Much better than years ago when it was a dilapidated wood structure filled with urine. Although it would be nice if there were still a Post Office there. The tunnel under the station always floods when it rains. The ticket office is barely open. Only in the morning. The digital signs are always incorrect. Cheap parking is limited, but there is ample parking in the attached Radnor Township lot. There are only 6 spots, all for monthly pass holders, on the inbound side. There are about 100 $1 spots on the outbound side, which is accessible from Matsonford Road. Look for the entrance to Archbishop Carroll.

Transferring to the Blue Line at 69th St. Station is easy and rarely a wait. Using the R100 Radnor Station and the High Speed Line shaves nearly 20-25 minutes off the trip down into Philly. And the parking, albeit limited, is free! However there is no ticket booth/kiosk, so bring correct change ($3.50 peak fare with transfer to downtown Philly). Make sure you ask for the transfer when paying the fare!

But at least once or twice a month, maybe if there's been train delays or especially bad weather, you might find yourself having to stand. Sometimes there is a staff member near the ticket gates yelling out when the next train is coming, which is helpful. Sometimes it smells a bit pissy near the entrances. The downside is that if it rains, the 12th St. south entrance floods and unless you are wearing waterproof shoes, it's really not accessible. For up to 2 days! The staff really should do something about that. Otherwise you have to cross the street to access PATCO.

I was taking PATCO alone for the second time ever and meeting a friend nearby. I was so nervous that I somehow bypassed the 13th Street exit and kept walking. Hardly anyone was around but eventually I emerged at 15th Street...and had to run back a few blocks to meet my friend. It never occurred to me to turn back around. Times have changed and over the years I've used PATCO quite a bit. No matter, I still often double-check my steps when I leave this specific platform, which is probably silly and paranoid at this point. This is the second to last stop westbound, and it's conveniently situated in Washington Square West. You can also link up to the BSL here. I recommend having a Freedom Card if you frequent the city at all. I tend to see long lines purchasing tickets at the kiosks...but especially at this station.

They recommended going a little bit further on to the Ferry Station spot. Yes, it is Camden and a little scary if you don't know where you are going, but the parking lots at this station are huge and you should have no problem finding a spot after 8:00 AM. I believe the RT fare drops slightly compared to Collingswood or earlier stops due to its location.

It's kind of desolate with a long overpass connecting the two sides. With the current construction it was very hard to tell how to get from one side to the other because the usual steps were gone. In its place are a winding tower of scaffolding steps. Scary. I parked on the side my train coming back would leave me so I wouldn't have to scale that thing at night. On the plus side the station now has a ticket kiosk.
