I wanted to try this bakery because I drive pass it very often. Staff was very nice and accommodating. They were able to describe everything they offered when I asked about the selection. I ordered the caramel biscoff cheesecake. The cheesecake was delicious. Some of the best cheesecake I've ever tasted. It was creamy and not too sweet. This was my first time trying The Drip. My aunt told me about the lunchroom cookies which are Chicago public school staple that kids would get at lunch. I've never heard of that before but was super excited to try it. I tried the original, strawberry, cookies and cream and the pecan. I would say all of them tasted very good, they reminded me of flavors of shortbread cookies but not as dense. The flavor was similar yet the texture felt lighter. Very welcoming. The young man answered my questions with a smile. I bought some of the items by his favorites. I tried the strawberry butter cookies, The caramel apple crunch pound cake, the strawberry crumble cheesecake, and the cookie butter cheesecake. I didn't like the cookies. Wasn't my thang. Tasted a little odd to me. The pound cake was really moist only wish it had just a little more icing on it. The 2 cheesecakes though, was absolutely delicious. I decided to try a new bakery out and I'm glad I did ! I ordered a strawberry shortcake drip cake and also ordered the strawberry shortcake cheesecake. Omg when I say the cheesecake was the best I've EVER had, it was The Best I've Ever Had. The strawberry shortcake drip cake was amazingly delicious too. One of my colleagues stopped by this bakery and bought the peanut butter and original lunchroom butter cookies for the team. I haven't tried the butter cookies yet, but the peanut butter cookie is delicious! My colleague mentioned that she was glad that she arrived when she did because the cookies sold out quickly. On August 6 my sister and I wen t to Drip Bakery to see if we could get tasting for cake for my birthday on August 23rd. We were told no they do that and that we would have to ge cupcake samples they had in window display. I didn't purchased them however my sis purchased a german chocolate pound cake,(delicious). The service sucked because the staff was not knowledgeable and it was frustrating trying to place an order. we were told to come back to speak with owner. came back 11th of August talked with owner and told him about the experience in which he Cedrick(owner) apologized . Anyway I talked with him about my birthday party date and cake ideas and that all he needed was a week prior to make cake. He told me to get the number of his board and call him, which, i did. He called back and sent pictures ideas and said to look on line for other ideas. I got back with him the 14th so excited. Sent text, called, sent Pics, Left message and went to his business NOTHING, I called, texted, left message AGAIN. A little concerned but had hope. Fast forrward to Monday prior to party time. Again , went to business, explain to his employees, they called while I was there and left messages NOTHING !! now Im nervous. I was told that he-owner( who is the baker) has a full-time job plus running this business soooo. Tuesday NOTHING, Wednesday I called, left message, went to the bakery wating, His staff called again NOTHING. I forgot to mention - the phone number of Ced business go straight to his personal phone not the bakery, so they can't get outside phone calls??? Back to the story, Now Im upset, disappointed because Im trying to give this Black owner Business my business and his cakes are beautiful and delicious. I broke down and went to Mariano's who saved my birthday ( last Minute). On Thurday 21 around 7:00 p.m. I get a text from CED to call ASAP!!! I was bumfuzzled??? The nerve. I DID NOT RETURN TEXT...Undeserving . * I did leave him a voicemail stating my concerns with him not getting back to me and how unprofessional. It saddens me with the experience. My husband follows this bakery on social media. When he saw those strawberry butter cookies, he knew he had to get here immediately, and im happy he did. We purchased the butter cookies, banana pudding, oreo cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, blueberry lemon cheesecake, and banana pudding cheesecake. Every item was delicious. This place is AMAZING! I'm almost ashamed at how many slices of cheesecakes I've had from this man. And the chocolate chip cookies!!!! He puts that damn Brown Sugar to shame! I've been hunting for a dessert spot for the times I'm not in the mood to make any and let's just say I've found heaven. The lemon blueberry cheesecake is my absolute fave with the turtle being a close second. Out of all the ones I've tried my least fave was the peach cobbler. But it was also yummy.
