My family and I were only supposed to stay 3 days. Well needless to say we extended our stay to a whole week.. Mrs. Jan was absolutely the most amazing woman. If we needed anything she made sure we were taken care of no matter what it was... From toilet tissue to the pool.. She and her family was absolutely amazing!!! Anything we needed they were right there!!! I seriously, can't say Enough wonderful things about this place or the people.. We will be definitely be going back to The Eagles Nest Resort, by ReelFoot Lake.. Best Vacation I have had in years! Recently, I spent an entire week fishing with my 84 year old father in June 2024. While I was there, I went ahead and reserved 2 nights for lakeside trailer 5 in October to attend Reelfoot's art and craft fair. In all the years coming to Reelfoot, I have never attended. My wife really wanted to go and we were excited to go. I thought what a better place to stay. Last evening, the owner (Jan) had her employee call me to say they were canceling my reservation. I asked why? Elizabeth-Employee said Jan told her to tell me they are completely sold out until at least end of March 2025. I reminded her I personally made this reservation in June . That week was completely open. no other reservations were in their book. Great.! I made reservations and this was they year. Ha. FYI. Jan's employees are very limited in what they are allowed to do when she is not there in person. Last evening I got the call. My reservations were canceled because they just landed a deal with a large solar panel company and they are housing their employees. She said they are canceling all reservations, not just mine. I asked Elizabeth how she would feel if she made reservations at a restaurant and was later "sorry. We canceled your reservation because they would make more money with this other group." FYI. If you had reservations in late fall 2024 and early 2025, good luck. I was told they are entirely sold out out until late spring 2025,according to Jan's staff. Jan just lost my business! Post your displeasure as well!

I have always lived near ReelFoot lake and I grew up going there on special occasions. I had never…read morebeen on the boat tours until recently however. I had the opportunity on my day off from work to come visit this park in all of its beauty. My first boat outing was with their seasonal ranger Jewell West, she was very knowledgeable and personable! She was definitely passionate about the eagles, the park, our beautiful state, and the preservation of our state's natural wonders. On our outing we saw nearly 16 eagles, plenty of osprey, and many other native species. It was a very enjoyable way to spend the morning, and a very beautiful and relaxing ride! That afternoon I came back for the history of the lake boat ride, it was shorter than the eagle spotting venture, but was also with seasonal ranger West. She painted a unique picture about the geological origins of the lake and its troubled past. It was very interesting, and I really enjoyed hearing about it while actively seeing it in person. The facilities at the state park are brand new and they are amazing. They have very enriching and hands on ways to experience this park's history and biological elements. Many of their facilities are brand new due to increased funding and repairs after a tornado a few years ago. The flora and fauna of the lake are immensely beautiful. This place is most definitely a hidden gem for west Tennessee! I look forward to coming back this July for the 250th anniversary of the USA celebration.

My friend and I booked a package deal with Boyette's Resort to stay there for 3 days and get a boat…read moreto take out each day from Bo's Landing. The first day we get there we check in, drop off our bags, and then headed to the landing to get a boat to fish. We got there at 2:30pm and the lady who greeted us asked, "You're just now getting here?" I asked if that was a problem, and she told us that they closed at 6:30pm. I thought that 4 hours was plenty of time, so I told her that we would be sure to be back by 6:30pm. We then went outside with her to get a boat. There were 2 there. One was a 3 seater, the other was a 2 seater. Neither were ready to be taken out. The 3 seater had several gallons of water in the back that had to be bailed out. I don't think they had a pump, because the lady was using a 16oz styrofoam cup to try and do the job. She walked over to the other boat and radioed someone inside asking if it was ready. I heard someone reply back that it was. She looked down into it and said out loud "This one hasn't even been cleaned out from the last trip!". Remembering the comment she made at the start about it being late in the day, I told her that we'd just come back the next day and try again, no worries. The next morning (5-26-24) there were tornado warnings/sirens from around 7am until 9am. There were heavy thunderstorms from 9am until around 1:30pm. Remembering the comment the lady made the day before about the time, I didn't think it would be a good idea to try and rush them again. I went to the resort office to ask if we could just cancel the boat from the package and bank fish, since that's what we had to do the day before on account of the boat not being ready. She said that was news to her, since in her agreement with them they should ALWAYS have a boat ready for her guests for the day, regardless of when they showed up. She said she'd call them and ask if we could get a refund for the boat and just not use it. We went bank fishing at a nearby park and I got a text at around 2pm. It was the lady from Bo's Landing asking if we were planning on taking the boat out today. "No ma'am. It's a little late in the day". I didn't hear anything back. I then went back to the office at Boyette's Resort to ask if she was able to talk to them about the refund. She said that Bo's Landing wouldn't issue us any refunds, and the lady told Boyette's Resort the only thing left to do the day before to hand the boat over to us was for her to start it up. That was not true at all. After hearing them tell Boyette's that, we decided to leave that evening after we were finished bank fishing and to not return to Bo's Landing. I am not sure what the cost of the boat was, but we were never able to take it out at all, and still had to pay for it.

