Dropped two dresses off to be corrected from another seamstress. I asked for the v on the dresses to be straightened. Went to pick them up today - was charged 47.00 for alterations prior to dresses being shown to me. I inquired about the ribbon being added to the v on both of the dresses (which I didn't ask for) 1) doesn't match the dresses 2) the v previously had a clean edge not ribbon so why would you ad it. I was told I had to wait for the manager to come to the store to talk to me. I waited in the car. When I went back in and told her I was unhappy with the alterations & wanted my money back she told me she was not refunding my money and threatened to call the cops on me? She proceeded to continue in a verbal argument with me - even in front of another Customer who Was picking up shirts. I chose to step aside & allow her to wait on him. She proceeded to ask me if I Was ready to shut up and allow her to talk? First & foremost - who does this in a management position?? What company would allow someone to interact with customers with such a horrible attitude & lack of professionalism. I decided to leave the store with my dresses & not continue this conversation with this unprofessional individual. She proceeds to yell 'don't get It an accident on your way home'? I thought I didn't hear right at first .... Who says this to a Customer? Who says something so terrible to anyone period? Why would someone representing a business even allow something like that to cross their lips - there was no need for It. It was rude & extremely unprofessional. You don't wish an accident on anyone - and basically that's what she was saying when she passed that comment. In the business world - you do what you can to please the customer and don't argue with them. This manager was extremely rude & if I was the business owner she'd not be representing my company - She would be out of a job! Reputation is everything - clearly this woman doesn't understand how her actions impact a business...and how word of mouth impacts a business. Dress was placed on a red background to show the 50 cent roll of Michaels ribbon used as edging on the neckline - this type of ribbon isn't even made for clothing? The proper thing to do would have been return my money & not argue with the customer in your place of business. Actions like this speak volumes for the way a business is run. I was a weekly customer at Parkway Cleaners in Newark, Delaware for 10 years. Initially I would drop by and pick up at their former location in Suburban Sq. Later they transitioned to free delivery. Recently I moved to the midwest. In my struggles to find a reliable, customer oriented dry cleaner with delivery services (I am on day 7 chasing after 5 shirts!!), I remembered the exceptional service I received for years from Parkway. The delivery was such a terrific service-- it happened seamlessly (pun intended). All I had to do was put my dry cleaning in front of my door, and I came home to my cleaned clothes hanging on the door. Plus, the main delivery guy (Don- I think one of the owners) was so accommodating if anything popped up- such as a need for a special pick up, etc. He would even respond to emails within hours, if not immediately! I fully recommend Parkway Cleaners. I miss a lot of things about leaving Delaware after 40 years there-- and one of the major things was the ease and professionalism of the service from Parkway. I recently returned from Florida stay at which time I purchased two pair of men's cargo pants at an outlet mall. In the store the fit was a bit loose in the waist I figured ok, allowing for shrinkage. Well they didn't, when I measured the waist it was 40", the tag stated they were 36". I took these pants to Parkway Cleaners in Proples Plaza to be altered. They estimated a one week turnaround, I got them back in four days. As for the alteration, you can not tell where the work was done. The back seam was taken in stitching and finish was absolutely perfect as was the fit. The absolute worst experience at a dryer cleaners I've ever had. I brought 2 pair of dress pants there to be hemmed. I had found this dry cleaners online and it's close to our home so I thought I'd give them a try. I should of seen the red flags when the owner told me to try my pants on in a nasty and dirty bathroom! However I did as she asked so she pinned my pants and said they'd be fine to wear with heels or whatever shoes since I was in my bare feet. Okay great I thought but when I picked them up they were too short. The owner was rude and disrespectful when I called about them. She blamed me for the mistake as if I had hemmed them myself. Finally she agreed to correct the length but was nasty about it. She told me that pants would be ready in a week but when I came in I was told no they weren't ready. Alright fine I said and left. Today I came back 2 weeks later to pick them up. They were ready....yay. However my joy turned into the owner calling me a liar because she thought I had them shortened by another dry cleaner! I said no I did not and she called me a liar and said I don't believe you. Can you believe the nerve! How dare this rude as hell person who shouldn't even have a business license say that! This places sucks! I will never go there again and I'd suggest you don't either unless you like being disrespected and treated like your business is not worth their time.
