I can see why this place has 5 stars! The staff is really friendly and makes sure that all of your questions and concerns are addressed before and after scans & treatments. The facility isn't super modern but it isn't super outdated either. Overall, they did a good cleaning of my teeth and explained the entire process thoroughly. *I'm very picky when it comes to dentists. After having the same dentist for YEARS, I moved out of CA to WA and had to find a new one here in WA. And I'm glad I found this place! read more

I found Parkland Pacific Dental simply by searching for a dentist close to home. I'm never particularly enthused with having to see a dentist but what I walked away from was so much more than expected! Let me set the scene: I was home sick from work because I woke up with a swollen eye that turned out to be an allergic reaction.. So there I was, not necessarily in pain but just unable to see, more or less. I was feeling a bit like "Sloth" from the Goonies.. O.o Becky took my call and was SO sweet in helping me figure out which dental insurance I have and she assured me that regardless of my dental situation (it needs work, y'all!) they're happy to take care of me without judgement. So I caught a ride and when I arrived Lisa was warm and welcoming at check in (I addressed my crazy eye like a crazy person and she was still so sweet to me, lol) and super thorough after my appointment in getting me a cost breakdown for what's to come. Colette was the dental assistant that did my X-rays and she was super patient with my terrible gag reflex. I also explained my eye situation to her and she was sweet about it as well (it's the elephant in the room, you know?!) She was so kind and gentle with me and she explained every step along the way. Prior to grabbing Dr. Sjulson she went over in detail about the practice. It's owned and operated by he and his wife and each do everything but have specialties in some things and she explained those in detail as well. She also was kind enough to explain to Dr. Sjulson in private why my eye was insane.. Thank goodness for her sweet self! Dr. Sjulson was so SO kind! He was very open about what it would take to get my mouth in satisfactory condition and he assured me it wasn't unmanageable (it SERIOUSLY needs work, y'all!) He answered all of my questions and concerns about the procedures I'd be having, the fillings I'll need, and the right path for anesthesia as well as billing questions. He, too, explained about his practice and the specialties each he and his wife have. I definitely didn't feel judged for my unfortunate eye situation OR my crazy dental situation, I just felt like he cared enough to assure me all would work out. I then met his wife whose name escapes me at the moment but she greeted me warmly and she was enthusiastic about the extraction she'll be doing on one of my teeth that has fish hook roots. Her visit was quick but thorough, and she made me feel comfortable too. Now that I've written a book, in short I'd just like to say that if you're looking for a wonderful experience in a field where all things are terrifying Parkland Pacific Dental is where you should go! I've been going to this location since I was a child. I appreciate the smooth transition and the willingness both dentists and their staff have made to make me feel right at home... all over again! It's a small community of shared talents and collaboration and I love knowing that my dental care is taken cared of by a team of people who care as much as I do. No matter who is taking care of me, I know that I am in good hands. With a modern twist and upgrade in technology, the feeling of excitement in the room to provide the best dental care imaginable is incredible. I have had two trips to this dentist. The first was about four years ago, where I had to have a root canal and a crown. A dentist I went to previously had given me a quote, and I decided to shop around. When I called Parkland Pacific, their quote was more than $200 less, PLUS they have same-day, made in the office crowns, so I wouldn't have to wait for my crown. After I made the appointment with Parkland Pacific, I called the other office to cancel the appointment I'd made with them. They offered to match the price, but admitted they don't make their own crowns. Why would I want to wait two weeks for a crown when I could get it the same day? They did a fabulous job. Well, last week,it chipped. I didn't have pain or anything, but I was scared I would. I went in and they couldn't see me that day, and I panicked, worrying I would develop a serious problem. But after leaving, I knew that since I got my crown there, I should go back there when they could see me, instead of trying to find someone to see me that day. They saw me today and I was so happy to learn I wouldn't need it replaced; it could just be smoothed out. I can't say enough about the staff-they really are the nicest, friendliest people, from the back office to the front office staff. The dentists are both very caring and skilled-I had seen DR. Justin Sjulson the first time and he was very nice and gentle. Today, I saw his wife, Dr. Jennifer Idziorek, and she is so fantastic. I have to say, they really showed the strength of their professional ethics today. They could have told me I needed a replacement. I don't have dental insurance so it would have been a real hardship for me. This is the first dental clinic that I've ever developed complete confidence in. Awesome dental office. Super nice and friendly staff. First visit I got 18 X-rays which the dentist came in and went over every one of them with you thinking it was going to take long but it didn't she was very quick but discussed the importance of everything she found on them. Next got to see a hygienist to look over my gums and determine what would be the best cleaning for me. about two weeks later had my cleaning and some fillings done was in and out and the wait for any appointment was no longer than 5 minutes. If your looking for a new dentist this is the one I'd recommend and I'll be going there for years to come myself. read more