The park is named for Edmund Orgill (1899-1983), a progressive Mayor of the City of Memphis in the middle of the twentieth, who fostered better race relations. The Orgill name has been a fixture on the Memphis business scene for nearly two centuries, and Orgill Brothers (Orgill Inc.) is the oldest running business. The hardware distributor was founded in 1847 when the city was less than thirty years old with a population of less than 10,000 citizens. Orgill Brothers sold about anything a pioneer family would need. Orgill Park is composed of 440 acres of rolling meadows, lakeside vistas, paths and shady spaces for all kinds of outdoor recreation enjoyment. Casper Lake is a 67-acre centerpiece for fishing and boating activities, allowing kayaks, canoes and fishing boats (non-motorized except for trolling motors). There is a fishing pier and the lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bream, sunfish, and catfish. There is a boat launch ramp with ample parking for trailers and guests. All TWRA rules (including fishing permits) apply to the use of Casper Lake. A 1.2-mile road meanders through the center of Orgill Park and around the east side of Casper Lake connecting Mudville Road (on the north side) with Kerrville-Rosemark Road (on the south side). There are acres of open spaces throughout the grounds for free play and any leisure activities, such as bicycling, jogging (a 5K Trail), walking, yoga, kite-flying, disk tossing, etc. Three covered pavilions with picnic tables are available for rental. The bathroom was updated with more modern equipment. The kitchen of course is small, but still great for preparing a meal. We enjoyed the charcoal grill and the Adirondack rocking chairs. The trails are nice. The lake is quite charming. The only downside is the amount of goose poop near the beach area and leading to the walkway across the water. It would be great to put some sort of goose deterrent or power wash the sidewalks on a regular basis in order to fix this issue. The check in process was quick and easy and the rangers were helpful. It is nice being off the grid. The Wi-Fi is very weak in the cabins, but we actually appreciated that because technology shouldn't be the focus of your weekend away from home.

Well they have a boat ramp into the water. They have a golf course..that's it..No picnic area, no bathrooms, no playgrounds..so we went on down the road to where it dead ends and loops into a parking lot area at the lake.. That's it.. I really wouldn't call it a State Park. There is some historical value here but NO signs or trails..nothing to tell you about it. I guess you have to look it up on the internet to find out any information about it. The lake was pretty though and we did stop to take a couple of photos and saw a guy in a row boat catch a fish.. Maybe there is something we missed? We will have to check it out another day..

There's also an RV area with about 30 sites, and at only $20 a day, it's a fantastic deal. It wasn't full during our stay, which made it feel peaceful and uncrowded. My husband did complain about the mosquitoes, but oddly enough, they don't bother me as long as I'm sitting next to him, he's nature's bug spray, I guess. The camp host was incredibly sweet and welcoming, and we loved the little camp cats roaming around. One of them, Shadow, was especially adorable and even let us pet him. All in all, a great campsite with a relaxed vibe and some charming furry company. Would happily stay again.
