Over the past 10 years I have used this vendor for annual parties in my home. I am quite surprised at the decline in service this year. Aren't small business grateful to still be in business following the pandemic? Clearly not Partopia. The older woman who I believe is the owner was rude from point of entry. She couldn't even reciprocate a "Hello" upon ny arrival to the location. Her responses on inquiries were cold, with an angry demeanor. Partopia could not provide a small delivery to my home 1.5 miles away and charged an exuberant fee ($300) as security for chairs and a tent rental. Upon returning the items I was told the security would not be returned for 3-5 business days. Very disappointed and needles to say, I would not recommend nor will I be using this business in the near future. Gratitude is everything and Partopia fails to be gracious or grateful to their customers. read more

After seeing the great reviews about Partopia I decided to use them for a small event I was hosting at my job. They were also reasonably inexpensive for the amount of chairs I was renting and the amount of time I needed them for. On the day of picking up the chairs, for starters both outside and inside, this place is not appealing whatsoever. When you first walk in, you don't know if you should go up the rinky dink stairs or go through the first door that you see. There were two receptionist at the front desk, both looked bored and uninterested. The chairs looked just the like place, ran down. We had black folding chairs, some were rusting and had difficulty either unfolding or folding back together. The plastic appeared to be peeling on some of the chairs as well. Clearly I will not rent from Partopia again. They should really look into upgrading their chair inventory. read more

I have mixed feelings about Partopia. I originally called them to inquire about a white on white throne chair I fell in love with for my girlfriends baby shower. I found the rental place through Yelp, which linked to their website, (not much to be desired) so I called to inquire about additional items that might not be on the site. The woman I spoke with informed me all the pieces they have are on the site but if I wanted I could always visit the showroom (a house in the Bronx). Now I reside in Brooklyn and work in Lower Manhattan, so getting to the other side of Gun Hill in the Bronx near Co-op city is no easy task, but I really liked their throne chairs and there were two available (one for my girlfriend and her husband) plus it was priced well in comparison to Brooklyn, $340 vs $600. Don't you know when I get all the way uptown after speaking to this woman for two days in a row, she told me the chairs I wanted had been rented, and not within the last 48 hours, they'd be rented a while back and for some reason she hadn't realized. So of course I'm upset and don't want the hour plus trip after work to be wasted so I inquire about any other chairs they may have that are similar. I was told no, but there was a white and gold chair that was put on hold sometime ago, if the person no longer needed the chair I could rent it. I was called a few days later and was told the gold and white chair was available, the young lady renting the chair cancelled her rsvp. So I book the chair, pay for it in full, and I'm sent a confirmation email for a paid invoice. I told the young ladies helping to throw the shower about the chair and cc one of the planners on an email thanking Partopia since I won't be attending the shower. My hubby planned a surprise vacation, the date of the shower was moved and fell on the same weekend. While I'm pre-boarding on a flight going west, I receive an email stating I have an overdue invoice for $70....? So I pay for wifi once I'm on the plane....ugh... because I'm pissed and call the business a few times to verify the email, no answer. I didn't hear anything from the group of girls planning the shower so I assume they're going to charge my card that's on file for the added items on the invoice. I pretty much write a disgruntled email saying I'm going to put in a claim with my bank for the entire invoice should payment go through for the items I didn't order. Long story short I contact two girls from the shower confirming the items on the invoice to which they said, yes they ordered them and were going to pay for the items separately the day of. So as a business owner or person in operations my question is, wouldn't it make sense to start an entirely new invoice because a totally different person did the ordering?? What if the girls who ordered the items didn't remember to pay? Or didn't need the things they ordered anymore and decide at the last moment they weren't going to pay, guess whose not footing the bill? ME. I didn't receive an email, a phone call, nothing telling me about the updated order or apologizing for the confusion. This is what happens when you try to support smaller businesses, there's definitely an element of professionalism that is lacking on the customer service end. read more

Horrible service! I ordered chairs with paid delivery and pickup. They were over 2 hours late to deliver and over 2 hours late for pickup. Customer service was very rude! This is the first and last time I use this company for any party service. I guess you get what you pay for. So disappointing! read more
