I wanted to purchase a balloon and have them put helium in it. I took the balloon I wanted and waited in line. There was one person in front of me. Then someone called on the phone and instead of taking the customer that was in line waiting for them, they answered the phone and proceeded to answer a bunch of questions. Finally, about 5 minutes later they were done. I told them I wanted to purchase the balloon and get it blown up. They told me they were behind and had a lot of balloons to fill still. Fine, I just wanted to get my order in as it shouldn't take but a few minutes. The first thing they wanted was my email address. I told them I didn't want to give it to them. Yeah, I'm not signing up to get spammed. They told me they couldn't proceed without my email address. I said I just wanted to buy my balloon and get it blown up. They said they couldn't do it without my email address. Ridiculous! I gave them back the balloon and just walked out of there. Never going to do business there again. read more

I will never shop here again. It seems that this company doesn't know how to handle their orders. They overpromise and underdeliver sadly. Normally I would let this go, but I don't want to you to waste your time money or energy at this place. This is the second time they really messed up our order. I ordered balloons for my daughter's birthday a week in advance, I was told that the balloons would be ready the day of the party at noon. I had a confirmation for 9 am that day, but still waited until noon and the party was at 2. I got there to pick up the balloons, it was a mad house, my order was not ready, I tried to talk to someone, I got an attitude just trying to figure out what was going on, they didn't know what was happening, I waited in line where people were checking out and the man that went to serve me was a manager and he was condescending, and talked to me like I was a moron inconveniencing him. I paid over $100, placed my order a week in advance and just wanted to know where my order was. Unfortunately they refused to refund me, or help me in anyway. My daughter's eighth birthday party had no balloons. Thank God I didn't use them for my mom's memorial service. Sadly Party city just can't come through and can't be relied upon for events. I just unsubscribed to their emails. I was so excited too because they just rebranded, and this used to be my favorite place, but if their rebrand is just broken promises and stealing money I am more than happy to spend my money elsewhere. The store manager, Marian was cool calm and collected New Year's Eve when the place was busy as could be and people were losing their patience over balloons. I preordered but understandably they ran out of a NY balloon and she offered a suitable replacement. Her and her staff were really working quickly so I was fine waiting because I could see they were all super busy. So first thing that I hate about this place is how no matter if you're getting a ballon or not you have to checkout your items at the balloon checkout. it's unorganized and customers don't know where to stand when the line it getting too long because it's such a small space. I DIDNT know this as I'm new to the area, so I was standing at the checkout waiting for a cashier and I see the balloon checkout is getting pretty crowded and that's when the cashier there calls in the radio for help. This woman with pink hair comes and calls someone to the actual checkout at the front of the store and sees me waiting in line, she tells me I have to wait in line at the balloon area. Whatever fine, I went over there and I'm waiting, the cashier there seems brand new as she was slower. More customers come and they see the cashier at the front of the store and they go to the checkout lane at the front of the store and this woman didn't bother telling them the same thing she told me! Pink hair lady checks out 4 customers and I'm still waiting like an idiot for a good 15 minutes because the cashier at the balloon area seems confused with whatever she was doing at the register. I just think if you're going to tell me the line is all the way over there, you should tell that to ALL THE OTHER CUSTOMERS COMING TO CHECK OUT IN THE FRONT OF THE STORE. My husband ordered online a Mandalorian costume from this location. It was opened, as many of them are, but he brought it home. Upon trying it on, he discovered there was no mask. The Mandalorian helmut is CRUCIAL because that's what makes it Mandalorian. That night, he called the location to say there was no mask, and so they assured him they had masks and to come back tomorrow. He called the next day before he left for his lunch break, and again he was assured that they had the mask. So, he spent his lunch break at the store, where - you guessed it - there were no Mandalorian masks and they were out of stock of that costume as well. The employees lied to us twice. They have ruined our Halloween, our first with our 8 month baby who is going as The Child (Baby Yoda). read more

I like the store - it's well stocked & reasonably priced - always has what I need on hand as I visit every few months for birthday balloons, bags & such & I have for about 10 years now. Unfortunately, the staff leaves much to be desired. Last week, I stopped in on my way to celebrate my grandmother's 78th bday & as soon as I opened the door, I heard what initially sounded like a loud half-crying/half-cursing rant coming from the register area. This store is never crowded & given the pitch, I assumed it was one of the teen employees. Plus, I could hear the other girls (always the same girls) trying to quiet the noise by shushing the girl in question. As I decided on a few balloons & made my way to the other side, one of the girls asked if I needed help with something in a tone that indicated my presence was somehow bothersome to their teenage breakdown. I half-smiled, nodded no & continued on... as I'm selecting a few additional balloons, I hear the crying girl loudly expressing her frustration with a customer, who apparently yelled at her for messing up her order. Now, the girls are really trying to get her to quiet down, but she refused, dropped a few f-bombs amidst her angry rant re: the customer & how she didn't mess up her order, the lady's crazy, something about an inflatable shot glass not standing up on its own & more high-pitched yelling/cursing. I made my way to the register & out of the 4 girls, only one acknowledged what I was witnessing with a half apology. She said it'd been a long day because they'd "been there since like 8am", which I assumed was supposed to garner a sympathetic reaction from me. It was not yet 2pm. Long day? Now, the crying girl is red-faced and carrying on about the customer as if one isn't standing at the register. It was all very unprofessional but not the first time I've witnessed this behavior & from the same girl. Last month I was here, and this same young lady made an openly crude remark about a customer's romantic preference. My husband & I were standing at the register & both looked at each other a bit shocked. There needs to be an adult presence here, because these young girls are unprofessional & lack service etiquette. The store is lovely. The staff needs improvement. read more

