My cousin knows the owner so our family was fortunate to host a baby shower here on a Sunday, when they are closed. They made the cookies, macaroons, both cakes that were served and mini pumpkin pies that were given as gifts for the guests. They also opened to enable us to buy goodies and I fell in love with the brown butter bourbon cookies!! They were 3 for $5 and I would have bought the 3 bags that were in the case, but a woman in front of me bought 2 bags so I was left with one. They have mini pies for $5 and while it was hard to decide (assorted cheesecakes, key lime pie, sweet potato pie, etc.); I bought a mini peach cobbler for hubby. They are the perfect serving size and he loved it! Both of the cakes they had at the shower (a chocolate and a yellow rainbow) were moist and delicious; the only downside is that we live so far away! But if we're ever in this area we will remember Park's Pastries for sure. read more

I wanted to like it. I really did. Local, minority owned, female owned. But sadly it's not good. I've tried several items on 3 different visits hoping for better but it wasn't...tasteless macarons and not the right texture, cupcakes priced like a downtown bakery but unfilled and small and dry and grainy, vegan pastries that left a poor taste in the mouth and also grainy. I believe they're moving to a new spot which will help the ambiance hopefully as the old spot was just too big. The owner is polite but the other staff was hit or miss. I really do hope they get it worked out. It's a great idea, but execution hasn't been good. read more

Cute bakery in downtown Homewood. Delicious treats. We tried both the peach cobbler and three of their cookies. Pricing is on a digital screen above the front counter but you can't see it when coming in the side door. This is what I remember.. Cookies 3 for $5 Cupcakes $3 Mini loaf cakes $5 Mini cheesecake and cobblers $7 Macaroons 3 for $7 Coffee $1 Customer service wasn't the best so I took away a star. We weren't greeted when we entered and had to speak first. She didn't really say anything, give any suggestions or interact at all. I couldn't find anything to complain about even if I wanted to. The pastries were delicious and the ladies behind the counter were very nice. I came about an hour and a half before closing so they were out of one item that I wanted to try but there were plenty of other things that caught my eye. I had the red velvet cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, key lime pie, strawberry butter cookies and regular butter cookies. I tasted a bite of everything and the cheesecake was by far the best I have ever tasted. My husband cannot stop talking about the key lime pie. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the strawberry butter cookie. I can't wait until my sugar rush wears off so I can go back next week! read more

Baaabby. Was on a let's "try a new business today" kick and randomly picked this bakery on google. Went in this very clean, quaint establishment and was greeted immediately upon entering. Was told about the specials and made my decision. Ordered a strawberry crunch cheesecake. Mannnnnnn that mf was good. Please visit them. Awesome bakery! We have picked up quite a few things at this point: cupcakes, cake, pies, cookies. All have been DELICIOUS. I love that they use fresh and seasonal ingredients. It's really reasonably priced and everyone who works there has always been great as well. I happened to see my neighbor as we were walking in a few days ago, and later that day we spent a few minutes raving about how great this place is. We stopped by Parks Pastries a couple of days ago for the first time. Everything we ordered was awesome! The cupcakes- Boston Cream, Red Velvet, and Sweet Potato were the perfect size and packed with flavor. We also tried the Carrot Loaf Cake and the Zucchini Loaf Cake. I would highly recommend both. We will definitely be back and I am looking forward to trying the rest of the loaf cake flavors and the cookies. read more

I visited this new black owned bakery last week and was pleasantly surprised see a new business opening up in our community. I purchased an individual plain cheesecake that was ABSOLUTELY to die for. Unfortunately they didn't have much on the side of cakes or pies available. Hopefully it was because people are just buying it the delicious pastries.
