks to secure personal belongings. Additionally, there was visible paint damage on the walls, and the sink appeared unstable, holes in the walls, in need of repair and smelled horrible. During our 2.5-hour visit, no staff or nurses came by to check on her or assessed her needs she isn't able to take care of her self not even to eat. Basic care tasks, such as checking or changing her catheter bag, were not addressed while we were there. This lack of attention raised serious concerns about the level of care being provided. Overall, both the facility and its staff seem to require significant improvement. Based on our experience, I would not feel comfortable having my own family member stay here.

My grandmother didn't have that much dementia, but the place where we "placed" her was not nearly as wonderful as this Emeritus location. I think she would have been a great candidate for one of their "wings" - if only she had lived here and not in Rome, maybe we could have had her there. Here's the deal - Emeritus has 11 metro-Atlanta facilities, four that are dementia-specific, so to speak, and over 400 locations nationwide. From meeting with one of the key folks today, and meeting other staff and directors, it is clear that they are committed to the very best in patient care and treatment. Each resident has a nameplate on the door, and a photo/collage type thing next to their door with whatever they feel portrays them best- family pics, notes, etc. Even better, the four "sections" of the facility are decorated like....things that make you happy! My favorite was the "beach" themed room- and the hair salon! In one corner of a wing, they even have an old-fashioned mirror/dressing table and vintage dresses next to it. Wow. Beyond the aesthetics, it was clear that the staff really cares, and that anyone whom I love would be well tended to at this place...I witnessed staffers calling everyone they saw by name, carefully tending to the sofas in the lounge area, checking on people in their rooms or in the common dining area or group activity area. Really, it was - overwhelming. Bob Carr and staff do an incredible job, it seems - if I get totally *out there* one day, for whatever reason, this is the kind of place I would want to be.

I love how all of the activities are listed daily in the elevator. Mahjong is a huge hit here. The reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the food has continued to be kind of blah. Hopefully this will continue to improve as they make some adjustments. Even with not the greatest food, the company to time with seems even more important.

Caregivers and therapists are available for all. No need to leave to go another facility, Transportation to appointments shopping and outings are available all week. Fitness center is active and helpful and always ready to help different residents. Not perfect but close to it!