Went here earlier today to get some balloons for my son's birthday. Three girls were behind the counter, one being a cashier and 2 blowing up some balloons. Me and my sister were in front of them for about more than 5 minutes contemplating which balloons to get and never were we acknowledged, nor were asked if we needed some help. I'm not a queen or anything that needs some ceremony when I come in but being acknowledged as a customer would be a little nice since it's part of customer service which draws people back. I agree with many of the reviews. This store is complete trash!!!! The staff and the manager are extremely rude and the store is very messy. A random stocking ladder was left in the middle of the aisle making it a complete hazard! I had to push the ladder out of the way to get through the aisle. My mother in law and I were looking for certain balloons and we looked it up online to make sure they had them in stock and they did. When we went to the store and couldn't find them, we asked the manager he rudely told us " whatever is in the aisle is what we have", so we decided to keep looking and of course we found them! We inquired about the price of blowing up the balloons, we were given two different prices and the cashier said "I don't make the prices", so we left without blowing up the balloons. I ordered balloons for my sons 2nd birthday a week before the event. I ordered 12 latex balloons and a "2" balloon for a Saturday afternoon pick up after 2 pm. The cashier asked me nothing about our party and if we were using them immediately or the next day. I picked them up on Saturday around 5 pm and Sunday morning at 8 am they were on the floor. I had to run back to the store an hour before guests were to arrive to get replacement balloons. The woman assisting me blamed it on me since "they don't know the details of your party". Well, is it so hard to ask? I had only ordered balloons once before in my life and it was a year prior for my sons first birthday! How was I supposed to know that? Oh, she told me "it's on the sign". Right, because people in a hurry to get stuff done before a party read a sign on the details of latex balloons. The woman helping me replaced the balloons but it was still a frustrating experience and time I didn't have to go out the morning of the party. I don't know why it isn't standard protocol for cashiers to ask some simple questions (and an opportunity to upsell) so your balloons last! read more

My sister ordered her wedding invitations online from another vendor to go along with her hand-made, hand-cut and ribboned invitations. They were metallic gold. I had my reservations about whether I could print on them with my home printer, and it turns out I was right. The envelopes from the online vendor were a disaster and we needed some quickly that could be printed on by a home printer. Party City saved our bacon. They sell invitation envelopes in the standard A7 size by the piece, and it was quite reasonable (12 cents--who can buy anything for a wedding for 12 cents?!). They had 100 and we were able to get another 100 from another store. We were down to the wire for sending out the invitations and couldn't wait to order more online, and were pleasantly surprised to find someone local with the correct envelopes. They were very good over the phone confirming they had the size we needed, which helped during our frantic search for replacement envelopes. We're very grateful for their help. read more

Teribble customer service experience and Manager Michelle was no help. I used a 10℅ 0ff $60 coupon against a purchase of $79 before tax. Not only did the coupon not apply at all to the subtotal but it charged me for the buy one get one free cups. So I ended paying for both cups instead of getting one free. I'll be calling corporate tomorrow and will never shop there again. They should be willing to help their customers when they see there an error on the receipt. read more

I got there on Friday, the same manager was there, my order was not ready, and she never apologized for it! While I waited for my order, she complained to the employee who missed the order and when she was done with it, she handed my balloons to me still without apologizing or saying thank you. Do not expect competent service from this store, my daughter and I had the worst experience with the manager here, I am waiting to hear back from the corporate office for resolution. not only did they destroy the best surprise of a women's life, they couldn't care less about doing it, not once but twice. after several visits to the store, to go over procedures for securing baby reveal balloons, and literally explaining exactly what we wanted, to ensure Party City was capable, and asked if it could be done, with no uncertainty, they said absolutely yes! low and behold, 20 minutes before a gender reveal party, my daughter receives a call from the store manager, that they could not blow up the gender reveal balloon, because there was too much of the blue confetti/power! really? no regard for blabbing out the gender!! I am beyond pissed !! what a friggin Moron!! needless to say she destroyed the whole day and the experience of what had been planned out for months. to add insult to injury she never offered another option, or made any attempt to fix the problem. we paid for merchandise and services that we did not receive! pure ignorance! the balloon was inspected and pre-approved by their employee, the night before, with a detailed instruction sheet from the manufacturer. there are no words... do not trust this store or this store manager with your party needs!!!! read more

The help here is horrible, there is one worker in particular, around teenager age, blonde hair, always on her phone. I've been here twice in the past month and she is always there, and she doesn't offer a helping hand while walking around aimlessly looking for help. She looks so angry, doesn't greet you or ask if you need assistance with anything. And on top of it all she is ALWAYS ALWAYS on her cell phone, when she could be I don't know, WORKING FOR HER MONEY. And the other workers there don't ever say anything to her, as far as putting your phone away when customers are around, or SAY HELLO TO CUSTOMERS AND ASK IF THEY NEED HELP. I bought all of my son's first birthday party supplies from Party City. I made several trips and had several receipts. I went in the other day to exchange a couple of table cloths (for a different color) and the 'assistant manager' said that since I didn't have that receipt on me I "could have not paid for them and just took them." I spent over $500 on party supplies and was accused of stealing $7 dollars worth of table cloths that I didn't even plan to return, I just wanted to exchange. This individual was extremely unprofessional and rude. I will never be returning to Party City. read more
