I was given the run around so many times but I am loyal to a fault. My fault. I got an 18,000 btu to heat my house. I previously used wood. But retired now and on a fixed income decided that this would be better for me. This time I'm told to turn the electric heat on in my basement and the unit would work well. I haven't had my basement heat on for 38 years. I always thought that hot air rises, not that the heat would flow down stair to heat the basement, which according to him it does. He has sent his workers out to check it out in the past, but it's all my fault, not the fact that it is a dud unit. I have done everything according to the "expert" like not using my woodstove or turning down the unit which is and has been, since I got it, set at 22C and setting the electric heaters 2 degrees lower @ 20. It had issues with the "Board" which was changed out, so many problems, but to get his point across he talks over me to the point of yelling. So I will advise anyone who may want a Daikin Not to invest in one, not for Maritime winters. Even if he says he's installed thousands and nobody ever complained before me.

He wouldn't return calls once the work was done, blamed it on his "ex" playing games with his messages. I've had to have him in numerous times to fix issues with the pos unit he installed. Now that the warranty is up and we've had a couple other companies in, they've told us what a mickey mouse job he did. We have two units, one was installed so bad outside it was close to tipping over, one of the units had the lines insulated, the other did not. It goes on and on and on......

Then when…read morethe weather began to cool off we couldn't get the house to warm over 18C no matter what we did. We called and they booked us a service appointment one month later(!). The weather wasn't that cold yet so I grudgingly accepted. Then I got my power bill a few days later and it was TRIPLE what it normally had been with my old furnace in WINTER (this was for July) - over $700!. I called back and demanded someone come and take a look at it immediately. They did and discovered it was a setting that had been set wrong. They fixed it, but in spite of my claim that they should reimburse part of my power bill, my calls and emails were ignored. Fine. Fast forward to today... June of 23. Just over one year after installation (by 2 weeks). I discovered a puddle in my laundry room that originated from my heat pump in the room next to it. Called them and it will take two weeks to get someone to come look at it. AND I was told that since it's been over a year there would be a service fee. Unacceptable. I'm going to have to fix it myself. Overall, the original installation went great. They had it installed and running in one day. After that, they don't seem to care about customer service. This seems to be a company that wants to sell you a product then wash their hands of you. Stay away.
