Beware of going to the Wappingers Falls Party City location…read more I recently visited the WF's Party City location in June 2021 with my teenager 17yr old daughter, the day before my daughters High School Prom to look for items for my daughters HS Prom & Grad and we were targeted, discriminated against and a false allegation was made against us. Besides prior to the false allegation and the Police being called we interacted with employees which seemed annoyed for us asking for assistance and also being told that they don't carry products which I knew they carried and later was amazed to have found on my own by browsing. Then the POLICE were called and lied to saying HISPANIC female & BLACK female were seen stealing and stuffing items in personal and shopping bags. This was far from the truth and should not be easily dismissed. Employees should be held accountable for their LIES and DISCRIMINATION. Calling the Police should be taken seriously and NOT be used for False Allegations or Personal Discriminations against other people!!! Party City employees lied first by telling the Police on the phone that we(my daughter & I) were stealing and they had witnessed it, then after the Police arrived and asked the Party City employees questions, Party City employees story changed to "they look suspicious". There was nothing to celebrate as this Brought my 17yr old daughter to tears and the end result was Party City employees making us "the customers" feel as though we did something wrong just for shopping and it was stated several times regardless that "we look suspicious". We were forced to shop elsewhere. A truly disgusting shopping experience at WF's Party City which was traumatic and triggered Anxiety, PTSD and also threatened the privacy of a minor, my privacy as well as the privacy of my other children by having a false accusation report of shoplifting written up with our personal information which is a threat to our character, our lives and our safety. Even though the Police investigation determined No Crime Was Committed a report still was written up that was unnecessary, a waste of Police time and jeopardizes other peoples lives. Beware of employee Jen who seemed to have orchestrated the whole ordeal, and encouraged and convinced other employees to partake in the discrimination, and employee Rachel who spread hearsay from Jen to the Police and as well as nodded her head whenever Jen spoke. Party City is supposed to be a store you shop at when celebrating special occasions and instead the Wappingers Falls location was not celebrating anything but hate & discrimination. Thankfully the WF's Police were very calm and quickly sifted through the lies of Party City employees but still this type of experience should Not have happened at all and is very concerning.

We used durants for our wedding this weekend. About a month before the day, my husband and I went…read morein person to durants to confirm that we wanted tent walls added, as it would be cold in the evenings outside in October. Once arriving for wedding setup, we noticed that the walls were not included. We called the SAME lady (Michele) that we met in person, and she took NO accountability, claiming that we never asked for the walls and that she had no idea what we were talking about! So rude, and honestly so disappointing on their part. Rentals were also dirty and cheap! It looked like our white chairs we rented were used about 100 times and were NEVER cleaned. Dirt, mud, stains, tape on chairs, scratch marks. Some chairs were unusable, as they were so gross! Same with the tent walls! When they did arrive, they arrived dirty and were ZIP TIED to the tent! So ghetto. They had originally told us the walls could be raised and lowered on the tent walls. But the guy delivering the walls said that Michelle in the store LIED to us, and that they had to be zip tied to stay down. When we met in person at durants, we also planned to have everything delivered on friday before the wedding on saturday. We get a call the week of the wedding saying that they are dropping the rentals off on wednesday. We both worked wednesday and could not take off to be present when the rentals were dropped off. when calling Michele on the phone, she said we never settled on friday drop off (which we absolutely did).
