During our very terse conversation, Jared Olsen tried to insinuate I was lying about my assets because at first, the amounts I gave included both dollar and cents, and later towards the end, I gave only dollar amounts, which I am pretty sure is ok. Even the IRS allows rounding up or down to the nearest dollar. He was just nitpicking and finding fault because he had some kind of an issue. Jared said he wanted $2,500 to create a simple will for me. Also, when I later brought in a deed that I forgot to bring to the first consultation, he told me that it would cost me an extra $200. Then, his receptionist snidely demanded immediate payment of the $200 when I left, like she was so happy to be price-gouging me. Because my initial interactions with Jared, his receptionist, and paralegal created no goodwill or trust between us, I contacted Jared shortly thereafter to let them know I no longer wanted his services and to request a refund. He wanted to know why, what happened, and grossly over-exaggerated the value of his will. He was trying to gaslight my experience there, which he and his office perpetuated. He did refund me, at least, and destroyed my will. What a pack of wolves.

I so appreciated their care and concern, however, it was hard due to my extreme pain (pain medications administered were not sufficient), it was hard to appreciate the visits. At one point with 4-5 visitors in the room, struggling emotionally and to track conversations; Mr. Melchior and his wife (who I'd known personally) burst into the room requiring all attention wanting to know "How was I supposed to find out about this?". I didn't respond, and was then asked "Who was at fault?". The circumstances of the accident were extenuating. I'm not sure how I communicated that to him, however, as abruptly as he burst into the room, he and his wife left. I'd heard of "ambulance chasers", however, knowing him personally and how he represented himself morally and ethically, I wouldn't have expected him to utilize this type of behavior to obtain a client for his business. I am so disappointed in the "man" I thought I had known. A year after the accident, I'm finally beginning to function fully and with relatively little pain.
