After taking my 5 children to this dentist (kids' ages 2-11) for a routine dental cleaning without any concerns ( last time we saw a dentist was 8 months prior), I left with an impression that 1. unnecessary x rays are taken, without parental consent Specifically, they took my kids in the back to take x rays, and apparently took a full set of bitewing x rays as well as a panoramic x ray, without my concert to the panoramic x rays. The panoramic x-rays were taken without my consent, before cleaning was done and before the doctor even saw my kids to determine if it was medically necessary. Furthermore, panoramic xrays are generally taken for orthodontics purposes, to determine braces necessity, and this doctor is not an ortho. The doctor wanted to take x rays on my two year old, but I asked not to, as I was concerned with the child's being able to handle that. 2. I had an impression that unnecessary / expensive treatments were suggested and pushed hard. Specifically, crowns instead of just fillings on baby teeth that would last 2 years max, (per Dr. Bond.) I am very surprised that within 8 months my kids developed all these new big bad cavities, some spanning the whole tooth and requiring crowns. After I took my kids to a different dentist - no crowns were recommended at all. 3. When I asked the front desk why I was not made aware that panoramic x rays would be done on my kids, ( as these are covered by insurance only every 5 years) I was told that that was the general procedure. They were x-raying kids, taking full sets of x rays plus panoramic x ray, before even seeing my kids or determining medical and dental necessity. Apart from this practice which seems like just milking the insurance, I am concerned about radiation exposure on small kids. Furthermore, Dr. Bond brought up to me that I expressed concerns at the front desk, and in my conversation with her about it, became very defensive, upset, and eventually stormed out. This conversation happened as she was examining my 5 yo, her last patent. Her attitude and demeanor totally changed towards him; he wanted to spit out and she would not even offer a cup for him, or a suction tube. She just ignored his requests to spit out (he did not like the unpleasant taste of fluoride treatment.) She clearly was very upset by my questioning why I was not made aware and not given a chance to consent or refuse the panoramic x rays. I was also taken aback by her storming out in frustration. In my opinion - unless there were indicators and dental concerns specifically pointing towards the necessity to take this additional panoramic x ray (the office already took full set of regular x rays on all the children minus the 2 yo) - this x ray should not have been taken routinely, without my agreeing to it or even knowing about it. Insurance covers this type of x ray once every 5 years for a reason, and not being given any dental necessity to take it now - I would have opted out, to be able to take it later, when there would be a compelling necessity. The next day we were discharged as patients. I definitely will not be returning to this office. read more

Extremely impressed with Dr. Bond and her staff! We where referred to Dr. Bond and travel about 45 minutes to visit this office. It is 100% worth it! Dr. Bond is very good at making the child and the parent comfortable no matter the situation. My son was very concerned as he needed a lot of work. Dr. Bond was calm and took her time when speaking with my son and moved very quickly to complete the procedure to ensure he was not spending unnecessary time in the chair. I have fond it difficult to find a pediatric dentist that I am confident and comfortable with. We have three children ranging in age from 5-14...we have had many years of mediocre peds dentists. Parkland Pediatric Dentistry is AMAZING! From the moment we walked in the door I felt at ease bringing my two year old to his first dental appointment. Checking in was a breeze in this state of the art office, not to mention the very welcoming receptionist. He was then greeted by Meagan, she was patient as she settled him in and explained what was going to happen. He actually let her clean his teeth with very little squirming (the flat screen TVs on the ceiling also helped). Dr. Bond was the icing on the cake! I visited the Parkland Pediatric Dentistry Office recently. The doctor diagnosed 2 sitting of cavity filling with a crown. I called them to treat the hurting side first and they started "patient comforting" BS and dint agreed to treat the hurting side first. My question is what if my daughter only had a cavity filling on the hurting side? Would they not treat it? And then on the day of the appointment, I saw their treatment plan and wanted to eliminate the tooth gaping procedure (cost 220$) to prevent future cavities. They wouldn't agree and the doctor got offended and asked me to get a second opinion saying "She doesn't negotiate". It is a shame how this has become a money-making business and not about patients' comfort. Would never recommend them. read more

A very friendly and welcoming pediatric dentist. This review is mainly for an information visit so I will keep one star out for when we finally have an official visit. But, I am excited to share that the trip was very informative - exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend anyone with a young toddler who wonders about their oral hygiene to visit Dr. Bond to get some information on preparing their child for their first visit. Dr. Bond was very patient in answering all my questions and her staffs were helpful to provide references when I wasn't sure about something. Both Dr. Bond and her staffs were all very child friendly and helpful to keep an eye on my daughter while I talked to Dr. Bond. For the toddler: Definitely a very welcoming place and child friendly. I sure hope I can get my daughter well-prepared for her first trip. I was referred a year and half ago to Parkland Pediatric Dentistry and I have nothing but good to say. I love taking my kids there and they love going there too. we took our 5 and 2 year olds for a check up and my 7 month old tagged along for the ride. Dr. Bond and her staff were amazing with all of our girls. My five year old asked when she could go back again, my two year old was apprehensive about the actual cleaning but left with a smile and of course a toothbrush. We unexpectedly had to bring the baby back to see Dr. Bond but she addressed my concern and put me at ease. Equipment was very state of the art, and made the visit as comfortable as it can be for a 7 year old, and for parents (check in is a dream on the tablets). Let me begin by saying that this has to be one of the nicest pediatric dental offices I have ever been to. Not only was I extremely impressed by the office itself but the staff really goes out of their way to make the kids feel welcomed, important, and relaxed. Dr. Bond is the best Pediatric Dentist around town. When I learned my 4 yr old daughter had a mouth full of cavaties back in July, I went to 3 other Dentists in Boca after finding Dr. Bond. 1 Dentist wanted to do laser fillings, and another Dentist wanted her to go to W. Boca Hospital for up to 5 silver crowns and be sedated in the hospital. I wasn't comfortable with either of those choices. The 3rd Dentist was good, but did not take our insurance. After meeting Dr. Bond for the consultation, I really took a liking to her right away because she made my daughter very comfortable, along w her amazing staff, including Alyssa her assistant who is so sweet and kid friendly as well. Dr. Bond is a Mom for one, who takes a conservative approach. She let's the parent be in the room during treatment and she takes her time explaining how, what, etc. in such a caring way to the parent and also to the child.
