Best parking lot near Grand Central Market!! If you are going downtown and to Grand Central Market area, then this is one of the best parki ng lots to park in. My friend and I just happen to stumble upon this parking lot when we went to Grand Central Market for some food adventures. This parking lot is a structured parking lots with lots of parking and is covered. It costs $10 for ALL day parking and even the adjacent lots which were outside parking and very tight was $12 for all day parking. There are some lots that MAY be a few bucks cheaper... but it will be further away, out in the open, and very tight space. On Saturday and Sunday, the parking here is only $5 for all day!! The Grand Central Market parking lot was super expensive at $25/day. I don't remember how many levels of parking there were, but we parked in the 5th floor and that was not even the roof yet. The space in between each parking spot and drive space in between is a good amount too. The parking structure does not feel cramped at all. Grand Central Market is just a block away!! You can also walk to The California Plaza and MOCA, but that's about 1/2 mile away and going uphill through the Angels Landing Stairway. My friend and I were able to do it... but that was quite a walk!!! Anyways, no one works here. You grab a ticket as you enter...and pay when you leave. The costs depends 9n how long you were there, but it maxes out at $10. My friend and I explored for like 6 hours and paid just $10. My mind was also at ease since the parking was covered in a structure. I would for sure park here again, especially if I am going to Grand Central Market!!! It's the best parking lot in this area!! Cheap, spacious, covered, and plenty of parking spots!! I have found my go-to parking lot in this area!!

    Nice view from the top!

This is the parking garage I park in every day for work and I've largely been happy with it. My office is nice enough to cover the cost of parking but from what I understand, the cost of a monthly pass is around $225. Otherwise the cost of parking is $3 each 15 minutes up to $11 maximum per day, or $5 flat rate after 4:00 and $7 flat rate on Saturday and Sunday. Transponders are credit card sized and work well, I've only had one or two instances where the card wouldn't read. When that happened, a quick buzz to the attendant on the intercom fixed the issue. You'll need to keep the transponder on you in order to access the garage itself when returning back to your car as well, so I wish they could be a little smaller or thinner. The garage itself is in a great location, with easy access to Grand Central Market, The Edison, Birds and the Bees and the Federal Courthouse. In fact, I much prefer this lot over the chaos that is the Grand Central Market structure. In the next year or so, the Regional Connector station will be built and this will be the closest lot to the stop. The garage can get a bit full on the lower levels, especially if you're getting in later in the morning. I've never had a problem finding a spot on the 5th or 6th floors. The bonus of parking on the top floor is the amazing view of Downtown LA you get when heading back to your car after a day of work. The garage is also pretty secure, and I have never felt unsafe even when returning back to my car at night. There are security cameras on every level. I've also left my car in the garage over the weekend without issue. I once called the security because there was a giant dead cockroach in the middle of the walkway. (Downtown LA for you) They told me that they were in a different garage and they couldn't do anything about it until the cleaning crew came in. Fair point, although I think the garage could benefit from having security guards on site, and patrolling the different levels at regular intervals. In spite of that, and because my work covers the cost, I'll continue to park here given it's location to a lot of cool things in downtown.

B2 level usually empty until late morning.

The big food festival that happens every week is what initially brought me to the Row and there is so much to discover there. I also often come here to charge my Tesla ~ charging on Level 5. The Row opened almost 10 years ago on the edge of Arts District and is spread across 30 acres. As mentioned with the charging, they do have a parking garage which is really nice when coming here. And it's a nice garage, well kept and clean, free for 2 hours with validation. You never need to worry about parking when you come here! Like much of Arts District, it's kind of industrial chic vibes. It's an open-air spot with just lovely landscaping and seating all around. There are some excellent food options like Pikunico and Hayato, as well as Go Get Em Tiger for coffee needs. Very cool stores including concept spots and trendy clothing shops. And i'm def getting my next tattoo at Nonfromseoul. Aside from the brick & mortar shops and restaurants and weekly Sunday Smorgasburg, I've been to some other smaller cultural fests & pop ups here. It's always trendy and cute at ROW DTLA!

That being said, ROW DTLA is a dreamscape when it comes to filming content and just catching city vibes in a safe space. Located near the Arts District this space of buildings used to be utilized for the textile industry. With multi floored buildings creating rows of foot traffic on the ground this space is perfect for events, pop ups, and get togethers. It's one of the reasons why Smorgasburg is held here on Sundays. It's why on any given weekend there may be an event being held, whether it be to celebrate AAPI month or the different creatives in the area. This space is filled with homegrown businesses and unique shops to visit. One of my favorite places is Hightide which is a Japanese stationary and supplies shop. The vibes are immaculate and walking in really feels like being in a store in Japan. Another popular space is Scent Bar for those who love perfume and are aromaphiles. With plenty of small curated artists being featured in this apothecary of aromas, Scent Bar is a nice stop whilst visiting the Row. If you're looking for interesting and discussion worthy furniture A+R is a must, located at one of the ends of the Row. For good coffee with artistic vibes you got to check out GGET (Go Get Em Tiger). Next to that if you're looking for stronger waters is Flask & Field with smaller batch and independent distilleries and crafters. All of this and the parking is free for the first 2 hours. In LA, that's unheard of! And it's a large parking structure with modern infrastructure. Blessed. With all this, hopefully ROW DTLA will continue to grow with more businesses and still retain its charm as time marches forward. Good for a short stay or half a day, if you're looking for things to do in LA proper, ROW DTLA is worth your drive.

The Perishing Square lot has sketchiness as well, but there are several reasons that I choose to park here if I'm going to Downtown LA in areas south of Skid Row. (In areas north of skid row, I'd park in Little Tokyo). First, if you park here on the weekends or after 5pm on weekdays, they have a flat rate for $9. During work hours on weekdays, the rate would be around $20 if you stay longer than 2 hours ($3 per 15 min with $20 max). Second, though the area is sketchy, there is security and this is a covered lot. Even the presence of security is a step up from most of the lots in the area. It may be only as good as a car alarm; however, I'll take it. Lastly, I feel that it's pretty conveniently located to key attractions in DTLA like Grand Central Market, Jewelry District, and some of the hotels in the area. In terms of safety and convenience, DTLA is one of the worst places to park in Los Angeles; however, I think this lot is one of the best of the worst. Note: entrances to this lot can be found on 5th and 6th streets between Hill and Olive. Note: If you are intending to go to Little Tokyo, Arts District, or north of skid row, look up the Aiso parking lot.

The payment process is bizarre. Sure, you take a ticket at the entry gate as usual. You don't use it to exit - see below Yes, the escalators don't work and obviously never will. They are used as staircases now, which is bad because the individual steps are much bigger, making it especially tricky to use. There are locked restrooms on P1. Just hope you can find someone to open them. You supposedly need to show that you have a parking ticket. There was a "security" woman sleeping in the office nearby You take elevators up to Pershing Square, so no problems there After returning you go to machines on P1, insert the ticket and payment card to receive another card, which you are supposed to use at the exit gates. You are reminded by many signs that there are no cashiers at the gates. Well, there was a man at the gate I approached. He kept pointing (at what?) and I was eventually told to go to another gate (no reason why), which was staffed by another non-cashier.
