We were fortunate to find a 2 bedroom and kitche area so we changed The second bedroom to a nice comfortable living room that has a door that leads out to a private patio. This is not cheap but after losing my father at the previous place these final years with mom I think will be comfortable here at Arbor Terrace. We came here after her brain surgery and she's had five strokes in the last two years and other injuries but no cancer and no dementia. I travel a lot but I'm with her at least three days a week and she's very demanding on the staff and me which is just her personality, but she's the love of my life and caring for her is my first priority I can't be prouder of the facilities here from the directors to the kitchen staff the medical staff all of the daily caregivers that works so hard to make everyone here as comfortable as they can be. I don't know how they do it. Everybody goes through various changes and illnesses in the later age but they manage it well. I thought I would write this during the pandemic as it's important to know that this location best that I can tell practices extreme safety, restricts entry from outsiders, are getting meals to everybody on time or three times a day every day, and dealing with family trying to see their loved ones who they haven't seen in over a month. There's many people to thank thank you all for the job you do the heroes that you are the care that you give to those we can't be with every day. Highly recommend!

My family and I were recommended to My Companion by the nurse at the assisted living facility where…read moreour parents resided. We were in crucial need of extra care for our dad while he was in hospice, then for our mom, as she went through the grieving process after he passed, then for her as she entered hospice. From the minute I spoke to Stacey on the phone, I was confident that her staff could provide what we needed. She was kind, asked all the questions that I would have never of thought about, and her condo demeanor put me at ease. During this whirlwind time, we went from eight hour shifts just for companionship for our mom to 24 hour care, with two aides working around the clock in 12 hour shifts. I can't express how exemplary Stacey and her team are. Throughout both of these back-to-back ordeals, Stacey checked in on us, the aides would text or call, and the report to notes that they provided gave us greater inside as to what was happening since we don't live in the same state. After our mom passed, Stacey would text to check up on us and see how we were doing. You just don't find this level of kindness and compassion these days. We also need to shout out an exceptional employee, Willow. Willow was our mother's primary caretaker and her love and care for our mom made all of the difference with our mom's illness and passing. Knowing Willow was our mom's caretaker put us at ease and because we knew she was getting exceptional care up until her last breath. Willow is a gem and has that special gift to connect with people, especially the elderly. She provides exceptional care within integrity, dignity, and compassion. We will forever remember Willow and Stacey, and we are indebted for how they helped us navigate unfathomable loss. We cannot recommend them highly enough to care for your loved one. Thank you so much, Stacey to you and your team for helping us through those darkest of days.

I am so very happy to have removed my dad from Exceptional Living Personal Care Home (ELPCH)…read morebefore it was too late. The very next morning after I moved him out of there, I noticed sores and rashes on his back and immediately took him to his MD the following week. My dad had lost 7 pounds, experienced severe muscle atrophy in his legs and extreme bruising and rashes all over his back and body. None of this was reported to me by the caregivers and none of these issues were present prior to him living at (ELPCH). The doctor was extremely concerned and immediately did some blood work which I am awaiting the results. I am a Nutritionist and I suspect the sudden weight loss was due to malnutrition as I witnessed some of the meals and snacks provided to the residents had little nutritional value. My dad informed me that the caregivers would often make sandwiches for dinner. I noticed that the food served was always some nondescript mush that was thrown together in a pot when I would visit just before dinner time. It was never what was written on the posted menu. I often brought him food and snacks to eat and he would always be very pleased that I did as he often complained about the food made for him. Exceptional Living Care Home did not provide daily exercise or activity time during the 11 months my dad resided with them. The contract specifically stated that daily exercise, activities and monthly outings would be provided. It was also posted on the bulletin on the wall near the kitchen. During my visits I noticed that my dad would be in his room watching television or outside in the backyard sitting alone. I discussed the importance of exercise and social activities for my dad as his walking becomes limited if he is constantly sedentary. One of the caregivers, by the name of Bev3rly was extremely rude to me and I witnessed her speak rudely to one of the tenants. I had several discussions and meetings about her rudeness and unwillingness to do her job with the owner. I soon came to the realization that Bev3rly's behavior was acceptable to the owner and that nothing would change and I knew I had to make other arrangements. I witnessed her speak rudely to the other residence so I was pretty sure that she spoke the same way with my dad when I was not present. I noticed that my father's ability to walk and stand up for short periods of time, had regressed and I expressed my concern to the caregiver, Bev3rly. She stated "well he is getting old." When I questioned her on the daily exercise that was supposed to happen daily, she stated that I should "hire someone to come in to exercise with him." It was clear to me that she had no plans to do this part of her job. When I shared my concern of my father's regression and that lack of exercise played a role, the owner agreed that it was the caregivers' obligation to provide physical activity daily and that she would have a meeting with them. This was after 11 months of residency with no compliance and I did not have any confidence that they would ever comply. Unsurprisingly, the owner was not present for my father's move out I had to call her because Bev3rly was being her rude self and would not give me the information I needed regarding my dad's medication. I am only writing this review so that anyone considering moving their loved one into (ELPCH) would know what they are getting into and be able to make an informed decision. I wish I would have taken the time to research a little more myself before moving my dad into this facility.

My family member was hospitalized for 3 days after leaving that horrible place! Doctors shook their head. It was a horrible traumatic experience for her...The owner's husband constantly flirted with one of the caregivers (caregiver's words) and the owner made derogatory comments regarding one of my family members and maliciously pit family members against one another because she was more concerned about lining her pockets (pure greed) and wanted my family member to die in that horrible place while she collected excessive rent for horrible inadequate care! The owner couldn't afford proper staff, so my family member would be left alone "all night" with the owner's husband who was constantly flirting with the young cute caregiver...After I told the owner that it was inappropriate for my family member to be left all alone overnight in that house with her husband, she become confrontational and defended her inappropriate lack of staffing! There was only one bathroom and my family member had to share a toilet and tub with a man and woman risking parasites! Extremely unprofessional place and the owner was always rude with an attitude and a big liar and always had an excuse for my family members on-going legitimate complaints! I would never recommend this horrible place to my worst enemy...We are thankful and blessed that my loved one was retrieved from this place and it's over! My family member hated this place and thank God she could speak for herself about this awful assistant care living place. God is good and we are happy it's over! This review is completely the honest truth! The defense to defamation is truth! It's better to take care of your own parents and hire your own caregiver, that way your loved one can have better care and it prevents them from going into depression and being abused. Elderly people and children are special! My love one didn't have a penny in her purse...Thank God it's over!
